I don’t personally think the electric vehicles are ready for police use. I can easily drive over 250 miles a day while working. Especially considering the charge time, I just don’t think these are feasible yet
They aren't feasible for anyone lmao, people just act like they are. The only EV's worth even a thought is a Tesla. I just think it says something when most of these agencies are retiring tahoes and explorers after only like 6 years, meanwhile the '06 crown vic is still kicking ass at the neighboring agency.
@@jakemensik2842look into fisker ocean “ One “ limited edition far superior to tesla i own one and it goes over 400 miles fully charged 0-60 is 3 seconds extremely fast car . Some evs are better then others my car with all options was 85k ppl dont wanna spend the money tho lol
In the UK they are being used for basic duties. It can’t be used for actual patrols for the same reason. And there is no chance Armed police or roads police would ever use such a vehicle primarily. Can’t beat a diesel
Never will be.
@@Horizon301.You should tell that to Merseyside Police
Honestly for me the Tru Armor glass is something amazing and I think should be mandatory on all PD vehicles and school windows. Genius concept. Great Content Nick
These days, yes it should. I'm surprised more agencies don't use them.
@@2WheelPursuit 💰

@@Guydude79FJB…
How about all cars? 😅
I'm in a large PD and our gas patrol vehicles run almost 24/7. We would need to order 2x the amount of patrol EVs as one would be down while the other is charging. EV's wound be better for surveillance and admin rolls.
Three.
X4. Because of the break downs. Plus the patrolman is always messing them up and crashing them.
Thank you for beating me to that stupidity! Even with small forces, the cars often run 24/7... so explain how an EV would work...
They should make hybrids instead
@@dabiri69 no they should stick to regular gasoline engines. Hybrid wouldn't be able to handle excessive speeds and more importantly curbs.
Thanks for hanging out with us, Nick, and allowing us to showoff Argus BWC and Eagle 3. Come see us at IACP!
With departments across the country short handed and LEO’s running call to call, EV vehicles are not great for the job, especially in rural areas
of course. These are great for high density areas though
The armor window would of been great for the LA county Deputy this weekend. I think every agency should have them no matter how big or small.
Plus. When the vehicles go out of service. We as civilians get bullet proof windows.

A waterproof frunk is so nice to have. And stab proof seats just in case they forget to put the wall divider for the back.
Stab plates is nothing new...lol. The crown vics from the early 90's had them as well.
stab proof seats should be like those seats for supercars, made in carbonfiber or magnesium. Expensive stuff....

I have to say, it wouldn't be very intimidating being pulled over by a Mach E or a Blazer EV. I'd think it was a soccer mom with a light bar lol
Till they’re rolling next to you not even making noise, I don’t think people understand the strength of those electric motors. People have been making drag cars with forklift motors since before Tesla was a thing
@@Jacob-Isaiah Noise is pretty irrelevant as I can't even really hear gas powered cars while I'm inside my car and driving. The electric motor wasn't really my point, I'm just saying that styling-wise, the Mach-E and Blazer EV look so feminine and cookie-cutter, it wouldn't be very intimidating being pulled over by a cop in one lol.
@@sunshinelolipops1 suvs can hold more people and equipment, definitely more scary than a 1990 crown Vic rolling behind you
@DutchRabbitVideos so you want vehicles to be more intimidating?
Hey, remember what police looked like back in the 80’s talk about non intimidating but they made it work with that baton and showing off that six shooter.
Thank you for getting access to this great new Emergency service equipment show. I just wish Federal would make the HYPER yelp like the old school Federal Intersepter between Tones you could get turning the controls SLOWLY between Yelp and wail.

@@cliffords.8341 nice. I chose landscaping. 24 years now 😁
I used to feel that way too, when I was young and naive. No I can only wish I could say that. Most cops break more law than the people they arrest. Its it ironic they call themselves law enforcement.
That one way glass that you can shoot through is amazing!!!
We ran the old Ford Police interceptor, 12 hr shifts...there is no EV on the market you can keep up with Pursuits or run consistently for a 12 hr shift.
Let's GO Brandon...
As a mechanic I suggest not using fully electric vehicles as police. Your chase range will be about 15 miles.
Use hybrids if anything.
Chasing should be avoided altogether. It causes more damage than it avoids. But one vehicle doesn't conduct a chase alone.
@@krane15 yeah tell that to the RCMP street racing unit that where I live. I’ve had a bolo put on my car because I was caught drifting. Anyone at the entire meet who drove a black Audi was chased down and pulled over until they found me.

As a Avid Body-Camera Connoisseur, I'm loving that Argus BWC, 120 Seconds before activation with (Optional) Audio Recording, and AI Activated Options as well?

