It's the narcissism. In her mind, she's never in the wrong. When Johnny defends himself, she hears it as him being mean to her, but what she said is OK. I think that's how she thought she was going to get away with the abuse claims. "Yes, I hit him but he grabbed my arm and moved me from the door way!". It's just the way they think. But, you would think her lawyers would have had the balls to tell her some of her 'evidence' makes her look horrible.

I think I may have spent a total of 5 minutes with of my life thinking about Johnny Depp. To me he was just another actor who made a few movies that I liked & a bunch that i had no interest in watching. After the Heard abuse allegations came out I thought. "What a typical Hollywood hypocrite "
After seeing this trial I realize how much I misjudged the man.
I actually like the man as a human being. There's nothing false about him that I can detect.

I never believed her, especially because I can spot a liar a mile away and grew up in domestic violence with my mother as the abuser, but I'm in my mid 50s, never a huge Depp fan, loved Gilbert grape, but this trial has made me see and feel that he's a truly sensitive human being and was dealing with a monster and I pray he gets justice and his name cleared.

I agree he seems to be the abused not the abuser but I’m curious why was the argument recorded? Did that ever get explained because if it didnt her defence team are bound to bring it up and possibly suggest his manner in recording was not typical. He sounded calm on tapes she sounded an out of control mess which fits with witnesses who seem to suggest similar. My only question is how did he stick it out as long as he did……I guess because he somehow felt it his fault and wanted to make it all better….
@@lisadefries6718 I believe at the beginning of the trial Johnny talked about how the fighting had gotten so crazy that they had discussed recording the fights so they could see what was said after the fact because Amber has recordings also....I could be basing this off of some random vid I watched or it was from Johnny's testimony... I've watched so many different reports that I can't be 100% sure.

People high in narcissism that date each other are probably a good candidate for this type of stuff and probably codependant vulnerable people too. He was already addicted, she was addicted. She young/ child free. He was hooked. At the time Johnny was already 45/46 when they filmed Rum Diary. She was like 24/25 ish.

I don't fully agree with you only because I was in an abusive relationship with a narcassist for 11 years and by the end I had nothing left to give. I was this empty shell of a person and the only thing I had left was anger. I would yell and scream to keep him away from me or shove him off me. HOWEVER...
You can clearly see a lot of her narcissistic traits in the multiple recordings of her not angrily defending herself but degrading him by calling him a baby or to grow up (invalidation of feelings)... this is a big key factor in what narcissists do. Not to mention he can't look at her and she has no problems looking at him. There is a trauma response of making eye contact with ANYONE not just our attackers, it's like we feel shame for letting someone do this to us or unsafe if we look into someones eyes.
Continuing on... She never actually sheds a tear in any of her crying episodes... or they last less than 5 seconds and then her composure is completely fine. Then she laughs in "domestic fights" that have been recorded. The biggest thing however... is the fact a woman who helps women who have been through domestic abuse didn't find her to be a victim speaks volumes.
I only disagree with your comment because while I personally was terrified and walking on egg shells I got to a point where I wanted to die so badly and felt I had nothing left to give. I was mean and loud and angry, it made me a monster I never thought I could be but it saved me and got me out. Any woman is capable of standing up and saying enough is enough and if any of it was recorded I probably wouldn't come out looking like the victim in our last fight.

Unlike Johnny, I never self-medicated and I don’t have a volatile temper so I don’t do stupid crap in a hotel rooms, I am way more self controlled. but I have been in relationships with people like Amber and I can see the abuser in her easily, nobody is beautiful enough to put up with that level of drama. Because women that abuse men is often worse, because men are really likely to lose everything in court while being innocent, feel a different kind of powerlessness because they know no one will take them seriously if they say they are being abused by a woman, they are even going to be made fun of like it happened to that guy on TV... so they feel the world is against them already... This is why domestic violence against men is not visible, because men feel like they can't speak up about it and no one cares really... So it feels like there are barely any cases of it because there is no typical puppy face with bruises on the face, so no one cares... But I'm guessing it happens just as often as the other way around... Hope if Johnny wins, people would start giving sh** about men.

