I’m losing Bluetooth connectivity when I try the new full screen mode. Xbox/Playstation controls for gaming. Works fine with the normal large windows though
This really is a strange bug. I don't usually use Bluetooth devices with my quest other than a keyboard, but I was able to play around with it for 15 or so minutes with a Bluetooth keyboard without issue. I wonder if it's controller specific. Which kind of controller are you using Playstation or Xbox?
@@bc_labs I used both and had the same trouble. But maybe it’s because the apps are side loaded. Again though, it was only in the new supersized screen with the optional dimming. I’m not sure I saw you test that in the video… would be interesting to know if your keyboard works in that with normally installed apps
I really hope that the improvements in the passthrough, the new UI and new functions make it practically a cheaper version of the Apple Vision financially but not behind in terms of resources, what I would like most is that the latency of the virtual control of the quest and the bell of the If your hand had zero latency and was well positioned, another fantastic thing would be occlusion of the body and 3D objects in the real world.
Honestly I think a lot of these things are within the realm of possibility. But there will be trade-offs. The main thing they're running up against at this point I think is battery life. If it wasn't about battery life, and a little bit to the effect of heat, I see them be able to push the quest much further than it already has been. Apple literally had to essentially cheat by offloading the battery, and making it swappable, to get the Vision Pro to last long enough, and get the weight down enough. I do wish they had pushed the ram up to about 12gb, as I think that could yield more flexibility in terms of multitasking, as well as processing
Ask her what you said about being a cheaper Vision pro, I think we're already most of the way there. I used the Vision Pro during a demo and although it was a very seamless experience, there are a lot of shortcomings with it that the quest also suffers. Apple was just able to throw hardware, and money at most their problems. Meta is really having to optimize their software to keep the BOM budget oriented. I would have paid another $150 for the quest 3 to have eye tracking though.
@@bc_labs The biggest problem with Quest 3 isn't even the battery and that it gets hot since you can increase the battery with accessories (which also solve the comfort problem) plus you don't feel or barely feel the heat from it with its face cover , the biggest problem is the lack of ram and eye tracking, with 16gb of ram, foveated rendering and a Snapdragon® XR2 Plus Gen 2 it would be possible to have an excellent improvement in the power of the VR/AR headset, if all games could use it this extra power, games like the walking dead saints and sinner chapter 1 and asgard's wrath 2, which both with the graphical update for quest 3 would run at 120fps (they currently run at 72fps), in addition to getting all the power for multitasking too, is what I hope The Asus VR/MR gamer headset that will use Horizon OS has all these improvements (and if possible QLED + Mini LED or Micro OLED screens (of course if the field of vision is not smaller)), I would easily pay 1000 dollars for it.
Furthermore, even though Apple made the Apple Vision Pro costing a fortune, it did tremendous stupid things with it, starting by making its structure out of metal, which is something that will weigh you down, like if it were titanium, which is much lighter, ok, more It's not, another thing is the useless and very poorly made external screen that increases the weight even more, another thing is the battery that even if you take the parts out and you have a wire hanging with you, you still have the same battery as the Quest 3 or worse.
