For 2025, the #Explorer family gets a significant refresh with includes a trim simplification with the #ExplorerST and #ExplorerPlatinum sitting at the top end. Just bought a 23 Explorer ST. Love it. The twin turbo V6 is great fun!
I dig those wheels. I like that they actually left some meat on those tires instead of giving us rubber bands.
Rubber bands do not work well with pot-holes.
@@professorcraven especially if you live in Detroit like me
Loving all the uploads this evening Sofyan! That explorer is beautiful - keep it up brother! 💪
I have a 22 ST. No issues at all. Besides the wind noise on the highway. I think most of the problems were the early 2020 models.
Gotta remember what the front end looks like for when my municipality orders a fleet of police cars
Does the map projection to the gauge cluster work with smartphone navigation (Apple Maps/Google Maps/whatever) or does it only work with the integrated navigation? There are lots of cars that can do built-in nav projection... very few that can do it for CarPlay navigation.
That looks so good. Love the interior too.
Can they offer the column shifter as an option like on the police interceptor utility?
Great video as always!
I have a 2016 Explorer XLT with 127,000 miles on it. Love it been a great vehicle the thing I had to do to it was put a Battery, tires and brakes, normal wear and tear, my dad had a 2015 with a 141,000and never had problem. Know he has a 2021 Explorer. Again they are great vehicles.
Love the upgraded front exterior and i side interior 👍
So far the only vehicle at this show that has blown my mind on price just because of how Luxurious it looks inside and out is the all new GMC Acadia Denali. That vehicle looks like a $100,000 car but it’s going to cost somewhere around 60k fully loaded. And it’s has an insane amount of room even in the third row😱. I haven’t seen a vehicle that I have looked at that has released this year that has had as much of a WOW factor as the Acadia🤷♂️ IMO
thank you for the intel on the car I need to slow down for
I’m sold! I’d love to own the platinum version
On fire tonight!
The color is just cool 😎
You said front wheel drive? Did they switch back to front wheel or still rear wheel
...looks great , thaaaanks
I'm definitely getting one
There is no way the painted roof is $4800.
I agree, he must be mistaken.
It's 4,800
Very nice looks
Front-wheel-drive is not available on the Explorer. It's on a rear-wheel-drive architecture.
Good video!
About time with the Pano Roof 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 and better info screen ….
I have a 2020 ST with a panoramic roof!
Love those wheels!!
Surprisingly i like the look the plastic more than body matching lower panels
Ford GT
Focus RS and ST
Fiesta ST
Explorer ST
And
Mustang GT
Ford has been on or near the top of the performance game for a minute now. In any segment of vehicle and at a fraction of the price. #GODBLESSAMERICA
Focus and fiesta have been discontinued for years
My 2021 is currently in the shop for the second time for a rear bolt fracture. Can't wait to get rid of it.
Can you give a little more detail on the rear bolt fracture? And is it a ST?
Steeda has produced a brace to stop the rear bolt issue.
Does it have Bi-Function LED Projector Headlamps?
Thank you for your review of the 2025 Ford Explorer ST and Premium models.
In my area there are 2 Ford Explorer ST models of 2023 on the dealership lot are waiting for the future buyers. Unfortunately, the gathering stitching on the leather seats is very bad. It appears the leather seat covers were stretched and puckering occurred trying to ease the leather while sewing the seat covers. The 2024 Ford Premium model has beautiful leather seat surface stitching- no puckering.
Ford Motor Company needs to provide better leather seating for the ST models.
Is it the cameras perspective distortion or is the exhaust on the passenger side extending out significantly farther than the drivers side ? QA problems ???
I believe that’s the look with them being asymmetric. It’s an adaption of higher performance cars that will do this. Porsche does this too but I’m sure theirs look a lot better.
About time with the digital Dash and better seats. Glad the screen isn’t horizontal ….
Its had a digital dash since 2020
Any reason why they don't paint the trim that goes around the wheel wells? It would look so much better pained body color.
Agreed 👍
I wish all trims allowed for a second row bench. It's a trend with all brands to only have captain's chairs on top trims. Many people want the top trim but need to seat more people.
