Six flags magic mountain has probably one of the best (if not, THE best) coaster lineups of any theme park I’ve visited!!! I still remember when I rode 12 coasters in a single visit back in 2012!!! Need to get back there!!!
I beat my fear of coasters a ~month ago thanks to millennium force, just recently did Orion 10x back-to-back. I'll be honest - while I'm glad I can enjoy coasters now, there is definitely a part of me that's missing the genuine fear I was ezperiencing before
This is the best six flags park (Just got back from universal Orlando, chilling in the hotel room, today I got on 4 dark rides, 1 ride on velocicoaster, 1 ride on escape from gringotts, and 1 ride on rip ride rockit)
It depends on whether or not you just like coasters, because the flat ride lineup, operations, and park atmosphere make me prefer Fiesta Texas, and Great America.
I unfortunately do not live in cali anymore. I used to abd I’d be a regular at Magic Mountain, where the workers used to recognize me. Watching you ride the rides made me miss it and I really enjoyed watching you guys. Sometimes the videos get a little boring, but this was one of the better ones. I stayed to the end for you guys thanks for the video made me miss all those rides.
Yall r lucky man. Just stayed in downtown LA for a week and visited magic mountain. We have nothing like this in okc, literally the worst six flags in the US by a long shot. Wish i could go there every summer
A good friend of mine worked at Magic Mountain in the 70s, and told stories about how, after hours, the employees would start on Gold Rusher in the front seat, and see if they could scramble over the cars to get to the back seat before the ride was over.
When I was there in Nov. '19: 1: the smallest coaster I was allowed to ride was Road Runner Express Superman was down, and West Coast Racers wasn't open yet. 4: Tatsu; 3: Riddler's Revenge; 2: X2: 1: Twisted Colossus. I'd probably put Wonder Woman Flight of Courage at my #3 spot ahead of Riddler's Revenge and behind Tatsu. (idk about West Coast Racers but I've ridden Jersey Devil and loved it, so Flight of Courage is even better, especially for the park it's in.) I'd put Flight of Courage at #3, putting RR at #4 and West Coast Racers at #6 after Tatsu or vice versa. Then Viper comes in at #7 for me if not Full Throttle.
Man I was there 12 days before you. First time for me and probably last time...Being from CT it was a thrill. Wonder woman and Superman were closed....😢
wow, it is so good that you got to ride all those rides in one visit. do you have any tips to get as many rides as possible? clearly Sat and Sun are pretty busy. and any tips on how to record povs? thanks
I went to Magic Mountain in June 1976. The Great American Revolution, as it was called then, was way better than it is today. No trim brakes whatsoever. The last turn was incredible to watch when you walked by as you could see the steel bending from the trains when it rounded that last turn at such high speed. Not so much today. The trains almost come to a stop at the top of the last turn now. The Great American Revolution is a shadow if itself today. What Six Flags has done to it is criminal. Do they still have movie advertisements on the trains? I didn't notice. That was a lovely feature Six Flags added. And those trains? Talk about cornball heaven. Take a look at the way it used to look in the movie Rollercoaster released in 1977. I like your comments about all the rides. For such young guys, you appear to be experience riders.
My favorite six flags Great America is my favorite park in gurneel, Illinois. That's why I think you guys should go ride. Well, at coasters, the Goliath and Gurnee, Illinois boy and max force.
@@CoasterDash I totally agree with this guy! You’re reactions are so fun to watch and you always seem like you’re having a great time, and that makes you one of my favorite coaster TH-camrs oat ❤
Great video they never have all coasters running . As a kid in 70s gold rushed was only coaster when park opened they were first park you didn't need a ticket to ride , disney and Knotts changed after that
He doesn't have permission. Dude has 30k subscribers and has found a magic way to film at every park, that channels with 100k+ haven't? He's putting people in danger taking cameras on the rides. Just because he likes rollercoasters doesn't mean he should be filming on rides lol. And for what? Another shaky POV that 1000 other people have filmed. Dude just vlog the parks. Worst part is lying in the comments implying you have permission. If you break the rules of parks I don't respect you. Stop defending creators when they do dumb shit.
