Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I th-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

*Works so well **Fastly.Cool** that it only requires daytime operation until high temp and humidity are overnight. It is difficult to get to side filters, but back is easily accessible.*

This how-to still works! I just replaced my vent cover in under 30 minutes which included the time watching this video. Nice to see that RVs are still manufactured to "don't leave this outside" standards.

I'm with you Vinny. I just opened the vent lid about half way, pushed the split metal rail to the side and slid out the plastic guide wheel then slid the Vent lid off. Slid the new Vent lid on and crimped the ends. Pushed the split metal rail to the side and reinstalled the plastic guide wheel. Piece of cake! It took longer to climb on the roof than to do the repair! When I went to Camping World to get the part they were going to charge me 64 dollars for someone to see which lid I needed. I looked on the wall and there was a display of the different hinges so I picked it out myself. Two vent lids were on sale for $13.97 each! So for $29.62 I have two vent lids installed!! Unbelievable!

Yyyeah, I'd rather have a little less "ventilation" to let the summer heat in and the winter cold in--and my expensive AC and heat out!--and also a few less HOLES in the top and sides of my house eager to take their turn at leaking. RV manufacturers have a lot of nerve cutting the corners they do and then charging the prices they do. No judging at you two guys--thanks for the vid, it was very helpful.

Great info guys. Here is what makes me crazy the manufacturer’s want the rooftop checked for leaks and cracked caulking but my roof is not walkable. So I asked the dealer how do these rooftop repairs when you can’t walk on it they told me to contact the manufacturer and ask them guess what they told me. You guessed it they told me to call the dealership. So my next unit will have a walkable rooftop. Maybe you guys could do a video to help with this issue.

What hacks, they didn't pinch the metal tabs on the new lid! LOL, This video was all show to make it look easy, the camera angles didn't hid the supposed pinch of the new lid end tabs AND most importantly, they didn't grease the open/close handles' gear!! You can tell they didn;t since not only didn't they mention to do it but you can also SEE the new lid STICK at the end of the video when they demonstrate the new lid opening and closing as it binds and bounces while it sticks. I remember when I didn't care and just banged out the work for money, except I was 13.

I can figure out what to do by this video, but it's really not very good. They do go over in some detail about the slide mount, and discuss how to do that, then they say "but the more complicated part is inside" and say not one word about that process, besides using industry jargon without defining their terms and saying it's the hard part. They also don't mention that there's (I think) 3 primary attachment styles, one of which is the slide type shown in this video. That would help the person below that asks for closeup of the slide end pins (I don't know the industry jargon, so I may not use standard terms). I'm guessing that if you take top, rear, and side photos of the mounting rail to your store, and have the year/make/model info, they'll probably be able to figure out what style of mount you have, and get you the right cover. If they can't, it's very possible it's not a very good store, and you might want to try another. (my local RV store said to bring in photos of the rail, and they could identify from the photos)
The presenters do have a nice banter and verbal style, but I'd rather have less chat, and more instruction, or at least more instruction with same chat. They may have given this instruction, and whoever edited it removed that info. If so, the editor needs education and retraining as to what a "how to" video is, vs a cute or fun video.
As to the question from Michael Crim below, yes, you do have to dissasemble the inside. That's the "hard part" they reference, but show only very quickly and don't discuss.
Finally, the intro music was awful, and totally a waste of time in a how to video. I know that yes, it's corporate branding, and promo, but when you make that corporate branding unpleasant for a LOT of your audience, it's really not the best idea now is it....

Hello, I noticed next to your right leg and blanket that there is a small, rounded object coming out of the roof and it has a cover on it too. What is that? I bought a new RV Keystone Cougar and went up to clean my solar panels and I noticed something similar on my roof. It was round but I didn't see a cover, so I'm concerned. I have never seen one until now. My previous RV didn't have one. Thanks