Right, she claims he was physically abusive and a danger to her, yet she sounds really comfortable berating him. She claims he was emotionally abusive to her, yet we hear her freely spewing venom and insults. Sure I can believe that they had a toxic relationship and both had their own issues, but not that she is an abused victim as she is trying to portray.

The more I listen and watch the more utterly sad I feel for this poor chap. What an utterly horrible thing to say to your partner. Bringing up someone's children is just utterly low and shows what type of individual she is. I was kind of open minded when this started. She never loved him. On one of the tapes she says “I worked so hard for this marriage“. Her and her friends set him up with the intention of taking him for as much money as possible. She changed immediately after the wedding. All of her friends moved in to the penthouses in Johnny’s other properties. If any of them have an ounce of sense they will bill on her immediately if not sooner because her ship has sunk. This is nothing new for her. She got two years probation for abusing her Partner before Johnny - her wife. She abuses her sister Whitney. Hopefully all this will come out during the trial. I hope her coconspirators abandon her and make her look even more guilty because no one comes to her defense. James Franco and Elon Musk both bailed on her already.

My state of WV is a one party consent state, meaning that only one party has to consent to a conversation for it to be recorded. I wouldn't have it any other way. If someone doesn't want to be held accountable for something they said to my face, then they ought not to say it in the first place.
Also, I don't know why anyone who believes Johnny would disapprove of these consent laws, because if it wasn't for these laws, we also wouldn't have the audio recording of Amber admitting that she repeatedly hit Johnny.
@@Shane-hp2mv I'm Not a lawyer, but I don't think it matters whether or not the recording is on private property or public, as all these laws tend to based on who is present rather than where the conversation takes place. For example, in my state, as long as one person is present and consents to the recording, then they can record without fear of penalty. Now, you can't come into someone's home and then leave a recording device there, but you are free to record any conversation you are a part of.
I'm so glad the jury had access to this exchange. It proves that Johnny wasn't the abuser... she was hurling insults and profanities and such horrific soul crushing barbs and he just tried to ignore her. He's so acclimated to the abuse that the only time he responded with anything but numbness was when she mentioned his child.

This is almost surreal for me. I know women that have gone through abuse and I also have known men have gone through abuse but this trial literally is describing the abuse that I went through physically and emotionally and my ex is the exact same diagnosis is Amber. I have a male family member who was severely abused by his wife and her mother, leaving him severely traumatised, more men need to admit and seek help regarding this matter as you have, thank you for putting it out there.
My ex also suffers from borderline and yes it is extremely jarring to watch this, brings back so many pointless impossible fights. The stress of dealing with that endless cycle is enough to make you totally lose yourself, it's quite scary looking back. My fiancés cousin beat his wife, and once we were over there and our sons are only a few lot ha apart in age. When my fiancé picked up our son to feed him she very innocently said “you feed him too?” She got her ass beat as soon as we left. Women know why to say and what not to say, they also know that they can something completely innocent and that sets them off too.

@@1stMikeWhite they both recorded some at the suggestion of their marriage counselor and they both knew.. When she started recording without him knowing, I'm not sure. I think she knew every time he recorded, but I'm not 100 percent sure. She acknowledges in several of them that he's recording. Also, which ones are for the counselor and which aren't I'm not sure about. I can't watch the trial live, so I don't know if they even say which ones are which.

She would lie to his face and say she never said anything that bad to him. So he started recording her, which he told her he was going to do so he could play her own words back to her. Their therapist also agreed recordings by both of them could be a helpful tool in working through their arguments. But Scamber Turd began settings him up and recording without his knowledge or consent.

I haven't felt an emotional reaction during this whole trial (though I've felt tremendous sympathy for him) but the genuine sadness in his face listening to her insulting him and his child made me tear up. I've been in a volatile relationship before full of yelling and slamming doors and holes in the wall but never would I ever have tried to use someone's kid to hurt them like that.

