Agreeing with the rest of the folks here about loving this podcast. You don’t understand the amount of joy I felt seeing this video pop up on my screen. I am not an amusement park head or coaster head by any means, I just love seeing people share their interests and getting to live in that joy with them. Keep doing what you’re doing fellas!
In response to Ryan saying you guys miss the mark when it comes to appealing to non-theme park heads, I actually disagree! I love this podcast and have really no vested interest in amusement parks lol, I just like hearing you guys talk about the history and sharing your stories :)
Absolutely, I go to next to no parks, im not a thrill ride enjoyer, but this podcast gives me so much enjoyment, I love their format and their rubric they use. Always excellent and enjoyable
Agreed. I've been to a handful of theme parks in my life, most of which were on the same group trip, and the last one was like 15 years ago. Rides are fun, I just prefer to spend my time and money elsewhere. I enjoy learning about the history and unique traits of these rides though.
We! are! BACK! Genuinely one of my favourite podcasts of all time and i'm not even a theme park head, love the format, the scoring rubric, everything. 10/10
I don’t typically watch this, I primarily listen to the podcast but I have got to say, I missed this podcast. It’s something I look forward to every week. It’s a topic I genuinely enjoy and it puts something light and fun out into the crowd of negativity we are surround by
So sick y’all got the actual GOATS of theme park TH-cam to appear on the pod! Coaster Studios are the reason why I was able to get more into rollercoasters in the first place.
The sound bite, “is everybody in? Is everybody in? The ceremony is about to begin,” is from the Doors. I believe the album is American Prayer, but don’t quote me on that. It is the opening of a longer poem by the band’s lead Jim Morrison.
My older brother worked at magic mountain when it was still X and I remember one day he came home from work and he forbid me from ever riding it again which was shocking cause he wasnt that kind of person. He never told me exactly what had happened to make him ban me from the ride but he said it was dangerous and it was a matter of time before someone died on it. X closed shortly afterwards for the train redesign and rebrand to X2. So I can only assume there was some kind of close call that the park managed to keep under wraps.
I'm not a park head and I adore this podcast. Change nothing. I enjoy learning about something new and generally just listening you y'all be passionate.
Although I was initially disappointed in the decisions that were made for Watcher, I had a spark of joy when I saw that this podcast is continuing. There is just something about hearing you all talk about Rollercoasters that brings me so much happiness on a Tuesday during the work week. My trust is a bit hurt, but I'm here to weather the storm with you all. I'm truly excited for all the new content. Sending all my love.
I’m not a huge theme park fanatic, haven’t been to a theme park since I was in high school, 2016, but I *love* this podcast. One of my favorite things to put on while I work. Really hope this one doesn’t ever get cancelled as a result of any budgeting decisions made in the light of The Streaming Service Incident
This is one of my favourite feel good podcasts ever. I also like to grill my family and friends in line or on the drive to the theme park and do our own discussion on whether it’s world class or not. I have the links and questions saved in my Google docs.
I just wanna say FYA has made me appreciate theme parks so much more and it makes me want to visit more so much (I'm in IL and we only really have Six Flags)
I’m so grateful to see a new episode. This podcast is my favorite weekly treat! I hope y’all had some time to yourselves and I’m super happy to see you back!!
Just to let you know I love this pod and as someone who has been watching abandoned and defunctland sense there were 10k accounts you certainly have found a home with me thanks for continuing to post
Love this podcast!! No one in my world shares my love for theme parks, so it's so great having a little community that does!! Even if I'm just listening, makes me feel a little less weird haha
I’m so glad the lack of restraints for the bottom half of your body was brought up, because it’s one of the things I hate the most about this ride. Half the time, I end up diagonal in my seat after the last element. Personally, I also don’t really like the top restraints. Mainly, I wish they had some padding like Tatsu, but not quite as much. Half the time I’m lowkey hyperventilating on this ride and I feel like I can’t breathe because of the restraints 💀
I don't understand why this video doesn't have more views and likes. Love the Watcher pods and Coaster Studios is the best!! Thanks for covering one of my favorite "credits" of all time!!
Fun episode! Though I wouldn't consider myself a "coasterhead" or whatever the term is, I do look forward to these podcasts every week. Last week was brutal with no FYA!
I first rode this summer of 2003, and I remember waiting for over an hour because they said the summer heat meant they could only run one train. It seems like it was an operational nightmare for Magic Mountain
Disney needs to sponsor you guys. I literally had no drive or want to ever go to Disney again (only went twice) because I really don't care about any ride other than haunted mansion... Till you guys. This makes me want to like theme parks!
