When I went to put some more money on the Honda, there was a new GR86 in the yard also ( it’s a multi franchise dealer) . Just for curiosity I organised at test drive of the 86 . After a 20min test drive I cancelled the Type R and saved myself $30,000 here in Australia. They are an awesome little car 👍
I use a GoPro and then use RaceRenders to create the video. The GoPro records motion and gps and the RaceRenders can use it for track map, speed, lap times and g-force.

I gapped a gt3 on a canyon run this weekend. But when we got to a 4way stop. He gave me a thumbs up, I looked at him& dude looked like Moses must have been 99 years young! Moral of story no way you going to smoke a gt3 , the driver either some rich old dude or he just cruising & don’t give AF. Don’t kid yourselves…lmao
he doesnt state that, read description. btw. it doesnt say gr86 is faster than gt3, but in this case it is due to driver mod. Money wont buy skill and thats how it goes. Sadly most expensive car drivers didnt climb ladder with slower cars and then they struggle. Driving fast car slow is boring.

Yes. My second automatic track car. I may lose a couple HP but over all works great, smooth and handles fantastic and for this old dude less work than heal toeing lol.
Now you should drive the gt3 rs since you're a good driver and see how bad you can beat your own GR86 laptime. I bet it wouldn't be close. 86 is a fun car but with equal drivers pushing the limits the gt3 rs would smoke an 86. If not then Porsche would go out of business lol

the car isnt that much heavier but the additional displacement of the (not new) modified engine makes it much quicker and smoother to drive. everything is kinda the same except the steering is less communicative. and you should watch out bcs the new gen suffers from oil starvation issues in some turns leading to engine failures

Not sure if they are still doing it but Toyota was offering a free track racing class with a new GR86 and Supra purchase. Good place to start.

It’s pretty much the same thing but instead of speed in the straights the first gen is lighter so it carry’s speed in the corner