13:00 I think they got new trains for scream a few months ago, before it had been pretty rough. I like it when it's smooth. Just wish they put something in the parking lot, like by the helix at least.
Wasn’t The Revolution featured in the movie “Rollercoaster” with George Segal - I always remember the banked turn where the villain (Timothy Bottoms climbed over the track! )🧐
I personally love Goliath in the front, 3:25 golisth is actually 235 ft tall but the tunnel at the bottom makes the drop a 255 ft drop, no big mistake tho😊
I did 18 of MM's 20 coasters in 1 day from 10:45am to 3:07pm. Apocalypse was refurbing. In ride order: X², Tatsu, West Coast, Wonder Woman, Batman, Ninja, Superman, Riddler's, Goldrusher, Twisted Collossas, Scream, Goliath, Viper, Revolution, Full Throttle, Canyon Blastr, Hot Rod Racers, Roadrunner
The best fix to Full Throttle is to let it go through the tunnel, and a bit up the hill…go in reverse back into the tunnel and then continue the ride as it currently is. Just like the new Intimans with the shuttle portions.
I wish I could be at a decent park right now lol. And here I am at Kennywood opening day where there's 9 and a half minute dispatches for their giant discovery, 10 minute dispatches for racer, multiple ride closures, and 1 train ops on phantom and sky rocket. I have a great home park 💀
hey dude, i want to start recording povs and im going to buy a gopro hero 9 but idk what equipment i should buy, can i still record good povs with a hand strap, will parks allow me to bring a gopro?
Frickin love Magic Mountain! Have not been there in years but X and Tatsu were my favorites. Love Riddler's Revenge too. Thoroughly enjoyed watching your video.
I'd expect cedar fair to add to and develop the childrens area at Magic Mountain. Families bringing children always count as at least two admissions, generally less expensive rides, and a smaller area required. Childrens areas, if developed well, are cash cows. Magic mountain lacks in the childrens department. That and a park refresh would be $ well spent. Another big coaster would likely draw less new visitors than a childrens land. Especially with disney bleeding market share, it time to capitalize on the family market. Still i want a nice fancy new coaster that will motivate me to come back in 2026.
i put riddler last of all the thrill coasters. it hurt my legs so badly and gave me a headache, and didn’t do anything for me except for some positives in the valleys but i couldn’t enjoy those because every time there was a strong moment of positive g’s my legs would be in hell. i only rode it once so maybe ill have to give it another chance but was almost pure pain for me before
my rankings and opinions: X2 Twisted Colossus Tatsu (this and tc are interchangeable) Full throttle (this doesn't feel short to me cuz it does so much in its layout, also the brakes do at to the airtime) wwfoc (underrated, but still not comparable to the top 4 cuz the airtime isn't rmc ibox level ejector, and its basically just a more diverse b&m mini hyper) BIG GAP west coast racers (very diverse layout, but the airtime isn't too strong besides the first high five, and the comfort collars suck for me) riddlers revenge (standing doesn't mind me pls don't convert it to a sit down or floorless) apocalypse (I use to not like it but my tolerance for roughness got higher, airtime is kinda weak ngl) viper (a little janky but it doesn't bother me that much, VERY intense in the first half, second half gives super good hangtime) batman (overrated ride lol, for me not as intense as people say, I only gray out at the bottom of the loop and the rest is bland cuz it just does what flight deck does but worse) goliath (more intense than batman but batman is more consistent and has a better layout) scream (I don't think it's very intense with forces, but it's still very fun and the parking lot and almost nonexistent rattle don't bother me at all) revolution (the incredicoaster of six flags) im gonna ride superman today lol expect that in an edit
Definitely have to come here eventually! The coasters look too good! I’m curious as to which one is the higher ranked standing B&M, Riddler’s Revenge or Pipeline at Sea World Orlando?
I finally got to Magic Mountain last summer. X2 was probably my fav but the ops were absolutely terrible and did take away from the experience a bit. Literally 5+ min in between dispatches and a crew that just moved slow, barely spoke, and looked like they wanted to be anywhere else. But the ride itself is pretty awesome!