I’ll never forget the first and only time I rode x2, it was my 16th birthday and I got to bring a friend and we ran to straight there- both of so unbelievably excited and unprepared, we only had heard legends of how legendary x2 was- we collectively lost $120 out of our pockets our first ride of the day that day… it was an incredible time and I’m quite honored to have such an incredible coaster nearby but if that isn’t a testament to how absolutely batcrazy it is 😅
I have never had a positive experience on this ride. But still always went back. You can never be the one to chicken out in the group. The climb and the drop are absolutely insane. That combined with the roughness it’s a wild ride. Glad to see you cover it.
I am with Ryan. I have been on X2 over ten times and have ridden it on multiple seats, inside and out, and have never gotten hurt or sick from the experience. I've also, until now, never heard that there are special ways to ride it in order to avoid getting hurt. That being said, I'm sure people, like Sarah, have been hurt while on this ride. Every body is different, dimensions and endurance. To me, X2 is a smooth and wild ride that I will never miss when at SFMM.
I'm so glad this ride got coevered. This ride is a beast and absolutely a rope drop/ gate opening ride. I hope you guys do more coasters or credits like this.
A few years ago I went to Magic Mountain with my husband's family & the first thing they wanted to get on was X2. No one else had been on it or knew anything about it. I said hell no to starting my day on that thing waited with my MIL by the start of the queue, because she doesn't do thrill rides. About 30 minutes later, my FIL comes back by himself. We asked him what happened and he said "we got close enough to see the ride and I was like, I'm not riding that" 😂 so he got out of line and came back. Another 45 minutes go by and we see my husband and his siblings walking back. I told my in-laws, "they didn't get one that ride". They just didn't look like they'd just gone through a near-death experience. I asked them if something was wrong with the ride and they were like, how did you know??
Got to take my 10 year old step-daughter to Orlando two weeks ago! Her favorites were Tron and Expedition Everest. And I FINALLY got to go on Rise of the Resistance and Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure. They were both as great as y’all have proclaimed.
I have also gotten my head pinned to my chest on an extreme ride - I rode Kingda Ka at Great Adventure in NJ. i was told to keep my head pressed back during the launch on the way to the one big hill. when we got there and went briefly weightless, I think I must have relaxed my neck involuntarily, my head fell forward and was pinned to my chest the whole way back to the station. thank god it was a short ride, but painful.
Maybe I have a different perspective than other audience members here but it is wiiiillld to me that Watcher thought we wanted higher production shows because for me, Watcher has always been about loving the boys and just enjoying what they have to say about things. The fact that this is my favorite show on Watcher speaks to that.
I agree. That being said, I do think Watcher wants higher production values not just for us, but because it's their craft. They've always wanted to make "television-quality" shows. As a creative, I wouldn't be happy putting out low quality work all the time if I could do more with just a little extra time (and therefore money). I also love their low-fi content, but I can appreciate how they want to grow and expand their abilities to make work that they're proud of and find creatively fulfilling. We fell in love with their OG content (like Ryan's ghost PowerPoints, haha), so hopefully they'll be comforted by the knowledge that we truly don't need bells and whistles to love what they put out. However, I myself will support them as long as I can in pursuing their ambitions to become a company that creates quality content instead of farming fast-turnaround and low-effort content for views and ad revenue. Thanks for supporting this show! 🧡
i had told my brother about the inside outside seat thing. he really didnt care and he kept riding the outside seat after we went on like 5 times in a row.
ok im gonna say it. to me, whether a ride has a plotline doesnt impact the quality/enjoyment whatsoever. theming is nice, and i get how a comprehensive story makes sense for a universal ride, but it just doesnt apply to every type of ride out there. i couldn't give less of a shit or fuck if iron gwazi cant be made into a feature length film, i just want uppies. u get it glad yall are back and i always hope you get to keep making this pod! weekly listener :)
X2 is terrifying - I recall X when it first opened and it was so smooth. X2 feels like it flings you around more. Also yes, riding with the soundtrack and flames is a mind trip
Bro I did a full looney toon double take when I heard Byron say “Knoebels”. Growing up in rural PA, Knoebels was THE spot! I have so many fond childhood memories there, but I hate that god damn Phoenix 😂 it is an instant headache every time
I waited about 2 hours and talked myself out of riding it at the last minute (when I was a kiddo), should probably give it a try now lol 😅 glad to have all your perspectives, and beyond happy for the new episode! ❤

