    I had the original and kept breaking mounts, so this is a nice upgrade. I ultimately moved to the Sennheiser MKE 200 because its small and light weight, and the enclosure does a really good job of blocking wind... so it's easier to take out and about without breaking it. Its only a touch heavier than this new micro 2, so I'll probably stick with it.

    That NTG sounds amazing! I think the main thing I’d want the micro 2 is for that shock mount solely as the first one tends to lay over and flex towards the direction it’s pointed to. This has hindered some GoPro footage I’ve gotten so I’ve had to crop it out when it would jump in the shot sometimes. I’ve always loved the audio and bought it when it first released for use on my canon 7d but I think I’d love to see the two audio samples side by side 3:56

    I think the videomic go II is a better option because it can be used for everything. It’s a true jack of all trades for the budget content creator.

    Great little mic, but for $20 more it's hard to not get the VIdeo Mic Go ii unless you NEED the smallest form factor. But I use my Video Mic Go ii all the time and the usb c aspect is perfect for connecting to my mobile set up! If I had to go tiny I'd get teh MKE200 like someone mentioned below!

      Might need to do a little comparison of those two mics! Lots of people have mentioned the MKE200 to me as well!

    Awesome tech video Like always. I agree this compact Mic is the best this year so far. Wish it had the coiled up cable though.

    I really like the sony you don't have to have a wire it just works via the hotshoe and it auto levels which makes it easy.

    • @DavidManningvlog
      @DavidManningvlog  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally Samuel! That Sony mic is rad with the hot shoe pass through. I wish all mics could tap into the hot shoe like that and just have no cable!

    Great job on the video David! Thanks for making it. The previous Micro lives on my goPro 7. This new one might be worth a look.

      They’re killer mics for GoPros! This one sounds a bit better and doesn’t have the flop of the v1. But the v1 is still a killer little mic!

    *I love the Rode Mics. I'll start with what I USED to own before I went down the Wabbit Hole. The Rode Video Mic Go, and sold that went too a takstar sold THAT and went BACK to rode and Bought the Rode Wireless GO and then the Wireless Go II and then the Lavalier and My Recent the Video Mic Go II. Nice Review*

      @DavidManningvlog  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh man, you've tried it all! The mic and everything in this little guy is basically the same as the GO II, but again the GO II has that usb-c port on there for computer usage

    I like that it’s no batteries! There’s been a ton of times you forgot to turn it off the mic and we go to film and it’s dead. So this is awesome!!

    I think GoPro mics are underrated. I put a wind slayer knockoff on it and you can easily hear me talking with a chest mount while riding 30 mph on my bike.

    • @DavidManningvlog
      @DavidManningvlog  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The built in mic? That’s super impressive! I’ve never tried to run a wind muff on the built in mic, but that’s a solid idea

    Videomic GoII
    where and what store is the entire kit 79.00?? I just purchased only the mic wil red attachments and cord for that price and no strap to cover ports. and definitely no wind screen or d-cat

    Incredible video, but I have a question. If someone could answer this. Would it be crazy to take the new mounting system and replace it with the ntg videomic. Would it work, or would it overload it? I like the new mounting system because I believe it locks in better on the camera.

  • @MrAndMrsBanks

    what would you recommend for a dual mic like this? I often vlog where I want the sound of what I am capturing but to include my narration from behind the camera. I love Rode and have the vlogging kit as well as the dual micro go little 'pucks', but need and on camera dual mic.

  • @Corman911

    Excellent addition to my collection of microphones. Although I think you talked me into spending $20 more for the computer capability.

    • @DavidManningvlog
      @DavidManningvlog  ปีที่แล้ว

      They're both excellent! But you're right that if you're not mounting it on a GoPro, then I think the GO II is the way to go for sure. The GO II is now my main mic for using with my zoom calls🙌

    If I use the micro 2 for my podcast which I'm trying to free up USB ports for, is there a way I can here in real time on my headphones how it's sounding? Like would I just plug my headphones into my laptop and the mic into my camera and then input micro output headset to hear it?

    Great video , btw how do you get rid of room echo in your studio? Or do you use a plugin to cancel Room Echo

    • @DavidManningvlog
      @DavidManningvlog  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! For echo, the key is to get the mic as close to your mouth as possible. Even in the shots where you can’t see the mic, it’s just above me right out of frame, about 5inches from my mouth. Beyond that, I’ve got a rug on the floor and some foam on the ceiling that helps. If I still get a bit of echo though, I’ll remove it with DeNoise in Premiere👍

    • @natehawesvideo
      @natehawesvideo ปีที่แล้ว

      @David Manning they make foam cases the shape of gopros to slip it into and it does a good job.

    Where is the wireless go 3, we hope rode will nail it and kill the dji version.

    • @DavidManningvlog
      @DavidManningvlog  ปีที่แล้ว

      The key to removing echo is to get the mic as close to your mouth as you can. I run an extension TRS cable for mine and mount it just out of frame for these videos. Even though the camera can’t see it, it’s only about 5-6” from my mouth just out of frame
