@@simonschmitz6719 you're looking for complex musical debate in a vulf yt comments section if you insist i rephrase my comment though, i shall provide. Considering the popularity of the improvised "pocket" bass solos of the critically acclaimed bass player of Vulfpeck, such as those on My First Car and Beastly, the second of which was written by the cowriter of the new single, it is interesting that New Guru concludes on one such element rather than utilizing the more typical structure employed by Jack Stratton's music (with bass solos typically being followed by a return to the song's main motif). However, the continuation of R&B singer's Antwaun Stanley's singing of the song's chorus keeps in line with the typical feeling of completeness present at the end of Vulfpeck's songs. This is an interesting structural decision which results in hightened tension near the end of New Guru that leaves the listener with a longing for more, without it feeling disappointing or "cut off."
So, if they played this live, I think they could do a SUPER extended version, because that hook will NEVER get old. In fact, the tension just keeps building and building. This was so Earth Wind and Fire! I really hope Vulfpeck does a 9 to 10 minute extended jam of this song live soon!