Over $4k for a black painted roof! That's ridiculous! I'd just get that part wrapped if you wanted it black. It's typically around $3k to wrap a whole vehicle, so just the roof would be much less.
i was looking up vids on ... i think it was a Volvo XC70 (might be wrong)... and came across a really old vid from y'all. Wow. Young(er) Sofyan! it's was a trip. Glad i'm not the only one that was super geeky back in the day. Slow and steady, now rocking at 1Mil subs, and putting out (still) awesome content!
I would love to own the ST.
Does the ST seat 7 passengers?
I heard these come with a build option to take 4 trips to the dealer for repairs during the first year of ownership for an extra $7200.
Definitely want to upgrade to the ST from my Subaru Ascent. If I'm going to get such terrible fuel economy, I want more power.
Went to the Chicago Show yesterday. We could not figure out how to access the 3rd row. We asked two Gentlemen in Ford UAW sweaters and they said you climb in and walk down the middle. Seriously, Ford sent people who didn't know how to operate their own vehicles. Thanks for showing us what Ford couldn't...
2:30 Thought ford switched to rwd baised platform? Now its back to fwd?
its RWD, I think he misspoke
i hate that chime 😂
Once i heard it twice i came stright to the comments 😂😂 im not a fan of the chime either
The inside look really nice and a 400/400 engine is good as well. The reliability would be the question mark for me
Why? They are reliable.
Not bad for the other trims …just ordered my 25’ ST- Line with the premium package a couple weeks ago and just waiting to see when it starts production
Have an early build 2020 ST. It's been in the shop over a dozen times. Unsolveable Camera issues that took over a year to resolve, 3 CV joints, High pressure fuel pump, transmission valve body replaces, front seat cover replaced twice, hub actuator seal replaced, then a loose cam shaft of all things that led to a new engine at 45k. However since the new engine I've put another 20k on it with no issues. I was past the threshold to lemon it unfortunately. However I actually really like the vehicle. When it works
2020s had issues unfortunately
Thats why you dont by a car the first year of production
I agree, time to catch up,Heads up W/night vis....Jeep rules.
Looks nice.
Did he say fwd or awd?
Can the ST be ordered w/o the 3rd seat?
Thanks.
Yes
Just an FYI, 2020 wasn't the first time it went to RWD, the Explorer began as a body on frame platform and RWD. From years 2011-2019 the Explorer moved to a car based platform and FWD.
I wish they put the screen from the Asia market in the suv
It takes away from saying it now, every single car you test has a really solid sounding thunk. It's ridiculous at this point.
That’s pretty much most cars these days.
I think more of a solid sounding toink.
@@samsamboI would say it isn’t but to each his own.
And then he always has to say "remember this is on the xyz platform". 😂
@@theMLBfanYeah very robotic.
That chime will always let you know it’s a ford for sure 😆😆🤦🏾♂️
You know your stuff about explorers! I do like the upgraded taillights, and the interior. I'm not impressed with only 400 horsepower, it should be about 500 for ST option
500 is crazy for a soccer mom suv lol, just get a mustang
@austinta4017 Yep and not fast enough for me!
Be nice to get a full profile from the side.
Powered 3rd row, powered tilt steering wheel, memory adjusting seats...got all that in my standard 2014 explorer. Seems not much changed.
Can your 2014 self drive? Does your 2014 have a panoramic sunroof? Does your 2014 have 400 horsepower? Does your 2014 have a 10 speed transmission? Is your 2014 rear wheel biased? Does your 2014 have messaging seats? Does your 2014 have apple carplay compatibility? Hmmmmm
The screen is from the Lincoln and they still don’t paint the fenders. Looks cheap when they don’t especially for the platinum. But basically looks the same.
Your reviews are excellent. One suggestion, have your cameraman sit in driver’s seat at some point so we can get a POV/driver’s view.
They really messed up the front fascia. The pre-refresh front fascia was much better, The rear is dope though! Almost reminiscent of an Acadia, but I guess you can tell them apart. Overall I like the refresh. The grill and headlights just look terrible to me.
Yup. The previous one looked great. Perfect headlights. Now they went more boxy in the front maybe trying to compete with the telluride
So they don't have Hydrid Explorer now?
11:00 hi Mr Lamond!
This or aviator or infiniti qx60?
Some buyers really need 3 seats in the second row and folded 3rd row for luggage on a trip. It's the only thing which will stop me from buying it as it's having two seats in the second row while I need 3 seats for my kids...