I really dont like twisted colossus. Has all the ejector, but lacks the sense of speed of goliath Scream is awesome so underrated. I love the intense forces in the valleys and the float and whip in the inversions high off the ground. I had a season pass and never was riddler open when i went last year. Sad. Love that thing
Random thought, but Intamin kind of made I-Box track before RMC did with Superman. Many also wonder what coasters would be like off Arrow were still around, but I’d be more interested in seeing what a newer Schwarzkopf would have brought to the table.
My rankings as of my most recent visit 1 Twisted Colossus 2 X2 3 Tatsu 4 Wonder Woman FOC 5 Batman The Ride (I only prefer SFOGs) 6 Viper 7 West Coast Racers 8 Apocalypse 9 Full Throttle 10 Ninja 11 Riddler's Revenge (I feel like the ride had so much potential the layout is probably top 5 when it comes to B&M) 12 Goliath 13 Scream 14 Superman Escape From Krypton 15 Revolution 16 Gold Rusher
As much as Twisted Colossus is awesome, I miss old Colossus due to its massive size you see in the parking lot. The size now on Twisted Colossus looks neutered lol 😂
I'm envious -- I wish I could've spent a quiet Monday at SFMM. I've not yet been there since it's on the complete opposite side of the country, and I haven't been able to manage a trip between the time of year I'm able to go with the park being quiet but having all the roller coasters open (or supposed to be open) with traveling expenses, etc.. Now I know a Monday in April is a good time to go, so maybe April 2025 will be when I finally make it there. I was very curious about what your opinion of Scream was going to be since I've heard nothing but how awful it is from multiple enthusiasts. Given that I have so many similar opinions on coasters that I've ridden as you do about them -- and you tend to like many coasters that most enthusiasts abhor but I like (Nighthawk at Carowinds for example), I'm going to trust your take on Scream. I thought it was great that you both mentioned how appalling Vortex is because it absolutely is -- I genuinely dislike that coaster, and I don't even ride it anymore at all when I go to Carowinds, which is pretty often since it's one of my home parks. Twisted Colossus, Full Throttle, and Tatsu have always looked like such great rides, and X2 is one of my bucket list US coasters. I've always had the impression that Apocalypse is a good woodie, and you substantiated that for me. I don't know why so many enthusiasts hate on Batman the Ride clones. I could care less that they are clones, and the one at Six Flags Over Georgia is a great ride -- intense as hell. I know that the one at SFOG is considered to be the best, but still I can't imagine that all the ones at other Six Flags parks are that much lower in quality than it. Being an amusement park ride enthusiast (with a slight obsession with them) as a kid, my father took me to see the movie, Rollercoaster, when it was released in theaters in 1977 (I was around 7 or 8 at the time), and The New Revolution was considered to be the most mind-blowing and insane roller coaster in the world at the time, being that it was the first coaster to include a vertical loop. I was sitting there in my movie theater seat awe-struck by the coaster. It did look so insane -- it goes upside down like that??? What??? The people riding it in the movie seemed like such hardcore, brave badasses to me. Now, the coaster seems like such a "kiddie ride". I'll admit, it does look pretty damn "blah", and it's a coaster that I wouldn't even care about not getting to ride on a trip to Magic Mountain.
@@CoasterDash You are very right about that. And "you're welcome" always for my comments. I really enjoy your videos. I always look forward to watching them. And I do trust your opinion on coasters more than any other enthusiast out there. I do consider you to be the top coaster enthusiast on TH-cam.
i havent went there but i did go to great adventure (a lot) and by looking at scream i can tell you its def a copy of medusa but it does look very fun. same with batman but im not saying thats a bad things its cool how these six flags locations are similar
#Request : Marc, will you PLEASE post a video ranking all of the mine train coasters you've ridden in North America and Europe. Not a single coaster vlogger has posted such a list at this point. Much appreciated! Keep up the great work, Man!
yoo Marc, very nice Video. I enjoyed it very much. Im from Germany and want to do a Trip to the US, and i need to choose from Oralndo (Seaworld Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa and Universal iod) and California (Six Flags Magic Mountain and Knotts Berrry Farm). What would be better in your opinion?
