      Evolution is not the survival of the fittest. It is the propagation of the adaptable over time. Darwin wrote "On the Origin of Species" 165 years ago. Our understanding of it has developed a bit since then.

    • @MrGilfred
      @MrGilfred 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      God doesn't create people of all gender or sexual orientations. The gender differences other than male and female came because of man's sin. Physical imperfection means that in time all sorts of gender differences would emerge. Also the sexual orientations stem from the physical, mental, and emotion impacts that happened because of man's sin. If Adam never sinned then there would be only male and female along with only one sexual orientation.
      Conscience determines what is right and wrong whether you believe in God or not. If you say God doesn't exist then you would have to prove to me how random chance and natural selection created the conscience we have today. Also you would have to prove why it is needed for survival when so many animals in the world don't have it and they survive just fine without it.
      What I learned from Frank is interesting there is no moral code for atheism. Meaning that an atheist can live their life any way they want even be as bad as Charles Manson, Adolf Hitler, Stalin, etc... as long as they still say that they don't believe in any god (s) then they are still an atheist. Atheism isn't like a club where you have rules and standards that you must obey or be kicked out as an atheist.

    • @UnconventionalReasoning
      @UnconventionalReasoning 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MrGilfred
      Mav said they are a secular humanist, that is the source of their moral code. Atheism is only connected to the belief in a deity, the non-belief in a deity, or the belief in no possible deities. "Atheism isn't like a club where you have rules and standards that you must obey or be kicked out as an atheist." But society is that club. And many atheists have stronger morals than what is required by society. Some have stronger morals than many theists, like using the Platinum Rule rather than the Golden Rule. Is their club/church the only reason Christians aren't "as bad as Charles Manson, Adolf Hitler, Stalin, etc"?
      Yes, I agree that "conscience determines what is right and wrong". I can also agree that conscience exists, while saying that "I don't know how it developed", although self-organizing is something that happens in the natural world. The hex-symmetric structure of a snowflake, or the atomic structure of solids, shows naturally occurring organization on the atomic level. Conway's Game of Life suggests that simple rules of interaction can also lead to complexity.
      Many animals, including humans, have a social interaction component which helps their survival. Elephants, even with their size, stay in herds and protect each other. Atheism removes the personal relationship between an individual and a deity. But atheism is not a religion or a "world view", it is a component of a world view. Secular humanism is a world view, and when Frank Turek was asking Mav about objective morality, their response was coming from their connection with secular humanism rather than with atheism.
      "God doesn't create people of all gender or sexual orientations." Are you simply asserting that? Did the deity make you a heterosexual person? How do you know one was made but the other was not? And why is all this being passed on to people today because of Adam's sin? It seems pretty cruel to make us keep paying for what one person did once.
      I would only care about the philosophical side of a deity, but there is a current push in the US for both Christian Nationalism and Sharia Law [Bible version]. It is small, but growing, and it is much easier to push back now rather than in a decade when it is much more powerful.

    • @MrGilfred
      @MrGilfred 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@UnconventionalReasoning But Stalin and Hitler had a different form of secular humanism. A secular humanism of their own group that supported them doing what they done. So they weren't booted out of their little secular humanism that is different than what others have accepted. I can say that there are those theists, even though small in number have much stronger morals than their peers or other atheist like Stalin that Hitler.
      So you think you would need to see how the super rich treat others in order to know how they want to be treated. That is a wrong way to think. The majority of people would want to be treated like you would want to be treated. Which is something that you know very well. You communicate how you want to be treated by your actions. By the way you treat others. That tells others how to treat you. But it doesn't say that you have to be able to give super rich people the same things that they give to their super rich friends as how they treat others, because you wouldn't have to funds to do so.
      Conway's Game of Life is only a suggestion not a fact or even a proven theory that isn't open for debate. What about the big cats like tigers that eat other animals.
      I think that Frank failed to describe something that is very important to others. He should've said what I said that atheism is not like a club where you would have rules to abide by or you are kicked out. Stalin and Hitler weren't drummed out of being atheists because of all of the people they had killed.
      When I said God didn't personally create all of the other genders along with sexual orientations I mean just that. It is not personal opinion. Do you really believe that if God does exist that he would punish his creation for doing what he created them to do? Of course not, I know that man wouldn't take a car about and never put it back together again because it done what he created it to do. In the bible though God clearly says such ones won't inherit God''s kingdom in the book of 1st Corinthians 6:9-11. The verses goes on to teach that is what some in the Congregation used to be. So if they were created that way why would they need to change? Why would they need to be washed clean if they are doing as they are created to do.
      The only logical explanation is that all of the other genders other than male and female are byproducts of man's sin. The same is true for all sexual orientations. How is the stain of sin passed on to Adam and Eve's offspring. Let's say you have two biscuit pans. One is perfect without any dents or even the slightest of scratches. While the other one has a dent in it. Now the dented pan will make every biscuit that is made with that pan with the same dent. That dent in man is inherited sin. Adam and Eve couldn't pass on perfection because that is what they had lost. They can't pass on what they themselves no longer had.