Don't think you realize theat meeting Fedsig Nick N. Is meeting thr history of Federal Signal. He's been with them for dozen of years and helped develope a lot.
you love typos huh
What did I just read?
Best thing, 9:30 Software the updates GPS mapping to civilians so they can map around and so self-driving cars know the location of cars with the > blinding < light show.
11:30 ALON has been aroudn for at least a decade and provides the same features except for the one-way resistance.
Aahhh the convention for unlimited access to money!
Most Departments cant run EV's. Cant afford them. They require fleet purchases and being outfitted. All these are good for "concepts " but for actual Police work...nope. Setina, Whelen and the "internals" are always top notch.
Im watching this as a general consumer. Thank you for letting me know what i must buy.
I think that having the trunk in the front is a bit of a disadvantage..... Since if ur conducting high-risk stops, ur not gonna be able to reach it safely because your target vehicle is probably in front of you.... This creates an even higher risk for the officers...…. It doesn't just have to be long guns, it could be armor, ammo, stop sticks, spike strips, you name it. Nick, can you pls pass this to (idk but I think I heard you call him Nate).....
@NickOFFDuty
big open space in the front. no engine block to stop bullets your a sitting duck. No thanks
Yeah i really don't know how they thought this was a bright idea, its like it wasn't made by cops lol..
Whelen will save so many lives with their alerts and changing of the lights. So many times these new cars have amazing sound proofing so they don't hear emergency vehicles coming.
That's a GTT product called Traffic Light Pre-Emption. It's been around for 15+ years. Whelen wants to charge an annual fee for their software so they integrate GTT's solution into their platform. Not really necessary as the GTT system uses on-vehicle transmitters to tell lights to turn green.
the livestream body camera is gunna be interesting, following these guys via map is one thing but to see what's going on in real time will really give dispatchers the ability to get the ball rolling early on notifications and coordination of other agencies and units without having to rely to much on waiting for appropriate information to come from the officer who is yeeting his car at 100 mph
Exactly what I was thinking, going to be so much help to the dispatchers and officers too.
Livestreaming for body cameras is old news. That has been a thing since 2018. Kustom Signal is far behind the game right now. Look up the Axon Body 4 camera.
Sounds great until someone finds a leak and streams it to socialmedia
@@dutchtrucker674 Argus Data Vault uses a fully encrypted data stream as well as MD5 hash for storing video. Not a chance.
I think requiring ALL politicians to wear live-stream bc would make for more interesting entertainment... just a thought!~
ive been seeing the blazers and thought they would be great for police use, love the look
So much respect for the work the police officers are doing and keeping us safe. We need 10x more budget at the local levels rather than trillion dollar federal budget that wage and fund wars abroad and give away hundreds of billions as “foreign aid” to keep the war machine humming.
I’d rather have all that money go to local counties, fantastic pay (3x salaries of police officers, tax free), top of the line training, sophisticated tech and gear, amazing benefits like free education, free healthcare, free rations, state funded cars for all officers, and super capable cars and SUVs. All of this so police departments attract top talent, recruit the right people in large numbers, and keep the communities safe and save lives… 👮♂️👮
You know criminality is bad when cops equip themselves like batman
Dang, I could see E-vehicles being a bit of a danger unless they prtotect battery fires. But, they will be a game changer at chasing the bad guys!
Omgosh look at all of these stock features of the ford lightning.
It’s almost like they just put wheels, a wrap, a push bumper and lights on a stock ford lightening.
Great video like always but it would be great if you had a light to video with the dark areas inside the cars.
I feel like the Police going EV is a bad idea
yall should have seen the fire expo aswell! i heard there were some amazing trucks there!
I own a 2023 Chevy Blazer and it’s powerful. Mine is awesome to drive love it.
So when will it be made that when a patrol car is put into park it will shut off the siren? I know it can be done, it is done to shut off opticom when on scene. The Q siren on fire trucks is operated with a foot switch and was accidentally stepped on all the time so a parking brake cut off is now being installed
Well cool with all these electric police cars all you need to run from them now is just a full tank
Love to see what equipment will be used to crush my freedoms next. Great video!! 😃

Wow for a couple years now I’ve been thinking about allowing cars to talk with each other. So I’m glad that Whelen is pushing it. My idea was to help traffic especially stop and go, hoping that it can be turned into cruise rather than stop and go. other things as well but there’s too many old vehicles for this to work

On the Ford P/U, the should go with a hard, lift up cover on the back and cover it with solar panels. It won't directly extend the range of the truck, but when it could keep an aux battery network charged for running the lighting systems and coms.

just gonna say it the ford lighning civillian version has like 90% of what they "added" to the police one. the interior stuff is unique but even then not to special.

the 12 volt system should be part of every electric vehicle
With LED tech. And all blue light bar would work with some red if a state requires some red.
Won't it be fun trying to pay for those vehicles when many departments can't keep their fleet running well? I see even more criminal asset forfeiture happening. With the criminal part referring to bad cops who use it badly and often.
I didn't see the 1 thing that should be on every patrol vehicle. The Grapple Police bumper.
They dont want to stop you safely...?
a ton of good stuff in here to protect our officers and our public. something that definitely needs to be addressed is public outreach from local PDs and state PDs, trying to build trust with communities instead of just expecting the community to respect them with no effort. another big thing is amending police unions to include updated misconduct clauses so they can no longer protect these officers who have actually done wrong and committed either legal offenses or civil rights infringements against citizens.
I like the look of the Blazer
Ev's equals no engine block to take cover behind
No wonder everybody's property tax goes up every year to fund all these gadgets so they can write tickets or haul someone in for a book & release.
Also prevents someone from breaking your front door down and taking all your property.
