I love your office related content. It is so helpful for young people have knowledge in a certain profession but lack office experience. I had no idea how catty the office atmosphere could be and after listening to some of your videos , I feel so much better. Can you make more content on how to stay organized at the office, what tasks to take care of first, how to prioritize/organize tasks at work and etc.

My go-to's are "What was the theme for your bat-mizvah?", "Nice night for an evening, huh?", "Which Star Wars movie was your favorite?", and "You sound Canadian...so is Canada really like in the 'Scott Pilgrim' movie?" Gets an answer every time. ^_^

Office Secret Santa sounds fun! A few years ago my team had a white elephant gift exchange and the most popular gifts I remember were 1) Starbucks gift card and 2) bop-it (yes the toy lol, I think the nostalgia got people excited)

I land closer in the Zillenial fold, so I would die inside if someone in my workplace said something like 'on god'💀💀being casual is okay around coworkers who understand the age gap and just chilling out when you aren't working on something for the company, but if your boss or manager is watching? I guess something about modern socializing of younger minds has no boundaries anyways

A big problem I see is people thinking that just because you saw something on TikTok, it means it reflects reality. People fake a lot of things, and most big "influencers" don’t work in an actual office. So, they have no idea what they’re talking about. I really like that they don’t take crap from companies (something I’ve been trying to do for years but was stopped by boomers), but they have to remember that nobody wants to be at the office unless they’re having an office affair. Be careful who you trust and what you say. The dress code is usually pretty bad, but come on - it’s an AC room. Don’t come in wearing a skirt and then keep complaining that you’re cold. I'm a man, and my dress code is a shirt and social pants, it's very hot and most man in most offices have the same dress code, so a lot of us will sweat all day because someone turned the AC off not realizing that using a sweater is far easier than working shirtless. Have respect for your coworkers - they suffer just as much as you do, and they are people too. If you don’t like the company, start preparing to quit. But don’t be an asshole and stop doing your work. Do you think your boss is the one picking up that slack? No, it’s the guy who just had a kid or doesn’t have higher education and has no other options. He’s the one working for two because you don’t feel "fulfilled" at your job. Let me just say, you’ll probably never achieve that sense of fulfillment unless you’re ready to make sacrifices. This is capitalism, and you’re not more exploited than others. Hate your boss, not the older guy who has no choice but to work there.

as for quitting: i always say "don't quit a job until you've got another one lined up." i've seen way too many people quit on impulse and then flail, go broke and move back in with their parents. that's way more miserable than even the worst jobs

I plan on wearing "office siren" fits for my job, but by that I mean wearing cute long-sleeve collared shirts and dress pants with cute heels. Office siren can work in an office setting with some tweaking IMO

Gosh yeah so true. I just had one of those situations. Sadly tho my bully was actually my boss. I didnt go to her boss cuz i felt i shouldnt do that right? Like i shouldnt go to the next in line and put my boss on the spot. But in retrospect i probably should have. I took so much crap, told my coworkers but they told me to lay down (which didnt help) and to seek out a new job. I was but sadly i didnt find a new job in the whole 6months (still unemployed !). I tried to have a heart to heart wiht my boss but it felt like we re just never on the same page. We had no one to reach out for advice, like an independent 3rd party. I was told by all my coworkers not to go to my bosses boss, so i didnt. But i probably should have gone to union way sooner. Even tho union didnt help me much! I wanted a clear documentation but my boss was sneaky and would never say anything in writing. She would talk to me on the phone. Like literally if i asked her about a task or a project or something, she would call me. Not once did she reply via email. Of course when they fired me they claimed i havent done as i was told and that i was a difficult employee or some shit. But i tried my best being the bigger person, giving my boss the benefit of the doubt and i requested to have things in writting but she never complied. So yea. Fuck those old white women who think they need to ruin your career before they retire due to some petty ego trip.

I swear a lot of these videos, the ones giving shit advice, aren’t real, but then real people see them and then try to do it in real life. And then end up sabotaging their career in a very risky job market…

This video showed up on my recommended. I don't even work in an office but... 1. You are wildly entertaining to watch. You're very well spoken and funny at the same time 2. These are just good tips for gen z surviving anywhere in life. As a gen z I think making life less complicated and more casual is a good thing. But we have to remember there are people who have been out there in the real world a lot longer than us and we have to respect that they have a different idea of how society and the professional world should be run. Gen z can slowly make our mark on the world while being respectful and professional. We just need to find a balance.