    • @MrGilfred
      @MrGilfred 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@UnconventionalReasoning It is not like Adam and Eve were imperfect like us. They were perfect in every way, but they also like us had a free will. Adam decided to abuse that wonderful gift by wanting independence from God by saying he would be better off choosing for himself what is good for him and what is bad for him. God knew that the best way to handle it with the angels watching was to let man have his independence. But God didn't have to bless his independence. He has been letting man try all forms of government that he can think of trying. None of them have ever come close to giving the citizens all of the things that Adam and Eve had in the garden of Eden. This suffering is what will teach obedient mankind the folly of independence from God.
      So it wasn't just the sinful act, it was independence that was also the problem. If God had destroyed all of the rebels Adam, Eve and Satan the angels could've said you didn't give man any time to find out if he could be just fine on his own. So to avoid that problem God decided to let mankind go through the suffering. Also each person that suffers for the years that they are alive. How long will it take them to forget that pain and suffering when they have lived for thousands of years. I am sure that obedient mankind will forget the suffering. But still remember the lesson of the folly of seeking independence from God. Where man will never have to never go through this again.

He says the law says do not commit adultery but I say that if you even look at a woman with lust you've committed adultery with her in your heart! The law has a tendency to shut mouths and declare us all as guilty! Turek is a dreadful apologist. What the kid was trying to examine is the internal consistency of Turek's worldview. The topic wasn't about the nature and foundation of morality. This is a standard deflection used by weak apologists to distract from the question at hand. A good philosopher doesn't deflect, he confronts directly and when possible restates the other argument even more strongly than the objector has framed it himself. If the objection is "Your moral system, objective or not, is not internally consistent", then attacking the objective foundation of the questioner's own moral system comes across as an attempt to avoid the uncomfortable reality of one's own inconsistency by making the debate about dueling moral foundations (an important topic, but not the one at hand at the moment). It is at the very least lazy apologetics and Turek did this kid a disservice by refusing to recognize the nature of the the question and taking it as an opportunity to defend the consistency of his own Christian worldview. In short, if Turek was a competent apologist he would have actually helped the kid find the very best statement of his objection and then dealt with it straight up, instead of trying to trick the kid into another topic. Turek was embarrassing and is the one who rally needs the prayers.

      In my experience removing the log in your own eye before trying to remove the splinter in your neighbors is not a simple task and I find Frank is an excellent video example of a how to vid.

But it's easy to fall into a battle of who had the best arguments and who won the debate. I'm not here to give you a hard time. I just hope you'll consider refocusing.

God calls it an abomination. That does not mean we do not love the sinner. But it is not an opinion. I know he has spoken the truth about it so wonder what he meant with this statement.

    Regarding intersex. As an aspiring nursing student we learn in physiology that intersection is just a few select people that have an issue in their DNA or a problem occurs in the womb which creates an underdeveloped reproductive system which may present itself in several ways. But that doesn't change biologically what your DNA was meant to instruct regarding the development of a female or male. But problems do happen which aren't the norm in genetics. Mathew 19:12 clearly reads this: "For there are some eunuchs who were so born from their mother’s womb, and there are some eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.” What does eunuch mean? as aformentioned, one born with an underdeveloped reproductive system but it can also be those made of men meaning those castrated to serve the king and not reproduce with concubines or women of importance, and eunuchs as in those choosing a life of celibacy to further devote time to God.
    Regarding the Binary:
    Genesis 2:24
    Ephesians 5:31
    Mathew 19:4-6
    We read that a man leaves his mother and father to join his wife and become one flesh.
    1 Corinthians 6:16 - What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
    Revelation 19:7
    Mathew 25
    John 3:29
    Clearly read that Christ is called the bridegroom of the Church. Hence, the marriage between a man and woman is meant to represent the relationship that Christ has with his Church.
    Revelation 21:2 - And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
    2 Corinthians 11:2 - For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
    So far we read that a union in marriage and sexual intercourse is a joining of flesh. Adulterers join to be one flesh which reaps bad fruit. But God created marriage, clearly defined between one man and one woman, as a holy union which bares good fruit.
    1 Corinthians 6
    15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
    16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
    17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
    18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
    We all know that the body of Christ is what? The Church.
    Ephesians 4:16
    1 Corinthians 11:27-30
    1 Corinthians 10:15-17
    1 Corinthians 12:27 - Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
    Colossians 1:18 - And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
    1 Corinthians 1:10 - Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
    Clearly, adulterers and fornicators are not joined as one flesh unto Chirst and are hence not the temple which house the Holy Ghost. And we read previously that marriage is only between one man and one woman as the representation of Christ's relationship with the Church. What does this mean then? They that are not of the Church of Christ and go against the will of God, join their flesh in unholy marriage and sexual immorality to join as the temple which houses the demonic spirits and entities that belong to Satan as they have joined not just as one flesh, but as one spirit.
    You were created in God's image, but your father is the devil. Christ did die for the sins of mankind, but your debt is only covered by the blood of Christ if you accept his sacrifice. In Mathew 10:33 we read that whoever denies Christ before men, Christ will deny them before the father. Your debt is only paid and your body and spirit only belongs to God, when you place your faith in him bc God will not accept a son of Satan into his kingdom.
    You have your God given free will to defile that which was created to be the temple that houses the Holy Ghost, your body.

      No. The human race is much more than reproduction. By that logic, your 80 year old grandma is bad, your infertile neighbour is bad, childless couples are bad and anyone whose sole purpose is not to reproduce is bad. Which is a rather absurd take if you ask me.
