- Hi everyone! Today we are back with our late entry to the Hard Mode Challenge, the family of Goneril Capp in Veronaville! This family, with 6 sims. begins in the Sim Bin with a mere $20,000 simoleons - can we even furnish a house for this many sims with that much money?? Tune in to find out!

I feel like Veronaville is super forgotten about
I’m so glad you decided to include this family! Usually Veronaville gets ignored when talking about the Sims 2 but it’s my personal favorite hood. It was my first introduction to Shakespeare as a kid
Oh my, I am so happy you added this family to the challenge! I really enjoy playing them and playing in Veronaville. So different from the other neighbourhoods. And great idea for the extra gameplay challenge!
Love this series! As a thought: what about giving the families a point for making a new friendship outside the immediate family? I feel like that would be a challenge since none of the sims seems to have time to go out and socialize

This actually looked even harder than I was expecting! Takes me back to playing these guys, I have a real soft spot for them. I think them having just £20k is definitely just an oversight because they’re obviously from a wealthy background, when I played them I had Consort give them a chunk of his wealth! But, I can’t wait to try them in these challenge conditions. Its so awesome that you took some ideas from my spreadsheet, I will definitely add/subtract more for reaching the top of career and also getting fired vs regular promotions and demotions. I was also thinking that I’d consider ‘power wants’ as everything over 2,500 points, so make a friend would be one, but the make $100 wouldn’t because even though it has the star its only like 100 aspiration points. I love how your builds have allowed me to get stuck straight into the gameplay which I really needed after focusing on modding and downloads organising for so long so thank you🤩 Oh it was weird to see Goneril’s hobby not being cuisine, I forgot that I ‘recalculated’ the OTHs for my game, I wonder what it will turn out to be! Can’t wait to see more❤️

thank you for providing so many long sims playthroughs to keep my sims itch satisfied while i study for my exams next week! i'm so tempted to play but this is keeping me on track by living vicariously through you!
a tip for growing tots up platinum! lock a skill want and only teach them about halfway, then the day they grow up, teach them the rest. they'll be nice and platinum for birthday and you have a little more time to do other things for a day or two! I'm actually stupidly fond of veronaville and of goneril's family specifically...I love her features despite how severe they are. extra babies from these two are always so fun looking!
I don't think I've ever played this family without dropping a money cheat on them. It just doesn't make sense lore-wise for them to have such a small bank account.
Also, some name suggestions for the fifth Capp child, all pulled from my Complete Works of William Shakespeare...
Boys: Warwick, Edmund, Marcus, Marshal, Thomas
Girls: Emilia, Imogen, Tamora, Rosaline, Helena
Finally, as an editor: in the clause, "Miranda's cynical and rebellious," the apostrophe-S isn't a possessive marker, it's a contraction of "is," similar to, well, "it's." So "Miranda's cynical and rebellious" is not a typo, and in fact is absolutely fine grammatically.
You did a great job with their house, feels like it suits their needs & style even with their lack of funds. I am so in awe at you going for the over-achiever wants in these households, I don't think I have EVER achieved that even in the "easy" households, teen jobs just leave so little time for homework and the money they bring in is so tiny it doesn't usually feel worth it. Very excited to see the next round, especially the Ottomas since the difficulty of them bumps up for sure when the twins arrive!
Once you adjust the total points, maybe you could make things harder for the winning family by giving them the Critturs as their pets. If you’re no longer using the control pets and cancel pet actions cheats keep in mind they are both very destructive and have been trained to eat sim food not pet food. I lost them to the animal control welfare cop a few times for starvation before I realised that you have to train them to eat pet food, even when food is available they wouldn’t eat it (which is unlike any real dog in the history of dogs ever, not to eat any food available anywhere anytime). Great series so far, lots of fun.
Oh gosh, how the heck do you train them to eat pet food then without control pets on?? Poor doggies! Sounds like fun haha
@@TeaAddict I think I did it by having a full pet bowl available, interrupting a sim serving food so the sim puts the platter on the floor, then when the dog eats the sim food scold them. So after a bit they eat pet food, then praise them. Give treats when possible to prevent them starving so much the welfare cop comes. (That usually happened when sims were at work or school, no-one to feed them treats. If the pet has a job they do get fed at work too, that helped). But this was so long ago because I have the pet control cheats in my userstartup file now, I think that was how I did it but it was certainly a challenge.

I never realized you weren't acquainted with the Veronaville families. I've played them so much so it was nice to see a fresh perspective with them. They definitely have it rough, but you're already getting into a groove wtih this challenge. I may give it a go too! :D

What's interesting is that Albany took Gonerils (spelling? lol sorry) last name, I think I remember reading in their family description about that!
Yeah it is interesting, I guess coming from a family as prestigious as the Capps ... You take their surname haha
@@TeaAddict If you look at the family tree the Capps are actually a matriarchal family in contrast the Montys which are patriarchal. Consort to Contessa's last name when they married, same thing for Caliban and Cordelia. Juliette is heir to the family, same with Romeo. I think it was meant to add to the stakes of their love affair.
This makes me miss my Veronaville!!! My hood got corrupted about a year ago and I haven't played since. But this family had 10 kids and it was hectic, only 1 set of twins as well.
I've honestly never done a proper playthrough of the hood but this has tempted me!
@@TeaAddict it's one of the prettiest hoods i think, especially when you decorate it, there is a remake of veronaville on modthesims that adds more families from the plays that really helps the gene pool

I can't remember if it comes in Albany's bio or it was just his LTW, but in my game he wants 6 kids and I think it says somewhere that he a 'stay at home dad' A SAHD who doesn't know how to cook or clean, sure.
I also got her pregnant right away but because I felt she didn't really want anymore I had them adopt the 6th. So you could do that.
Maybe you can start checking bios, since I noticed here you didn't.

I'm pretty sure the jobs and the funds were overlooked for the Veronaville bin families. The Capps are supposed to be Goth levels of rich. Goneril has just the right amount of skills to be business level 7.

I forgot!! 😳😳 At first yes they were too poor but then I just clean forgot lol. I realised while I was editing lol. Will have to rectify that next part!

I was saying how you didn't check bios and then you did and how I read somewhere, maybe its in the family bio? That Albany is suppose to be a SAHD. Not that you have to do that, but since it's in the bio maybe you could add that as an extra challenge?
Maybe once Goneril is a bit higher up in her career! - But I will have him take the vacation days / parental leave if I can!
why does sims 2 crash on newer computers
There can be lots of different reasons for crashes and there are lots of fixes you can do. Generally speaking, you need to make sure you have the game patched with the 4gb patch and that you've run graphics rules maker. If you play with mods and cc, that can cause crashes too and you need to have skills to solve that - lots of information is available online to help with any crashes you might be getting 😊
