@@Emily.Durham thank you so much! I appreciate you and your content. You're an amazing careers content creator and career coach. I especially love how you called out that your personality and personal brand will make you stand out in 2025. And you're so right about the skills section - mine is maxed out. Thanks for everything you do :)
Hi Emily, thank you for this video. Really needed the tips, been struggling in the job search recently. I hold a business economics degree , currently I am pursuing a marketing position ( leaning toward brand strategy and social media). I also possess UX training. I feel my strengths are brand strategy, storytelling, and a data driven mindset. I'd really like your thoughts on a possible header please.
Such good info, thank you! I am definitely looking for a new job in 2025, but I've been stuck because I want to make a career change. How do you conduct a job search when you don't hv a specific job you are targeting? Short points: Been a paralegal for 19 yrs in NY, not sure what career to pursue nxt bc what is important to me is that the job is remote anywhere, it makes over $100k & is not in law. Not sure how to spin that on LinkedIn bc I'm not targeting a specific industry or job, just a specific lifestyle. Any tips?
Thats a great questions (and thank you!!!)... so I would say filter based on remote and general industries and see what kinds of roles come up. Then from there, make a list of the ones that sound interesting and use those as a target!
Thanks Emily for the video!! I have a question regarding regarding reaching out to people on LinkedIn; Recently, I reached out to some (6-7) people probably working in the same domain or similar for some assistance with an potential interview I was lined up for. The hiring manager didn't like my approach on this and I am most likely banned from there. Any advice/suggestions on this? I can't provide much info here.
Do you have a video addressing all of the job postings companies have posted that they aren't actually hiring for, just to see what kind of candidates respond? I don't think that's ethical, but it's happening as well as leaving job opportunities posted after they've been filled, and some job websites don't provide any information stating how long they've been posted.

Hi Emily! My degree is pretty “wide scope” if you will. I hold a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications. I have A LOT of experiences doing social media marketing, UX/UIwriting and copywriting in general. Thing is I’m an actress too so I want to move more into a more camera based situation. Example: broadcast journalism, streaming or film focused journalism. Anyways, I love your content and your energy girlllll. Thanks for the valuable information 🥰
@@Emily.Durhamthanks for answering 🥹 Yes, I’m kind of conflicted in what to state in my LinkedIn profile though haha. I really value your content and personallity 💕
Is it really ok to not use a cover letter? I have been applying through seek to entry level jobs and they all ask for a cover letter...even my local movie theater says come in with a resume and cover letter. Wouldn't they dismiss you out of hand for ignoring the stuff they write on the job description?
Hi Emily, I just found your video. Ive been currently unemployed for two years, in my LinkedIn headline I just put civil engineer, what else can I write to spice it up and move from the interview stage to you got the job

Thanks so much for sharing these tips, Emily. I’m wondering if you could answer a couple of questions: 1. What tips do you have for someone mid-career who doesn’t have a professional network due to a complicated work history? I mean beyond resume gaps. More so a pattern of handling work conflict badly and quitting. 2. Do you have any suggestions for getting prospective companies to respond to someone completely new to LinkedIn with no connections?
