Nice choice! That's the next level up from the Underground Series (and a little more expensive of course). Hopefully we can cover the Clutch at some point in the future 👍
I used to own this exact same model and the review matches the observations I made. I tried Elk Master tip, Pechauer Jade medium and Kamui medium. Le Pro was the worst; best was the Pechauer Jade medium. Kamui black felt a bit too hard. Changing the tip made a world of difference. Good review, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed the review! Yes, changing the tip can completely change (almost always improve!) the characteristics of the cue. Softening the hit a touch on this Viper Underground would be a big plus 👍
The price is higher but I think cuetec avid is a great cue for the beginner cause of their warranty and cuetec’s durability over the years and once they reach average or above average they can keep shooting with it cause of the performance or upgrade to their carbon fiber shaft or even scorpion I shot with 2 different scorpions they kick ass
Yes, absolutely! There is zero question that a Cuetec Avid would be a FAR better cue than this budget Viper Underground. But starting at $229 the Avid is close to 7x the price, so they are not really directly comparable as they are leagues apart. But the advice of spending more on a cue (if you can!) if you want to take it seriously is good advice indeed 👍
This is not such a bad cue for the money. But if you can afford a better one please do . And about this channel I knew a little about working on pool tables when I found this channel we were putting on some new felt on my just bought Brunswick gold grown 1 nine footer after us watching some of his videos we put that Andy’s pro tour 988 with no problems he really knows what he’s doing and takes his time so you can understand I love this channel
Nice review early 2,000's i don't remember LePro being Hard , the one on that cue is same on my Player cue but if i look up Lepro on Seybert Billiards Lepro look brown
Yes absolutely, if budget allows then Lucky is a much better cue (and double the price of course). The other brand you are thinking of is Star by McDermott, and those start at around $200 - over four times the price). Valhalla by Viking at $110 is also a much better cue (but nearing 3x the price). Remembering you can pick these Viper Undergrounds up for around $40 they are a good beginners option (or good option for people on very tight budgets). For the money being spent, they are a strong choice 👍
I understand what you’re saying. However I was coming from is that a player. Can grow with this cue, without rushing to replace it. Due to the better quality and performance. Not to mention they also have break jump cues. Another piece of equipment players want. For not a lot of money. Which is great because prices right now are crazy.
@@ninjacow63 I agree with you 100%!!! Cues like Lucky and Valhalla offer the best performance available for that kind of money, and are superior to virtually any $50 cue you'll find. But, on the flipside of that, there is still a strong market for $50 cues. If you are able to spend $100 rather than $50 you'll get a much better cue for sure, but unfortunately not everyone can. Hope that makes sense, lol!!
I don't know if they are sponsored reviews, but I am going to give my opinion even if I would hardly need it to have it in my hand. - The bad thing about these low quality tacos is always the soleta. Even with a low-quality "medium hard" sole, it is not enough to prevent a rookie from making pits when trying to reverse. That the soleta does not hold up to chalk well is a sign that you should not buy that cue. He's going to leave you stranded even if he takes every hit. Since its adhesion usually fails and if you put more chalk on it, it will also fail. I don't care if it's brand name or generic, it's not worth buying this type of tacos. - Leather should not be put on any heels. And less fake leather, since it gives off more heat than normal wood. Your hands will sweat and it's quite pleasant. I would never recommend heels with low quality leather, and I don't care if you live in the North Pole. Better with thread that provides freshness. The difference is brutal. - The fact that the caps stain the ferrule is a nuisance. They are not directly usable, but they are clearly made with a laser printer. So I would throw them in the trash directly. -As for the drawings, everything that is not inlays will be erased with use, it will be scratched and everything will look ugly, as soon as the mini layer of lacquer that they put on these tacos disappears. - Let's not fool ourselves, maple wood is bad, it gets dirty and droopy just by looking at it, and they make it like that and then sell you cleaning products. Do you know the difference between a 50 cue and a 300 cue with a fiberglass arrow? To clean it I only need ispropyl alcohol, which is cheap XD I don't know how you can give 4 stars to a product that is not suitable for playing pool. Is it better than playing with a court cue? Yes, but it is not enough to advance in the pool. A rookie will never learn to play pool with a low quality cue. -I say this from experience. In 2 months that you play you will regret having bought a cue at this price. When you discover that you can play better with a low deflection arrow XD.
Thank you for sharing! To answer your question, no the reviews are not sponsored, and in the case of this review we purchased this cue ourselves direct from Amazon for this review video 👍
Another great video. Thx. A few months ago, you reviewed the Viking Valhalla and I bought one because of your rating. I’m looking to move on and buy my first carbon fiber. Any suggestions? My budget is up to about 700. Thx.

Excellent review as always.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
I currently have the Viper Clutch Lights Out and enjoy it tremendously.

Would love to see a review on the cheapest break/jump cue you could find on Amazon..
Great suggestion! 👍

Can you make a review about the Champion Green dragon cue?
We'd love to review a Champion cue. Hopefully in the future 👍
Nice review early 2,000's i don't remember LePro being Hard , the one on that cue is same on my Player cue but if i look up Lepro on Seybert Billiards Lepro look brown
Yes, LePro are definitely towards the harder side. Medium-Hard to Hard. Yes, they are brown (as is the LePro tip on this cue). Hope that helps 👍
Hi I’m really stuck between getting a Valhalla by Viking and a lucky cue. Can I get ur advice?
Both are excellent options, so there's not really a right or wrong option! We are hoping to do a Lucky review before too long 👍
First! Awesome Channel btw
That was quick, and thank you 👍
You’re better off getting a McDermott Lucky cue. Or the other McDermott budget brand. That I can’t remember the name right now.
