As a guy who lives in a city, your definition of "small" for a closet is intriguing to me. Any closet that you can actually go into is *massive* for where I live.
this is a really large closet for the area. I have lived in several apartments, town homes, and houses throughout Texas and have never had a closet this big. But man, i already thinking about how to redesign my house to build something like this
Thank you for welcoming into your home and showing us your closet. I really like this video since it gives the viewer a new perspective on how to organize our wardrobe without spending a fortune. All it takes are a few dollars and a lot of thinking and space utilization planning, as you so well demonstrate. Watching your videos is not only very informative, practical, and educational but a pleasant experience and a real joy.
Thinking and planning the most important component. Same guy could have installed a closet that was worse than the original. I took notes for several weeks thinking about how I interacted with my closet to ultimately determine this design. I even measured to ensure that I could double-stack shoe boxes on the top shelf.
While not opulent like the ones you showed pictures of it's well organized, neat, and tidy. Looks like its built exactly for your needs. Thanks for sharing it and it's ideas!
You rock Kirby. Thanks for making it point to slow down and appreciate the things we already have, be it our wardrobes, or whatever else we are passionate about. It is a wonderful thing to stop and appreciate.
You are a huge inspiration of what I strive to be as a up coming gentleman. Slowly my closet is changing to more dressy clothing. After years I finally found my true style and it's more formal and business casual. Due to the fact that I'm losing weight it just makes me more excited because clothing is looking more sleek on me. Keep up the great work Mr.Allison!!!
Thank you for this wonderful tour. I recently discovered you and the Hanger Project. I’m almost 56 and just now trying to define my style. You Sir are an inspiration.
I just remind myself when I look at all the stuff I have collected.... "you can't take it with you", and "it's all gonna burn." It really keeps me balanced.
This is so cool. I don't even have dressers in my room. All my clothes are in my closet. Shirts and jeans for example are all in plain view and it is pleasant to the eye to see all the colors. Shoes at the bottom. Ties on a carousel rack. Very cool closet!
Oh man this is amazing! We just went from a super tiny condo to an old charming home built in 1912! So much character and charm and space for me to setup an office and record videos and write easier! There are a small walk-in and linen size closet in our room currently, but there is enough room from previous owners closing in the balcony to make huge on-suite bathroom that I think my wife will get the walk-in and I'll get the linen closet that I may fit just for shoes it trousers and then build a larger walk-in for the rest! Great video!!
Kirby, thank you so much for a wonderful insight into how you keep your clothing and dressing products, fantastic. This has given me some great ideas for our retirement home. At the moment I have 3 wardrobes in different rooms and shoes on top of one another. I am trying to find a good bedroom storage builder in the UK. I have found one at last to give me a design similar to yours. So thank you very much indeed.
Kirby adding a closet upgrade adds to the resale of your home, something i was told when we had our walk-in closets upgrades, I love the Felix Unger organization,
Hmm, brilliant use of not-a-lot-of-space. I'm in a 1950 suburban colonial that was originally 1400sf, and the closets are tiny. Previous owner did make the MBR closet into one that is my wife's then a smaller one that is mine with shelves. But you gave me some ideas to improve storage. Never thought to go seasonal.
Impressive closet. The thing that impressed me most is the fact u have thread and needles in ur dresser and u can stitch up minor things such as nicks on socks and u can sew up ur shirt buttons urself. This goes to show how passionate and organised u are as a person. I like the photo of u wth ur mother. Ur parents have done a wonderful job. I am sure u make them proud! I wud like to see a necktie collection and a cufflinks collection. Thank u.
Nice! Great to see a well organized closet! I have a similar layout closet but with way too many shoes and boots. The storage stool is a brilliant idea and one that I'll be adding to my closet. I share the closet with my wife but I have many more clothing items and footwear than she does.... if only I could get her to move her stuff to a guest room closet! haha Love the idea of placing pictures on outside of boxes for easy identification also, time to pony up for a handy Polaroid printer! Thanks for the tips and tour!
This video inspired me to redo my family room and master closets. I used a wire shelving system from the local big box store. The experience lead me to wonder if KAHP could do more “real” clothes and accessory storage content for those of us who need to temper our per square foot expectations but still want to store our items well.