This case is %100 of my life I lived for more than 15 years. I am watching this my jaws dropped, only thing is that I didn’t have any witnesses or proof to prove when she filed restraining order after finding out about her infidelity and all and she acted like a saint in front of other people but a pure evil behind the doors. She was also a chameleon with very low self esteem, I remember her fighting with me why I wasn’t jelous of her. I didn’t know anything about Narcissism or BPD. I was just blind.

However they've not only been struggling in that, their main task, but also they're not doing her any favors or helping her image in any way with their borderline witness badgering, bad strategies, and general incompetence in this trial. They come off as very inexperienced courtroom lawyers, which for this level of client, their presumed legal fees, and the high visibility and scrutiny of this trial is pretty shocking - you'd think that her team would be made up of the absolute best trial alpha dawgs in the business. But not only are they clearly not that - they're flat out trash. Stumbling at every turn, making a fool of themselves and her, while making Depp look like the complete and absolute victim of her compulsive insanity, violence, and all-around toxicity. Whether he wins or loses the defamation suit in this trial, Depp certainly wins in the court of public opinion, and that in combination with the talent and box office appeal he's shown over 35 years in the business, should be enough to get his career and standing in the film industry back to the level he's earned. Amber Heard, with her mediocre acting skills, bad box office numbers, and emerging reputation as a domestic abuser/serial liar with personality disorder(s) has probably done almost irreparable harm to her career. Her appeal to filmmakers, studios, and the public is so INCREDIBLY RELIANT upon her good looks, desirability, and likeability, which respectively, will begin to fade as the years pass and have taken a big hit in this trial. This kind of thing happened much more than people probably realize. our society dose look at woman somehow helpless and incapable of physical abuse. I'm glad this trial brings it to light .most men can't afford to defend themselves in a long litigation. it's always a good thing to record instances because they can be hard to prove and embarrassing for men .

He should be vindicated! At this point though, I don't trust the court system.
It must be horrendous to be accused of being an abuser and having your life and career ruined when it was the other way round. I hope that justice is done in this case and that Amber gets cancelled and gets prosecuted for lying.

There is definitely a chance he may lose. The system is antiquated. And what's that phrase. You can't always see the wood for the trees. And despite there being efforts to find impartial jury's . It's not always possible for people to put their personal feelings aside. Most of these people will have already heard and seen enough on the matter before the court case and made a judgement.

I was in a very abusive relationship which ended in an abduction. The physical and psychological abuse was horrific. When you're told, everyday, that you're useless, you're stupid, you're ugly, it shrinks your soul, day by day. Soon, you question yourself. You start to believe you are stupid, useless and ugly. You become a broken person with no self esteem or confidence. After finding my way out, it took many years to become happy again. There is the psychological damage, the nightmares etc. I finally found my way back. I hope that Johnny can also find his way back to the beautiful person that he is. Any woman would be lucky to have such a gentle, kind soul as a partner. Yes. Men are also abused and they deserve the same rights as women! Amber Heard should be disgusted with herself.

I believe she is not actually taking notes. It's a tactic used to draw attention away from her facial expressions or lack thereof. People will criticize her for looking emotionless. Other people will pick apart any emotion that she shows. If she is taking notes, she will appear to be concentrating and when we are focused we don't show emotions. She can't escape that easily though as people will criticize her still for taking notes. However, the jury is already preoccupied with the Q&A and if they glance over to see if she has any reaction, they will only see her writing.

I disagree. I think she truly is writing. Anything she can argue and manipulate even it's her turn..
A body language expert stated that she was writing mumbo jumbo so her expression isn't on camera.
And when her lawyer is asking questions, she turns her chair so the camera is looking at her, then she looks into it. She is so self-centered and egotistical and such a hateful, spiteful female. If she can beat down a grown man, what is she going to do to her baby? That child will be emotionally damaged and abused every day.