I hope they do a better job on reliability. I've had 3 over the years and constant electrical issues.
Parabéns a Ford por este SUV 🎉🇧🇷 , e ao canal Redline, uma versão em português, igual ao Mat Watson da Car Wow, elevaria o número de seguidores 😂🇧🇷
0:29 he says cross over, but I thought it's body on frame since 2020
Now if only they can bring the fusion back for those of us who really love sedans
Sorry, but it's not going to happen. Reason: sedans are no big money makers, and that's a fact...
Nissan Pathfinder offers a painted roof on the top Platinum trim.
You made a mistake 2:30 when you said front wheel drive or 4 wheel drive, those are no longer front wheel drive, they change it back to rear wheel drive in 2019
The explorer is a good looking vehicle but damn not too many people have good things to say about it
Overall quality is poor, serveral problems have been revealing themselves, 10 speed trans, cooling system, front cv axels.
@@spartus56996and rear bolt fractures
It's called the Hundai-Kia "razzle-dazzle" plan to sell you poor quality Korean junk.
I don’t like how Ford cheapened out the ST… notice the headlights aren’t projector LEDs anymore. It’s reflectors again like the previous generation but they kept projectors on the Platinum. You can get an Edge ST with adaptive LED projectors standard with the ST package.
Has the quality improved? I had a 2020 Ford Explorer and the hard plastics and creaking is annoying me. Besides that, the quality of the doors are very poor. You'll notice is when you shut down the door it sounded like a tin can lol.
I do dig those wheel rim design, but of course the refresh is still absurd with greatness.:)
So they switched to front wheel drive on a fifth generation and switch back to rear wheel drive on the sixth generation
Was the new nautilus there?
Where is the foreign version??
14:24 you're wrong Nissan Pathfinder have black roof Jeep Grand cherokee have black roof too
Im trying to pay off debt to get one next year
How much is the “police package” that you just mentioned? 😂
@sofianbey use outgoing model as opposed to pre refreshed it flows better my man
I miss what this vehicle user to be prior to becoming unibody. It’s just so big and expensive. I used to love Ford. Soon they’re just going to have the Bronco Sport and Maverick and really only one of those are any good. Everything else will be expensive. They could at least bring the Everest here as a 2 row crossover.
I "HATE" that racetrack tail light on the Durango. Wishing this had one is sus. I looked into how to turn that crap off or just cover it up with a black wrap or something.
I wish Ford would get rid of the blue oval. Just spell out Ford or get rid of the blue. Feel like it’s quite the misstep if every brand redesigned yet Ford chose to refresh.
What are the problems with the explorer?
Starting with PRICE, it's too damn high for the quality of suv, second, quality of assembly, materials, workmanship.
@@roypribble2233 Oh, so basically the same manufacturing issues as Tesla?! Got it!
Maybe you consider it junk but of the many I owned they have been outstanding.
I like the Toyota spies taking pictures of the undercarriage🤣🤣
Looks like they went back to the 2016 front end.
I like my 2015 Explorer except for the trim in the back that is just jutting away from the body. Not been in a wreck. But the trim is just popping out. Hub’s trim in 2013 Expedition isn’t so great either. 2007 Toyota RAV4 we gave to son at least has trim intact and almost 200K miles on it. My Explorer has 78K on it.
The Explorer is always my favorite SUV, Now give a warm welcome to a new member of Ford's SUV family 👇

Good but prices must be between 35k$ to 50k$ not more
I had a fully equipped '21 Expedition Max. Although roomy in general, the interior felt quite cheap. Then I sat in an Explorer and realized how cheap Ford could actually get. I really hope the new Explorer got a decent upgrade. Either my standards are too high, or Ford has been partnering with Fisher-Price on their interiors.
Hopefully Ford ditches those vertical screen.
Yeah, it does look like an poor choice of screen.
Still waiting on that apple CarPlay 2.0 to make it to a car…
Looking good but I wish we had more options for rims
Wheels are easy to get from anywhere.
Previous ST looks much better outside
Rims are blah and they flipped the touch screen, not impressed with the differences from the previous models
👍👍
Someone finally did it. Someone finally made a more bulbous grille than BMW
They should have just brought the Everest and called it the explorer
He said front wheel drive??? 😮 This is a rear wheel drive platform.