Same! I love this podcast because I love seeing people talk about subjects they're super passionate about! Just makes my day 100x better!
The tourists are happy you are back.
Iconic comment
Grinned when I saw this comment 😊
No notes. Great comment!

Agreed! I hope they see the comment and know they’re really hitting all the marks!!!
I was so worried that this show was canceled after… the incident.
DONT YOU EVER SCARE ME LIKE THAT AGAIN
I have lived in constant fear for the past 2 weeks, waiting for a new episode. So happy you guys are back!!
Ditto
We! are! BACK! Genuinely one of my favourite podcasts of all time and i'm not even a theme park head, love the format, the scoring rubric, everything. 10/10

I literally feel a rush of serotonin when I’m getting ready to watch this!
Definitely one of my favourite comfort shows
WE ARE SO BACK!!! So happy to have my silly theme park podcast 🥰
Thank you guys, love everything you talk about missed it last week ❤
So sick y’all got the actual GOATS of theme park TH-cam to appear on the pod! Coaster Studios are the reason why I was able to get more into rollercoasters in the first place.
i don't know if the watcher team will see this comment, but i wanted to say i love you guys! ❤
I am so glad you posted, need a little pick me up at work

This pod is the only good thing about Tuesdays 😂
Good to have y’all back 💛
Love this podcast! Keeps me sane between work and life and gives me something to look foward to! Thank you! Please take care and have a wonderful day!
So happy to have you back 🎉
WE LOVE YOU!!! ❤
I’ve got a messed up jaw and smartly chose to ride the X2. Spent an hour afterwards with my jaw stuck partially open it was a wild experience lmao
I'm not a park head and I adore this podcast. Change nothing. I enjoy learning about something new and generally just listening you y'all be passionate.

Really grateful you guys at watcher have a growth mindset and to be a fan of y’all
Welcome back guys ❤❤❤❤
I'm a die hard coaster enthusiast. The first time I rode X2 I had to consider if I wanted to ride again or if I needed a break.
So happy to see this pop up!
Yeahhhhhh!
Love this podcast
Having you guys back was a highlight to my day! Love the show and keep up the great work!!
So happy to see a new upload

X2 is absolutely insane and worth waiting 90 minutes. i wish the ride was longer, but the thrills are extreme.
Its worth like 45 minutes its a solid coaster but not the best at magic mountain
Great episode. Great guests (as per usual), but this was a fun treat. 🎉
This is one of my favourite feel good podcasts ever. I also like to grill my family and friends in line or on the drive to the theme park and do our own discussion on whether it’s world class or not. I have the links and questions saved in my Google docs.

We missed you! Sending love to y’all and the entire Watcher team
Now that I know we’re entering Six Flags territory, I’m so excited for y’all to go over Tatsu
Yes!!! This is the one ride I was hoping you would discuss!!!
I’m so grateful to see a new episode. This podcast is my favorite weekly treat! I hope y’all had some time to yourselves and I’m super happy to see you back!!
I actually died last week without this podcast. Thanks for being here to talk about theme parks with us!
Thanks for the heads up in the beginning
The 'Is Everybody In?' and 'the ceremony is about to begin' are all clips of Jim Morrison
Is it actually Morrison's voice? It's 100% a somewhat obscure "The Doors" reference, which I LOVE, but it doesn't actually sound like JM to me.
Dudes pulling all the top TH-camers and it shows
This podcast is too good we cannot let it die

19:29 the line is actually older than that, coming from Monty Python and the Holy Grail! But love that it was in Zoolander as well.
Fun episode! Though I wouldn't consider myself a "coasterhead" or whatever the term is, I do look forward to these podcasts every week. Last week was brutal with no FYA!
Woo new EP!!!
X2 was my first big girl roller coaster! Rode it during my 8th grade band field trip and have been a roller coaster lover since!
Yay! Welcome back, can’t wait to watch this weeks episode
The amount of awesome parks content creators this show has introduced me to is astounding. Love this podcast!
We are so back

X2??? With Coaster Studios??? I'm hyped. I just got to ride it for the first time in December. So worth the 3.5 hour wait.
ladies and gents, we are so back
Glad to see this! 🙌
I don't even like this podcast and I still watch it just to support lmao
Welcome back boys
So awesome to listen to an episode with Coaster Studios! One of my favorite channels! Would love to hear another episode with them in the future!! ❤
Lets go! Coaster Studios collab!! Keep up the great work. This pod is the best!!
I think the tourists missed you

X2??????!!!! we r so back
Viper was actually my first roller coaster. It was 2008. I loved it. I don't remember banging my head lol
Solid episode! I love the fact that Ryan recall feeling like he’s dying on some of these attractions 😂
What a cross over! Two of my favourite channels!
Looking forward to seeing more coasters getting talked about on this podcast with other coaster channels! Would love to see El Toro Ryan on here!
THIS IS THE BEST PODCAST
look at all those sponsors!!
Cant wait to watch pod watcher when youre back in LA, but for now, happy ghost hunting in the UK! And heyy byron!
Bro I did a full looney toon double take when I heard Byron say “Knoebels”. Growing up in rural PA, Knoebels was THE spot! I have so many fond childhood memories there, but I hate that god damn Phoenix 😂 it is an instant headache every time

Yay welcome back! I’m ready for coaster lore
I waited about 2 hours and talked myself out of riding it at the last minute (when I was a kiddo), should probably give it a try now lol 😅 glad to have all your perspectives, and beyond happy for the new episode! ❤
