I would love to see you try this again, since you beat it. Usually after doing a drill, at least I find doing it again a lot easier since I know i've done it before, i'd love to see you do this again since i'd want to know how long it would you take you to do it after already doing it once, you might even do it again for twice in a row
This is just absolutely mind blowing to me. No rails, no hitting other balls. The level of physical and mental skill here is just incredible. Well done
This shows how important the mental game is, you found even routine shots so difficult under pressure, but drills like this can recreate high pressure when you're practicing, which is great. I, like many other players, need to learn to play _through_ pressure, as it's simply a distraction at the end of the day, no matter how powerful it is. But the more practice at that, the better.
Absolutely right. When you know that messing up the shot means you have to set up 49 balls and start all over again, it definitely creates a pressure component that doesn't exist with a lot of other drills. That being said, I'll probably try this with half the table or something, because where the hell am I going to store 2+ more racks of balls?
@@jama211 You two are absolutely right. For people who don't have anything to do it probably seems odd, but most pool players can relate with that. I've been really close a couple of times, and it was so devastating and time consuming that I just needed to make it in that attempt. Luckily I grinded through. Thanks for your comments :)
But these shots are not actually “routine.” While on the surface many of the shots appear easy, rarely are we shooting these shots while requiring such precision. If anything. This drill seems to help people be precise, when we’re tempted to lazily just shoot “easy” shots.

Marvellous! amazing! I am not a pool player so I was stunned by your ability to: 1) Hit a ball without being concerned as to whether or not the ball would actually go in the pocket. That's a given for you. The concern being where the cue ball would end up. 2) Never let the cue ball hit the kerb or whatever it is called. 3) Never let the cue ball hit another ball. 4) Think sometimes 4 moves ahead like a chess game.
@@skatingpigeon That adjustment he made was within the spirit of the challenge. They were all supposed to be exactly on the dots, so to fix some that were not exactly right was fine.

i am very proud of you. my longest shot streak was 16 balls to overtake an opponent that had me 2-1 on a race to 3 must win to advance to next round because we were tied, points wise heading into the next round. so i understand those nerves and having to control the emotions, the body, the mind, the stroke and that wanna go where it wants to cue ball. trust me.. after that.. i smoked and drank a bit that night. made MVP that night.

