It is our job as Christian parents to raise our children to know God and obey Him. The world's values and behaviours are the path to destruction. Being tolerant of the sins in the world will never help our children. Knowing the difference between right and wrong and why it is right or wrong is essential to to spiritual, physical,and mental health.

My advice would be to PRAY. Pray like the persistent widow that God remove this sin from you child’s life. We all sin and must all have our sins covered by Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. Pray that Jesus gives your child the strength to turn from this sinful life.

Treat it the same as if they admitted to being an adulterer. Correct them with the fact that it's wrong and remind them that feeling like doing something doesn’t make that something right. Regardless of what the unbelieving world says, God has judged this sin and it needs to be resisted and repented of.

"Your child coming out", Of what!? "His/Her sexual orientation", How about there's only one sexual orientation? How about build your children on the foundation that human nature is corrupt. The heart of man is desperately wicked and there's only one source of Good, that's God. Is this not Christianity 101? As a guy, what if I am sexually attracted to prepubescent girls so much it evokes massive sexual drives everytime I look at one? Most importantly, teach your child how to develop a personal relationship/fellowship with God. Only God can help the child understand what sin is and how serious it is because children are spiritually blind.

Why would you teach someone to have a relationship with an imaginary friend ?
Warn them about *hell.* It’s wiser to use the fear of the Lord (which is the beginning of wisdom), than preaching about the solely on the love of God.
Lukewarm churches, and education has taught that *hell* is just separation of God. However, I know many people now who are “separated by God.”

Shock will be the first thing people will feel as they find themselves in hell, as they’ll quickly begin to realize that they’ve been to lie to… mainly by educators and all the new “modern” corrupt Bibles
That’s why God gave us his pure words in English (Psalms 12:6-7 KJV), so we be lead not astray by liars, and learn to take the scriptures literally

Thank you! I wish my husband and I would have had these pointers for our child about 15 years ago… I think we’ve done about everything mentioned here, not perfectly though. The only thing I would add is that even though it may be unlikely their orientation will change, it’s not an impossibility. God does and can change a person completely.
If you or someone you love are struggling with this thorn in your flesh, and are a redeemed child of the Most High God, Christ must be your focus. In Christ alone, through His Holy Spirit, you can walk in victory over your sin nature. He is mighty to save and He gives us the strength to choose Him over any temptation. (1 Corinthians 10:13)
Ultimately, the Sovereign Lord allows certain circumstances in our lives to demonstrate His perfect glory. Do we give in to temptation because He placed the thorn there? No! We reject the temptation at every turn so that the desire may be put to death. This is what Jesus describes as denying ourselves and taking up our cross (daily)to follow Him. (Matt. 16:24-27). It’s a daily struggle against sin. Sometimes we fail, but we repent and get right back up until we overcome it completely. This is the “cross” we bear, but we don’t bear it alone. Will we choose to rule and reign our own lives?? Or will we allow Him to rule and perfect us into the image of Christ - no matter the personal cost? Choose today whom you will serve. Your creator is faithful and the worldwide body of Christ is here, praying for you. We don’t condemn. We equip you with the sword of truth. We love you and encourage you to stand firm in the truth. ❤

If a parent can't tell that their kid is homosexual, they don't know their children. When the child comes out, it should be no surprise. Personally I think that a parent should confront their child before the child has to confront their parents.
Yep! Unfortunately, even many Christian parents spend very little time with their children, especially as the kids get older. Even if they're physically with them, the kid and/or the parents are stuck with their faces in screens. No wonder there's no relationship.
It shouldn't be a confrontation unless you are a garbage parent but I agree that in a lot of instances a good parent would already know.

Funny how this issue is extremely rare amongst the home school community. I wonder why?
Because the home schooling community either ignores or condemns homosexuality, making the children less likely to understand their sexuality, let alone feel safe to come out?