The best addition to any of my closets was cedar flooring fixed on the ceiling. I've since moved and unfortunately don't have any pictures. But aside from the benefits of cedar, the aesthetics of wood ceiling was amazing. It was relatively inexpensive, so I'll probably be doing it again in the new place.
Thank you Kirby for sharing your closet with us. I absolutely love how organized, detailed and deliberate it is! How do you store old items that are for sentimental value and that you do not necessarily wear? Also how do you keep tabs of what you wore when to give your closet more wear longevity and avoid wearing some items too frequently?
I think your presentation style is unique and delivery concise. Just keep it up. I plan to start a youtube channel for this market (Africa) and will reach out for tips.
topic request: explain your daily routine in terms of shoe care and clothes care. I got the idea after your video about collar stays... so many things I do not know!! thanks for your videos!
First Mr. Allison let me say thanks for indeed a wonderful tour of your well organized closet I greatly appreciate all the helpful suggestions on how to maximize closet space excellent video
So if you don't have an air filtration system, should you do your brushing of your clothes and shoes outside of the closet somewhere else in the house? Also, where do you air out your jackets, pants, and coats after you've worn them that day--or does the air filtration system take care of that with it just hanging back in its place? I always feel like things won't air out properly if I just hang it back on the rack, and so I have a hook in the center of my ceiling where I can hang things. I also note that I don't see anything hanging in garment bags to keep dust off them--again, the air filtration renders that unnecessary?
Great video....thanks for sharing. Although you answered the question I had on what to do about dust, please can you tell me what you do about moths/insects that eat clothing?
Very nice use of space! You've managed to squeeze more dollars' worth of suits, shirts, and shoes into that one modest sized walk-in closet than my entire home is worth! lol
Such a great chanel, I hope to one day purchase from your website, wish you went into more details about your watches, but then again this isn't a watch channel, great work !
Hello sir. A friend of mine has a couple antique travel chests. Things are quite large and open up to reveal their small closets with hangers drawers even hat storage. Made of bull hide brass and redwood to with stand the rigors of 1930s travel. 4 feet tall 3 feet wide opened up they are stunning. Question.. do you and Mrs.Allison ever have style "conversations"?
Nice!! It's remarkable what you did with a small space. Heck my closet space is bigger yet you put me to shame :). Now I'm really motivated to get a closet system built. Thanks. Good video
Thanks for sharing! Do you recommend a corby pants press for pressing pants before hanging in your closet? If not, what do you recommend guys should use to get a nice crease in trousers? Thanks!
Kirby, thank you for sharing your home with us . I will take these tips into consideration with my own closet . Also I have a questions that can use your expertise on . I bought a pair of Paul Evens Semi-Brogue Oxford , in age cognac . How do I polish a two tone color shoe without messing it up ? I feel this would be a great video for you too.
Your closet looks a lot like my dream closet. I do not want it too big as i love the enclosed space feeling. However I want it big enough for an armchair so I can read and relax in peace!
Hi Jonathan. Great question. Our Sweater Hangers are totally safe to use on knitwear for in-season use. For longer-term, out-of-season storage, I recommend our Sweater Storage Boxes (folding).
Wonderful closet. Perfectly organized. Very personal as any closet should. Do you use anything, spray etc. to prevent moths? I worked for someone who would spray their closet twice each month.
That’s an amazing closet! A different kind of “Man Cave!” Another great video Kirby. I have 4 entries for the Shoe Shine Kit! I have invited others via Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram! 🙏🤞Hoping 4 is enough!
Dear Mr. Allison, could you give me the name of company that builds closets as show in your video at minute 1:35? Thanks for your answer and for the great channel that provides amazing information.
Very nice . I’m also in the Dallas area, please tell me who you used, for your closet system ? Also, the picture of you and your mother, would look great, in the living room . Best wishes .
Thank you Kirby, very nice setup! I'm an old soul, and I love the old days. I love the 30's & 40's style menswear and houses. You have a beautiful, old home! May I ask what state your house is in? I also like listening to the Old Time Radio shows, particularly, "The Shadow." Take care, and I look forward to more videos.
I have same same size walk in closet in my house. I would like to order - buy the same closet kit (s) that you ordered. If you don't mind, what companies did you use? Do you have a list of parts you ordered so I could just copy it. thank you Kirby - very nice work, by the way.
As a guy who lives in a city, your definition of "small" for a closet is intriguing to me. Any closet that you can actually go into is *massive* for where I live.