What an impressive display. Loved hearing you talk through the options and strategies. Great control of the cue ball too. Congratulations!
Thanks so much!
Absolutely amazing. Very few people in the world would have the skill and patience to pull that off. Awesome stuff.
Well done, body, total workout. Controlling speed, finesse. Thanks good video.
Excellent! So glad you did it my friend 😊
I can't believe you did this in only a few days. This seems shockingly difficult. Absolutely impressive!
Very, very impressive! Excellent work, and a joy to watch you complete the whole thing! Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
FANTASTIC - I HAD SIMILAR DRILLS ON THE PUTTING GREEN AND I KNOW HOW INTENSE IT CAN BE TO SUCCEED A DIFFICULT DRILL TO PERFECTION. GREAT JOB. AMAZING.
Great job with the patience, set ups. Awesome.
Your control and angling are amazing! Congratulations! It was a wonderful and magical watch.
wow. that was fantastic. you had me on the edge of my seat watching this video. your commentary on your nerves, emotions and technical strategy was what really made it. bravo.
Such amazing touch. I really appreciated the commentary also
Marvellous! amazing! I am not a pool player so I was stunned by your ability to:
1) Hit a ball without being concerned as to whether or not the ball would actually go in the pocket. That's a given for you. The concern being where the cue ball would end up.
2) Never let the cue ball hit the kerb or whatever it is called.
3) Never let the cue ball hit another ball.
4) Think sometimes 4 moves ahead like a chess game.
Thank you so much! This is very well summarized. Many people who don’t play pool don’t understand how complex the game can be, but you were spot on!
Great job! Not only no rails, but also not touching any other balls. Excellent work!
One rail was hit at exactly 15 min into the video.. th-cam.com/video/9LbZoGCxCXc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PNenp1aoIoaBK2J1&t=900
Apart from with his hands 🫤
@@skatingpigeon That adjustment he made was within the spirit of the challenge. They were all supposed to be exactly on the dots, so to fix some that were not exactly right was fine.
@ shouldn’t he have made sure of that before the challenge?? Not when it suited him?
@@skatingpigeon It didn't make a difference in any of the shots.
excellent.... superb job.... watched the whole thing. Your comments were enjoyable. Envious.
Even my wife, who is delighted when one ball goes down, enjoyed watching this video. Gripping and awesome play....
Congratulations!!! You are ready for primetime! Go for it.
The best verbal thought process for pool ever. Learned so much. Thank you!
Not many people could pot those 49 using the rail. To do it without touching it once, hats off to you sir. Well done. Hopefully we get the chance to play in a tournament some day.
What a great drill. Building a mold to lay over the table to quickly put the balls back into place would be a nice project.
The accuracy and control was amazing!
Fantastic work and perseverance!! Congratulations!!
Thanks for your efforts!!
Great Job!!! I’m an amateur pool player and I don’t play much anymore, but watching you do this almost impossible ‘challenge’ is something I could watch everyday! I might pick up my cue again and give it go. Again, GREAT JOB!!! 👍
congrats! so awesome to be witness to this dedication and accomplishment, well deserved 👏
Thank you!
damn dude you have more than earned my sub. the level of determination and self control you must have to not rage quit is beyond me
This was astonishing to say the least! And I LOVED watching every minute of it! BRAVO!
Great video. Easily earned a new subscriber here. I have only completed this challenge one time in my life but had to do it only making each ball on a bank shot or combination shot. No direct cue ball to object ball pockets. It was amazing. That was a joke. Great video.
I would love to see Reyes do this.... don't get me wrong, this is amazing and I know (kind of) what skill is needed to do this. And I'm not trying to take anything away from you Bro. Now I want to see the greats do this now that you showed me it.
My stomach was in knots! Thanks!
Not sure how TH-cam got me here, but man was I rooting for you so hard. Congratulations! What a great feat of physical skill and mental perseverance
That was awesome! Wow!! Thank you for sharing this. I think at my speed I’ll start with thirty balls.
That was incredible control and planning!!! I learned a lot. 👏👏👏
definitely trying this! thanks for posting it uncut!
I'm not much of a player, but I recognize talent and skill when I see it. Bloody marvelous!
Good run, but I gotta say as an old timer, these new tables and balls are so precise. Makes the game 10x easier than it was only 20-30 years ago.
Of all the "games" out there and all the time men spend gaming, this game of patience, skill, and tactics has to be the most rewarding.
Can't imagine how many retakes, there's just zero margin for error in this game of micro millimeters. Amazing, amazing job 👏👏
Long games like this are how you work on your mental game. I play a lot of rotation and find that when I am really high on points is when I slow down and start getting into "tourney mode", and that is FRIGGIN EXHUASTING! but also some of the best practice I can do and I know it. (ugh)
Regarding this drill, I can do it in my sleep on the first try. But then I wake up lol. Great video!
very impressinve, being able to pot while getting into position for the next shot is a big part of pool but to do that without using cushions and with 49 balls on the table and without hitting any other ball is next next level, cheers for this it was very entertainingg to watch
Thanks!
I knew, before you even said it, that this was from Darren's site. That guy is amazing at drills like this.
This is the first upload of yours Ive watched. Very educational to snooker pool and billiards players for close control and planning a break.
Watching the thought process is phenomenal; brilliant work.
Congrats! You really worked hard and it paid off. I enjoyed this and i could tell how hard you worked on it. Probably your best video!
Wow, thanks!
That's impressive to complete after going for 12 hours at it. Dedication to honing and demonstrating the skills!!
Nerves of steel! Incredible focus!
i am very proud of you. my longest shot streak was 16 balls to overtake an opponent that had me 2-1 on a race to 3 must win to advance to next round because we were tied, points wise heading into the next round. so i understand those nerves and having to control the emotions, the body, the mind, the stroke and that wanna go where it wants to cue ball. trust me.. after that.. i smoked and drank a bit that night. made MVP that night.
27:03 That's exactly what I was thinking the whole time, 'my goodness, he had to have commented on every video that he failed'. What torture. Great job finnishing the 'drill'. A drill I'd be lucky to get 3 in a row.
Your skills are unreal. Completely insane
Congratulations! Way to go.. way insipiring.! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
At first, I didn't realize you were narrating while doing it - and the various video highlighting of the ball choices was great too
Amazing video (and performance)!
