    I sold some lenses and first purchased the outstanding Sony 70-200 GMii and today I get the other outstanding Sony 24-70 GMii. These are my professional work horse lenses used on the mighty A7R5/A7IV camera bodies. They will definitely pay for themselves.

    thanks for the review!!!! this lens is THE best 24-70 zoom i've used in my entire career....nothing has even come close...the size, weight, build quality, dampening....all make this a spectacular lens ... paired with the 70-200 f2.8 GMII and you can do a LOT of amazing work.

    Totally agree across the board. I've only had it for a minute but what I love about it so far is I'm not constantly swapping from my 24mm GM prime to my 50mm GM prime every other minute.
    It's turning out to be a great grab & go lens for a multitude of my own video or photography scenarios.

    • @lilafromyoutube
      @lilafromyoutube  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      agreed! I bought the 24mm a while ago but haven't used it since i've gotten this lens. People always say that primes are sharper (which they are) but honestly this lens is so good i don't really care for primes haha. I'll always choose convenience over anything

      Yes! I love my 24-70 and wouldn’t go back to the tamron. However, it’s a big price tag so it needs to make sense for you. Have you looked into the sigma 24-70? I don’t own it but I heard it’s better than the tamron and cheaper than the Sony lens

    I wonder how this lens stacks up in quality against the Gen 1. I have been using the Gen 1 for nearly 6 years now, since they launched it. Yes, 200 grams lighter, that is a lot, especially if it is on a gimbal during a 9 hour shoot for a full day. It means less stress on my back and less strain overall.

    • @lilafromyoutube

      I have it and will change back to Gen 1. This gen 2 is sharper, but....busier bokeh/ less round bokeh balls with more texture inside as the gen 1. It lacks character and the overall rendering of the gen 1 is more dreamy and the gen 2 is too clinical...

    At 3:08, well honestly Sony is not well known for weather resistant gear. A friend of mine is wildlife shooter with two A1s and had severe problems after using it in rain. Water entry at shutter button, the Sony guys responsible for warranty claimed she dropped it into water (false accusation is a felony also in Austria) and refused to fix it. Get a Sony, got problems if you need help. That's like so since ever, long before they made cameras. The nonplusultra is the Leica SL series and the SL lenses.

    Investment ? Wrong!!!. Here's the definition of "Investment". Bottom line: don't buy unless you know what you are doing.
    An investment is an asset or item acquired with the goal of generating income or appreciation. Appreciation refers to an increase in the value of an asset over time. When an individual purchases a good as an investment, the intent is not to consume the good but rather to use it in the future to create wealth.
