Personally I would only count need fails that Sims remember to some sort. That would be bladder, energy and social when the social bunny arrvies. All other needs may go to 0 but can't 'fail' since Sims will only complain then which in game doesn't make much of a difference. Hunger would be an exception but they die then anyway which should give a deduction anyway.
Yeah mega bad points for starving to death 😅 or death of any kind haha

Agree that having people stay home for college would be awesome, I think it keeps the chaos of this series at the highest it can be. Loving this series! :))

I agree with another comment left earlier, David could stay home to do college, as Grandma is not long for this world, and he kind of has his own space in his little garage apartment.
For counting need failures, i think the ones that should count are hunger (this ones kinda hard to ignore 😬😂) energy, bladder and social, as these all have a big consequence compared to the remaining motives.
Also you can have up to 10 sims in a household in vanilla, with the combination be a Max of 8 sims and 2 pets, or 4 sims and Max of 6 pets for the total.
So lovely to see regular videos again, you're doing such a great job at all of the things!
Yeah he does have a really great bedroom space I know, he could make it his little uni cave.
Thank you for the thoughts on need fails, I agree those ones are the major ones compared to like, hygiene and environment and comfort!
Also I didn't know that about 10 Sims, awesome. That will make adding pets easier 👍🏼
Just found this series (and your channel) yesterday, so this was a nice surprise!
I think I'd say keeping them home through college makes sense. Even if it means extra adults to help with the kids, I still think it's more difficult the more sims you have in a household, especially if you're trying to fulfill their wants and keeping them on track with their studies at the same time. I've also never used that mod, so I'd be intrigued to see how it works haha
Tommy's age is weird. Looks like his age is frozen in time. He starts with 4 days from aging up.

In my game for the ottomas's they had 6 kids as grandma's ltw was to have 6 grandkids. (I play with more than 8 sims mod)
For the newsons I never got them into private school because in my head canon they wouldn't want to alert authorities that they don't have any adults in the home

I'd say that David might feel obliged to stay at home to study, but in the immediate aftermath of Grandma dying. So initially he would move out and then once she passes, he could pop by (or move back in) until the toddlers are kids?
I've never used the college in the main hood mod, so I'm intrigued on how it would be set up. 🤣😇
Also, I think that you can't add any pets atm as the number of sims/pets can't be higher than 8 in a household, unless you add in a mod that allows more (which I would be ok with you using)

I love watching the hectic life of this full house unfold. Whenever I play university I always age up a bunch of teens from the neighbourhood bin, and have fun watching the chaos. I also end up micromanaging everything so they all pass their classes with A+. After watching RyanPlaysTheSims' channel, I really wanna try making a Greek house with as few cheats as possible.
ohh a fresh Greek house is something I've only tried once, that would be a fun challenge
@@TeaAddict I have always had a soft spot for Strangetown. Would usually put my OC, David Ottomas, Ginger Newson, Johnny Smith, Ophelia Nigmos, Stella Terrano, Ripp and Tank Grunt into the same college dorm. I liked pairing Ginger and David together, and Tank with Stella (I always liked to think that Tank overcame his predjuices after failing flirts with alotta the college girls and his study partner became his best friend in the end 🥰) Ripp tries to seduce everything that moves, meanwhile Johnny and Ophelia are the high school sweethearts as always. Thinking on my 2nd university cycle I will put some of my OC's half siblings, Jill Smith, Buck Grunt, maybe Gavin Newson, too (I like to pretend that he was saving up for college with a part-time job cuz of him being a fortune sim.)
A tips for the job promotions are to use the aspiration benefit points on the work tree and get the "Friends in High Places", it makes the friend amount less of a difficulty :)

Btw, new game starts on the last fay of summer so that new sims from CAS can easily make new friends on their first day and focus in building their skills in the next few autumn days.

Is peter a light sleeper? I think they will wake up to sounds in the next room.
I wouldn't count hygiene. I would do college in the main hood. If you want a memory of doing uni you will need to age them with Squinge's YA cake.
Yeah I think he did get the light sleeper trait! I just wouldn't have thought it would count a sound coming from a different room through a hallway 😅

Just getting caught up! I will go against the grain and say I necessarily don't want David to stay home for college - getting college ages to sync up properly with the rest of the household sounds really difficult! I also think it would be nicer for him to get some time away from the main house and get the real "college experience" (even if it is off-screen and only in my imagination, haha! I would feel bad for him trying to study in this madhouse.) That said I'm definitely curious to see how college in a main hood works and will enjoy the series whatever you decide on :D congrats on getting David to the overachiever status!!

That’s an interesting idea for college, I was thinking they’d just go to live in the sim bin but seeing that mod in action would be really interesting and I’m curious whether it would add more chaos or keep a helping pair of hands around.
At first when you counted hygiene I thought ‘nah’ but then I thought about it some more and I think I perhaps would count the stink cloud as a failure. Its hard to call for some of them, like at what point does hunger fail? When their stomach starts rumbling perhaps?🤔

Did you set up this 'hood before removing all your mods? If so, that might explain why Tommy has extra days in his Toddler stage. I don't recall him being one of the premade Sims who has a weird lifespan. Speaking of premades with weird life spans, next time you're with the Capps, take a look at Hal and Desdemona's time left in the Child stage, because their Child stage has two fewer days than the default.
Also, Editor Comment: The E in "chili con carne" is not silent. Spanish doesn't really do silent E.

The hood was technically set up before redoing my mods folder yes but the Ottomas family was just chilling living their best lives in the Sim bin. I am not sure if anything could have really happened to Tommy while he was in there? It's a thought though!

If you had any lifespan mods pre-reshuffle, that might have done something... though I'm not sure a lifespan mod would work on stealth hood bin Sims, as they're created from a stealth hood template which has them with default lifespans.
Sims 2 has all sorts of weird bugs, so really, who knows? Maybe April Black could figure it out, she's pretty amazing at sussing out glitches.
Tommy having 6 days is weird. I think you need to override that.
Getting David to overachiever is nearly impossible. Good job.

I think being stinky is a needs fail. Some sims fear other sims or pets being stinky.
The Ottomases are glitched with the woohoo cutscene. They always have one. It's why I have cutscenes off. I think a few other bin families might have the same glitch.
oh fun, so we just get to enjoy the cutscene every time they woohoo, that's hilarious 😄 Water balloon fights will be great for spring and summer lol
@@TeaAddict Kicky bag also works but you need a higher relationship for kicky bag than water ballon fights for some reason.
Could you send a link for your mods list? Or something along those lines. It would be very helpful to know which mods to use if want to use them for our game as well.