I'd start at the end of the park, like Twisted Colossus, Scream, and Batman, and work my way to the front. Everyone at the beginning normally lines up for the nearest ones (especially X2), causing the biggest lines. Maybe do X2 last because it's the craziest line and at least you'll have gone through the whole park already. I've done this and get through the park a lot more peacefully. Hope this helps!
I miss this place man last time I'll ever go was in December of 2023 the last time in final visit in years I went bruh and it was packed and ended so anti-climactic G....Then months later in 2024 I went to knotts after 10 years....
Hi Dashie! 1. Do you think riddlers would get the pipeline treatment? 2. My mom also tells me about how her and her brothers would marathonnn gold rusher back in the day lol 3. Viper is really that girl and I’m glad she’s getting her flowers on this channel and 5. Can we get a new bucket list coaster and even flat ride video since you’ve been on a lot of your dream coasters? K. Thanks.

Also the first drop on twisted colossus in the back gets you out of your seat for like 3 seconds
I was so worried for his camera on X2. I don’t know how he didn’t drop it.
I remember when they were building Superman. I was terrified looking how tall that thing was getting. Great video 🤙
I think something like big bear mountain would do great at magic mountain for their new coaster!
Seems like that could be a possibility!
Random thought, but Intamin kind of made I-Box track before RMC did with Superman. Many also wonder what coasters would be like off Arrow were still around, but I’d be more interested in seeing what a newer Schwarzkopf would have brought to the table.
My rankings as of my most recent visit
1 Twisted Colossus
2 X2
3 Tatsu
4 Wonder Woman FOC
5 Batman The Ride (I only prefer SFOGs)
6 Viper
7 West Coast Racers
8 Apocalypse
9 Full Throttle
10 Ninja
11 Riddler's Revenge (I feel like the ride had so much potential the layout is probably top 5 when it comes to B&M)
12 Goliath
13 Scream
14 Superman Escape From Krypton
15 Revolution
16 Gold Rusher
Scream was the only coaster I didn't get on when I was there. It was closed.
The evolution of roller coasters has been nothing short of astounding! Thanks for the comment 🙏🏻
Riddler‘s revenge used to be green black we would have our HS dances in front of that and scream. It was a lot of fun
Best park hands down! Don’t give me this “I prefer atmosphere over riders “ BS it’s always about the coasters
Eijaneika in Fuji-Q Highland is something similar to X2
Hey you guys. I'm a fan of your channel. When are you back in the UK? I'd love to meet up and ride some coasters with y'all
#Request : Marc, will you PLEASE post a video ranking all of the mine train coasters you've ridden in North America and Europe. Not a single coaster vlogger has posted such a list at this point. Much appreciated! Keep up the great work, Man!
Hey there! I’ll put that on my list. Thanks 🙏🏻
Best coaster line up in my opinion, even better than Cedar point.
4:57 OH NO NOT THE DOUBLE HELIX I FORGOT ABOUT THIS,,,, AAEÊÈÃÅEEÆÁÂÅAEEËE
15:12 famous last words before drop
Twisted Collasas was fun despite them jamming the lap belt in my gut
yoo Marc, very nice Video.
How did you get on all the rides in one day!?!? Is the fast pass necessary? I plan on being there 8/19 this year for my 40th bday!
Such a stacked lineup
I live by great America I remember Iron Wolf was stand up was a fun ride back in the day.
How are you filming rides without them telling you put your phone or camera away 🤷🏾♂️
I miss this place man last time I'll ever go was in December of 2023 the last time in final visit in years I went bruh and it was packed and ended so anti-climactic G....Then months later in 2024 I went to knotts after 10 years....
Nice video keep up the great work dash
Thanks!
Im going to six flags for the first time (in cali) but this MOTIVATED ME thanks :)
Hi Dashie!
K. Thanks.
Anddd what if they converted x2 to an axis coaster? I would not be upset.
I was there that same exact day but didn’t even see you lol! Lost my phone on full throttle and its gone but great video as always!❤