Turk Blackwell WTH?? I thought everything was “big” in Texas!! 😂😂😂😂 I made a funny!!
Wife evicted him from the master bedroom closet into the guest room, so he turned the whole guest room into his closet.
I completely concur with your statement. I live in NYC and small is relative, very relative in this case.
Same here. My suits are stuffed in my tiny closet. I really ought to do something about that.
Thank you for welcoming into your home and showing us your closet. I really like this video since it gives the viewer a new perspective on how to organize our wardrobe without spending a fortune. We all wish we had an opulent closet, but I"m quite happy with what I was able to accomplish in what you can see is a tiny space!
The Hanger Project it is very well done taking everything into consideration.
You rock Kirby. Thanks for making it point to slow down and appreciate the things we already have, be it our wardrobes, or whatever else we are passionate about. It is a wonderful thing to stop and appreciate.

HIS KID HAS CHARVET SHIRTS!😳 that’s awesome
My dream closet ....I just loved the way you organised everything in such a small place . Thank you for sharing , as always sharing is caring 😊
What a great looking closet. Well organized and something we can all try to emulate.
Thank you for this wonderful tour. I recently discovered you and the Hanger Project. I’m almost 56 and just now trying to define my style. You Sir are an inspiration.
Thanks, Martin! Never too late!
I just remind myself when I look at all the stuff I have collected.... "you can't take it with you", and "it's all gonna burn." It really keeps me balanced.
Jack Benny said you can take it with you. ;)
This is so cool. I don't even have dressers in my room. All my clothes are in my closet. Shirts and jeans for example are all in plain view and it is pleasant to the eye to see all the colors. Shoes at the bottom. Ties on a carousel rack. Very cool closet!
What a wonderful closet I think I shall model my closet after yours i love it.Thanks for sharing it with us kirby.
Kiby Allison is my new Mr. Rogers... So calm and happy about what he is doing.
Kirby’s closet is more of a temple I love this so much.
That's what I expected your home would look like; it looks great!
Thanks! It is modest, but we love it.
what an enjoyable sneak peek into a private refuge. Well done Kirby.
Another brilliant video. Thank you for sharing.
Great to see a relatively small space organized so efficiently! got a few great ideas for our closets! thank you.

Wow!
It was awesome to experience a personal perspective of your amazing collection.
I enjoyed it! 👏
My pleasure!

Simple and classy!
*"My wife evicted me out of the bedroom closet"* 😂
Yet you recovered in style.
This is one burden when Men get Married.
“Can’t wait to be out of that phase” hahahaha
Nice. Thanks for letting me into you home Mr. Allison.
Man, that is an inspiration. Right now I don't have a lot of stuff to wear, but you are aspirational to the max.
I specifically applaud your shirts. They are classy and beautiful.
Thank you!! Love my shirts...

A really organized closet! Thanks for share and greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷

In our next house, I'm definitely having the closet made out of cedar. Even if it is just the wall and ceiling.
Very nice to see inside your home. Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful mind brings beautiful life.
Thank you for sharing.
Love it. So practical.
Hello from Austin. Nice, well-organized closet without unnecessary frou-frou.
Thank you very much sir! I appreciate your experience and take on style for a gentlemen to the fullest
I really really love this channel.
I agree...this is a most enjoyable channel!
I love your closet. Your clothes. Your style. Your look. And most of all, your shoes. Nice !!! - A guy in Montreal
Thanks! I still feel like it is an incredibly small wardrobe (although it may not appear like that).
Thanks very much for this video and opening up your home to us. I found it authentic and practical.
Thanks, Michael! Anything you think you'll do differently?
I think your presentation style is unique and delivery concise. Just keep it up. I plan to start a youtube channel for this market (Africa) and will reach out for tips.
Good organization but what I really want to know what do you wear if you need to run to a 7-11 or Walgreens ?
awesome video.. love the light coming off the heel of your shoes.
You show some very good ideas. I especially like the air circulator/dust remover. Thanks for posting. Man you have a lot of clothes!
topic request: explain your daily routine in terms of shoe care and clothes care. I got the idea after your video about collar stays... so many things I do not know!! thanks for your videos!

