I can't escape the humor when you articulate how you are going to look for missing socks! All kidding aside, you do an impeccable job and I enjoy learning from you and purchasing your fine products.
I’m a woman, and yet I just can’t stop watching your videos, one after another. It’s a real pleasure, thank you so much! The advice you give in this very video I definitely will use next time I’m doing the laundry for my husband. Cheers, Julia.
The Hanger Project Hard to say, they are all great. However, being a huge fan of handwriting, I enjoyed the esthetics and ambiance of your videos about fountain pens. I’ve been thinking of buying a Waterman Perspective fountain pen, and now I’m more encouraged than ever.
When your raising men in your household this information comes in handy. It assists me in helping them cultivate a habit in maintaining there socks. Perhaps they can pass info on the their friends.
Kirby, greatly enjoyed this video. I also appreciated the info about turning your socks inside out before laundering. Also, I must add that I really like your sports outfit which you wore in this video. The color combination of semi-dark coat and light pants was excellent.
excellent video kirby great info on socks..........the more mature i get as a sartorialist i tend to prefer more white dress shirts also.......its so elegant and most usage from these shirts when you have hundreds of ties and a mass of suits and a strong 30 plus rotation in shoes some plain shirts with subdued socks are quite appealing.......i have the wild ones two but sometimes less is really MORE. let me know if you will get the SAPHIR VALET BOX......on your website i have seen it in overseas stores but it's stunning piece and it comes in two colors from saphir. Ill be keeping my eyes peeled for it when its time to make the big jump into gold level shoe care!
Thanks for a great tutorial. I find that my socks wear underneath, from walking shoe-less on wooden floors. As we do here in Scandinavia. Time to get some slippers perhaps?
What an awesome tutorial! If you put your dress socks in a separate mesh laundry bag to keep it separate from other clothes, could you wash it together and mitigate the risk of lint etc.?
Anthony White Turning then INSIDE-OUT and HANG DRYING are the two keys. And resist the temptation to not turn inside-out. It’s a pain, but makes all the difference in maintaining strong, vibrant colors by eliminating the accumulation of lint.
@@kirbyallison I kinda wish I knew this the other day. Still, I think I only lint-ified one pair of dress socks. I still have plenty of backup pairs for whenever I need to be formal abou things.
Indeed a fine video certainly appreciate all the helpful suggestions just one question what is your thoughts on using the fluff dry or air dry only cycle on a dryer thanks for the video.
I wear sheer otc dress socks that I buy imported. I wash them in cold water and let them air dry,I think you answered it but since mine are sheer minus the toe,is that the best way?
Great video! Would you also use hand washing for pure silk socks, or can they go in the machine? And maybe a weird question, but do you wash Hanger Project’s socks after every day of wear or is it okay to wear them for like 2 days in a row?
You should be able to machine wash silk... it's actually one of the strongest fibers. Great question on how often I wear socks. I honestly wear my dress socks several times before washing them. Granted, I don't have feet that sweat profusely, so I understand some people's hesitation, and I do not live in a walking city where I am walking a lot. But I am easily able to get several wears out of a pair of socks before I feel that they need to be washed. The fewer times you can launder ANYTHING, the better.

I always seem to be between sock sizes. Either the heel portion is sticking out above the shoe, or my toes are cramped. Are there any sock companies you are aware of that do a better job of offering many sizes of socks, so you can find a pair that actually fits YOU?
I noticed that you have your jacket buttoned while you sit. Was that a conscious choice so as to appear professional? I've always unbuttoned my jacket upon sitting and buttoned it upon standing.
Hi my names Rishi..but my question is related the saphir products..is it possible to have the product on a wholesale rate in bulk..i sent you a mail..but haven't received any answer..so far..it was a month ago..!
Sheldon Harbour The most important thing is to keep socks with socks. And preferably washed inside-out to prevent lent buildup on the outward facing side (when wearing them). Cold water. Light detergent. If particularity soiled, pre-treat by soaking overnight in cold water with mild detergent.
@@kirbyallison thank you for your timely and informative response to my vague question! I tend to take "wash with like colors" too literally. Much appreciated!
You mentioned you send your shirts off to the Dry Cleaners. I have tried several different places and they come back in terrible shape (especially my french cuff shirts). I wash them on gentle cycle and they come out better. Is there any disadvantage to this?
Gregory - absolutely the holy grail of shirts is to launder them at home. This will always be better than sending them off to the dry cleaners, especially a mediocre one.

I have pulled the most threads/torn holes in socks with freshly trimmed nails, as trimming them leaves sharp edges and particularly corners.

Yes! A nice pair of house slippers would eliminate that problem! Check out La Portegna. They have really nice slippers also.

I was wondering the same thing.
Walllgreens' sells mesh laundry bags too cheap.
Yes, It will work perfectly, that's what it's designed for.

I've never tried it, but I think you'd be better off hang drying. Less wear on the socks.
what's the recommended spin speed? 400 RPM? and temperature 15 deg C?

Do any of the socks you offer on your website exclude elastics from their calf portions?

This is a conscious effort to try to keep the silhouette of the jacket while sitting. Not something I would do normally... just for these videos.
I couldn’t find the detergents on your UK website.
Ah, sorry, James. We don't carry them yet. We may look into adding them soon.

love the videos, but always put your pets away before you turn on the camera..
I think dress socks shouldn’t be washed. They should be nice and stinky and sold to someone who loves the smell of them. 😉
