it's just crazy to me how much higher the cost of entry is for Eng sets. Like you can buy like 3 booster boxes of JP for one ENG, feels like it's a no brainer to buy JP but I also gotta imagine it's much harder to move outside of Japan.
it was much more liquid a year or so ago compared to now, maybe everyone bought into the hype too much and it's cooling down, but overall i still love the product for its quality, compactness, etc... only issue is the scams!
Awesome vid. I do think the tie breaker goes to Evolving Skies. The Booster box is starting to move up again and Eevee Heroes is dropping a little due to reprint rumors. I don't think Eevee Heroes will reprint but time will tell.
out of cyber judge, wild force, mask of change, crimson haze, violet base and night wanderer, which 4 boxes would you say is the best of these 4 for long term holds? I personally would go for wild force, crimson haze, mask of change and violet base, but just want to hear your ideas too! i feel like japanese boxes are so cheap now!!!!
i would put night wanderer at the bottom of the list as you have done, not a fan of the SARs in there apart from Casseiopia and the box art is also the weakest
Great video. I love doing numbers like this and comparisons. Add in the inteleon and gengar decks in japanese if you re do this in another few years! They came separate and in a dual box. The gengar especially impacts the comparison of fusion strike as such a huge card.
Great great video! I love the analysis! I have done this as well but not all sets but most sets, Japanese wins percentage wise. I do agree that japanese wins, but it would be a total knock out if this video didn't come out during reprint/reprint rumors of japanese bb. and total knock out again if you included specialty sets since in japanese side, they have move 2x-3x msrp, while in english they barely moves.
excited for you to do this in 3 month or every 3 months so as we can see the over all picture. This video made me like your channel more. We think alike and you are super underrated!
Great video, thanks for taking the time to make this. I guess you mentioned it yourself, but the trainer galleries make a comparison very challenging. I think you'd somehow need to include VMAX Climax since a lot of those cards on the English side make those sets that much better. Given that the VMAX Climax cards are spread out across different English sets, I'm not sure how this could be best approached.
Great vid bro, interesting to see the differences. I feel like some of the Japanese swsh sets are undervalued for sure atm. Would be interesting to see a comparison again in 5 years time or so!
On the data, can you order from snkrdk from the uk/eu? If its the case would be nice to see a video about how to as they have the most competitive price plus authentication procedures (like stockx) Depends on the perspective, i think fees, shipping, resellers fee should be taken into account, not sure if you did... could be between 30-40% for japanese if you import. The english msrp, as quite rightly set to 115, which is 140+ makes no sense and unfortunately ones that are no in tune with the market, are being ripped off along the way... i see that on daylight in the local lgs/shops where parents pays 50%+ above market prices
i haven't ordered from SNKRDUNK before but i imagine you can order it at least to a proxy address in japan and ship it over. agreed that the japanese prices don't take account of those things, but i think it is also balanced out a bit as eevee heroes is much more expensive in the eBay UK than what you can buy it for on SNKRDUNK, for example. thanks for your comment!
@@pokemonstatcg eevee heroes tanked because of a false (so far) rumor of a reprint that sent the price tanking... also many are selling it to get some cash as many sets have dropped (from the last sword and shield to scarlet and violet).. so some resellers/individuals investors may need to sell to get some liquidity for new opportunities or just to stay afloat.
As a collector of both, please keep these English vs Japanese compressions coming 🙏
thanks, will do!
Thanks for taking the time to do this, I need to make an excel sheet like this 🔥
no worries man, you can have mine and make it better 😂
Love these type of vids man - great analysis 🔥🔥
appreciate it bro will try to do more!

@@pokemonstatcg do you think its a good idea to start slowly picking a box of every set from sv while its still cheap?

yeah definitely those were two big vmax cards in the decks. will try to figure out a way to add them. thanks again!