Check out this video about care against moths etc: th-cam.com/video/13pVQ7WFxLw/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for bringing us in.
Hi. Nice honest video. Question, would you ever invest in a Corby Trouser Press?
A very honest tour. A definite family man.
Thanks for the tour! Have you bought most of your Charvet shirts off-the-rack, MTM, or bespoke? Any recommendations?
Impressive room . Well organized
Thanks!
Thank you for the video!
Very nice use of space! You've managed to squeeze more dollars' worth of suits, shirts, and shoes into that one modest sized walk-in closet than my entire home is worth! lol
I really enjoyed your video, especially your personal anecdotes
Great video Kirby!! Great ideas! Thanks for sharing.
Expensive wardrobe!
Great work Kirby!
Such a great chanel, I hope to one day purchase from your website, wish you went into more details about your watches, but then again this isn't a watch channel, great work !
I know just what you mean. I get such an “up” feeling when I’m going through my closet.
I would've sworn you'd have one of those $10k closets with tons of space. Great to see what you did with the space you did have. Great vid.
Nice video. Thanks for sharing this special place of your home. It would be nice to see a video about your criteria for watch collecting.
Thanks! Yes! That is a video we are working on.
Question Kirby, why don’t you keep your shoes in the respective shoe bags? Thanks
Could you make clearer to me what is that cover ate the leaf side of the video? It seems like a cover for overcoat, am I right?
Thanks!
Kirby is the Mr. Rogers of fashion and etiquette.
Such a beautiful collection and closet . I'll have this one day ;)
Your closet looks a lot like my dream closet. I do not want it too big as i love the enclosed space feeling. However I want it big enough for an armchair so I can read and relax in peace!
I’d kill for this closet! I own a 1950’s ranch home and the closet is miniature. Maybe 1/4 this size
Question: Do you recommend using your sweater hangers for v-neck sweaters? Or do you recommend folding them? Thanks
Hi Jonathan. Great question. Our Sweater Hangers are totally safe to use on knitwear for in-season use. For longer-term, out-of-season storage, I recommend our Sweater Storage Boxes (folding).
great closet! perfect
What brand is the tray that hold the collar stays? It looked great
Wonderful closet. Perfectly organized. Very personal as any closet should. Do you use anything, spray etc. to prevent moths? I worked for someone who would spray their closet twice each month.
Well-organised wardrobe!
I really enjoyed that and found it inspirational even.
I AM IN LOVE !!!!!!
Thanks!
That’s an amazing closet! A different kind of “Man Cave!” Another great video Kirby. I have 4 entries for the Shoe Shine Kit! I have invited others via Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram! 🙏🤞Hoping 4 is enough!
Thanks for entering!
I am really enjoying your work my friend. I wish you much success and will start supporting your company.
Thank you! We are having fun!
Wow, fantastic video! I am very jealous of your beautiful wardrobe!
Thank you! It wasn't built overnight and is still smaller than I would like it to be!
Dear Mr. Allison, could you give me the name of company that builds closets as show in your video at minute 1:35? Thanks for your answer and for the great channel that provides amazing information.
I'll see if I can get the contact information from my wife. We just had them build out cabinets in our garage, which are incredible!
Found it. His name is Mark Lopez. You can email him at mlopez3077[at]yahoo.com.
Does MR. Lopez has a website?
I don't think he does... for this price point, you don't get a ton of marketing!
Very nice . I’m also in the Dallas area, please tell me who you used, for your closet system ? Also, the picture of you and your mother, would look great, in the living room . Best wishes .
Excellent! Where do you store your steamer/iron and belts?
Do you brush your shoes and clean the soles before you store them in your closet?
We need an update on this featuring the new house.
Thank you Kirby, very nice setup! I'm an old soul, and I love the old days. I love the 30's & 40's style menswear and houses. You have a beautiful, old home! May I ask what state your house is in? I also like listening to the Old Time Radio shows, particularly, "The Shadow."
Take care, and I look forward to more videos.
I live in Dallas, Texas. Sounds like we have many similar interests and would get along quite nicely!
The Hanger Project Yes Kirby, we certainly would! I forgot to mention, I LOVE the lighting on your decor, in the beginning of your video!
Are all the Charvet shirts bespoke?
Please do a video on all the Charvet shirts you have
Great inspiration, thanks
I also have the same type of walk in closet. This was a great vid !
Hi Kirby,
do you have an idea where I can find hat boxes like the one shown in this video? Many thanks in advance!
I have same same size walk in closet in my house. I would like to order - buy the same closet kit (s) that you ordered. If you don't mind, what companies did you use? Do you have a list of parts you ordered so I could just copy it. thank you Kirby - very nice work, by the way.