Which is why it continues to shock me that Christian parents are STILL sending their kids to government indoctrination centers. I didn't get saved until my final year of high school. I went to all public schools. But that was in the 70s-80s when it wasn't nearly as bad as it is now. Even then, I don't recall any mention of God. Maybe in the Pledge of Allegiance that I do vaguely remember doing in grade school. And while there was no outright pushing of the "rainbow" stuff and W kids were not called the R-word solely on the basis of their skin tone like they are now, it was still a godless place in the sense that we sat there for 6+ hours a day and never once thought about the biblical worldview. How can you put your children in that environment all day, every day and expect them to develop a biblical worldview? A couple hours on Sunday and maybe midweek are not going to cut it!

Edit: It’s important to show all LGBTQ that God’s love is the greatest love of all. We must demonstrate to LGBTQ a love so great they cannot refuse it, a better love than LGBTQ can offer. We must show them the living water Jesus offers and this water will leave them the most fulfilled. We must show them why its best to run to God and not chase them away from Him.
We all sin. Jesus is the redeemer and forgives all. We must not lie and affirm but we also must remember to share the good news or risk losing an opportunity to win more souls for God’s kingdom.
Remember, heaven is like a party and we were ALL sent an invitation. Who are we to tell someone not to RSVP?

9 out of the 12 were surprisingly reasonable. (#12 is inapplicable to LGB people and it shows the prevailing ignorance of this channel.) Why are 3/4 of the points so reasonable? It is not because of the inherent goodness of Christianity. For nearly all of Christian history, the reaction of Christian leaders and Christian parents would be to isolate, ostracize, harm or destroy the gay son or daughter. Christians have been forced into a more reasonable posture because gay advocates have exposed their cruelty and shamed them into becoming better.
I think a lot of us Christians falsely imagine loved ones coming out as homosexual as a lot smaller a problem than it really is. We soften it to "I'm struggling with sin", when a lot more often them coming out really means "I'm embracing sin and rejecting Christ".
Also, your child will likely be on social media receiving constant bombardment telling them to embrace & celebrate the sin, and that you are terrible parents. These are things to consider beyond the milquetoast tips presented here.
that's definitely true, if by them "coming out" they're declaring their acceptance with that behavior moving forward..... if that IS the case, despite what this video says, all we can do is tell them the truth, that according to Gods laws, if they were to commit an act of homosexuality, it's punishable by death, and eternal torment if they don't repent before the sentence is carried out.... that's how serious this issue is to God, and likewise in your household it's no trifling matter, since you're a servant of God, and thus, if they are to embrace their sin wantonly, they can no longer be a part of your household, and all you can then do for them is pray that the Lord brings them unto repentance, and like the prodigal son they come home..... but make no mistake, if we were in a kingdom with Gods holy laws being enacted, the homosexual would be put to death, lest the blood be upon the heads of those who saw these abominations unto the Lord, and did nothing, and the evil not be cleansed from the land.

None of this would even be happening on this scale but we have liberal teachers at every level teaching our children these things. We as parents must take them to the truth there are boys and girls and your feelings that change every two seconds through growing are false and will pass in time. This is not the biblical response
I think this vid shows a way that is not a bad way to handle things, but if you believe the christian bible, that gay kid is to be rebuked and shown the door if he/she/they do not repent and stop being gay. Imagine being told to change your orientation from straight to gay? As in, imagine being told to change your attraction from what is right to what is wrong? I don't even know how to make sense of such an idea - although I suppose I could develop a taste for certain sins if I delved into it enough and began perverting my thoughts over time...

There is nothing wrong with being gay. So there is nothing to do or not to do. Its a thing. See number 3 is bad. 7. Its not just highly unlikely it doesnt happen. So improbable. A parent should just be accepting. 11 is another problem. Why does one need a plan for this? Its natural. And nothing is wrong with it. Its natural. This is why the christian perspective is so wrong. Says who? You? Who made you the moral arbiter? Of course there is something wrong with it. God calls it a sin. Even just on the biology level, it leads to death - not only because of the disease, dysfunction, and destruction it so often causes, but because it goes against biology, itself. Bodies were designed to function in certain ways. They don't function in other ways. You can shove corn in your ears all day long and call it "eating." You'll eventually die. Or you can actually eat sand. Same result. And, if there were only homosexuals in this world, humanity would die out because two men cannot produce babies. Two women cannot produce babies. Why? Because, again, bodies were designed to function in a certain way.
