I picked up my tank 500 today and positives definitely outweigh the negatives but definitely there are a few negatives to it, as I am sure there are in every car once again great video Dimitri !
I hope it is a great vehicle for you, I see tremendous potential as well value in the vehicle, people will always carry on about resale but there are a lot of brands in that boat and you should get the car the suits your needs first and foremost good luck with it 👍🏻
I bought the tank 500 2024 , last month . I have driven 1000km so far ,I have to say it is great and fun to drive . So far , it is worth every dollar. I bought the fully loaded one ,2 gas tanks.
I drove Tank 500 last week. Sport mode was great!! Eco mode seemed to drive better than normal mode. Very smooth very quiet. Agree the hud was great. You need a good hour with the car to get familiar with functions and features. Thanks for your videos mate!!
GWM H6 HEV owner here. I like that Tank has fan speed buttons, but disappointed no temperature or volume knob return. Removal of buttons are my big pet peeve in H6 and having to go hunting in the screen behind Apple Carplay all the time. My HEV at 26,000km averages 6.3L/100km around town and pulls hard. My next car must have all the buttons back and limited driver assistance tech that causes frustration, anxiety and depression. ANCAP needs to be punished for half-baked tech they are encouraging through their star rating. Keen to know Dimitri how soft you found the suspension as I do find GWM suspension isn't well dialled into Australian roads. I am very happy with GWM quality so far brilliant, only criticisms are design/implementation points.
Thanks for sharing your experience mate. Problem with removal of buttons is that a lot of manufacturers are going that way - even Subaru! But I thought Tank 500 is rather generous in terms of how many analog buttons are still there.
Love your genuine, sincere , upfront , honest delivery and style in this video Dimitri.........Seen you review of Tank 300....similar style, coming from a Brit.....huge comp!!!
Good honest review People bang on about resale value, what about the thousands of after tax dollars you save in the first place Invested wisely gets you in front anyway These cars are going to make the major players lift their game and lower their pricing😀
As I said in another video, it will take a while for Aussie bogans to change their perception of Chinese brands and level out the resale value and depreciation problem. But in the meantime, I recommend buying these cars if you plan to keep them for a very long time, not resell in 3 years.
Great video Dimitri. Do you know if this engine, Aussie one is tunable to further accelerate the 0to100 performance? Appreciate if you could share the numbers in case already available from the Russian counterpart. Cheers
Thanks for your interest mate, unfortunately no extra numbers on my radar yet but rest assured, I will share if I come across anything interesting in that department
I am feeling this vehicle is under powered for Australian use as this often involves towing boats or caravans for a vehicle of this type.. There is the reliability issue yet to be seen as the vehicle is only just been released here. Enjoying your reviews.
We don't know anything about longer term reliability here in AU, which is exactly why I'm translating Russian videos where these cars have been on the market for a longer while. This said, T500 is a new car in all markets outside of China, so only time will really tell.
Yeah it's no petty cash but if you always wanted a Land Cruiser 300 but $140k+ is too much for you as it is for majority of people, here's a very solid competitor. Don't listen to badge snobs, I block them, but leave occasional ones be just as an example of stupidity.
@ValueCarsAU P.s , I own a GWM ute ( I think I previously brought that up in other clips ) also , I sat in one at the dealership last weekend to get a 'feel' for it ( after watching your vid that there in Ryde ), it's a nicely appointed car that doesn't feel as big as it looks when you sit in the drivers seat. And my partner loved the auto retracting side steps.

Have you towed in the tank 500 as yet? I am very keen but want to know how it goes towing.
@ev0wat, this is the final warning, your comments are offending me and my community, bye bye
@@aidanthompson664 not yet as no tow bar available
Hopefully soon in a week or so and I’ll report back
Dimitri, keep up the good work. I love you commentary style. Makes watching easy.
Glad to hear you're enjoying the vids mate

2 gas tanks? It's a HEV vehicle though, surely there are not 2 gas tanks? Or are you not in AU and you guys have a different model?

Thanks mate, I need to find time and drive it more. Just back from 10 days holidays.

Hi Dimitri, really enjoying your channel and commentary. Looking forward to watching more. Just subscribed. 👍😎🇦🇺
Thank you and welcome to the little club
The 500 has the same running HEV gear and power like the 300 anyway
While weighing more! 🙄😉
Correct and uses more fuel.
Will be a great vehicle once it gets a decent powerplant.
The power plant is more than adequate .
Sorry Darron, it already has a decent power plant in my opinion. It all depends on what you expect to do with a vehicle like this one.
@@brendanlesko2306heaps,of power mate. My tank 300 does a 6.5 sec launch 😊
If GWM give this car a 10KWH batteries then we can enjoy hours a/c without starting the engine, now 2KWH, no!
Not sure how relevant this is for an every day average Joe city driver

Like i said on your sports. There is no grab handle on the driver side. If you are not a tall person then this car isn't for you.
I'm yet to return to do a proper test drive of T500 and will pay particular attention to this
73k ??? ?, we are talking some serious coin that needs to be put down.
What a dumbass comment @ev0wat

Too much repetition, just stick to the main points objectively!
Oh wow, what would I do without an expert advice like this?? The whole channel would shut down THANKS SO MUCH BYE.
