I'm needing to make a saw horse and like the simplicity of your design. I think I'll off-set the middle section to one end to hold shorter lengths of timber.
That was a great simple tool for the homestead. Here's a helpful tip. Glad you mentioned about going only hand tight with bolt and nut. So here's the tip. Wrap some teflon tape around the bolt end and put the nut back on,just hands tight. The teflon tape will help to keep the nut from coming loose and also help reduce electrolysis from dissimilar metals coming into contact. In other words reduce rust. Great build. Looks like you need to build a lean to roof in front of your shop for more out of the weather work space. Have a great day.
Hi...... Jason and Lorraine you are great I love to watch your video homestead, thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🐔🐓🐥🌱🎥👍👍👍
You LOOKED rally comfortable sitting on it. Put a cushion on it. GREAT for watching football games OUTSIDE for two 2 GOD BLESS YOU 3 hey Bernice and friends SHALOM LOVE from MICHIGAN
As a chainsaw artist it very important to get a level base on a carving, no more setting a piece on uneven ground or unstable tables , built the saw buck and made everything so much easier , regret not doing this year's ago .
Great quick build Jason. Just try to avoid cutting between two supported sides to prevent smaller saws from binding and larger more dangerous saw like chain saws from bucking back at you. Also throw a quick mention of wearing safety gear. It great to see how more relax you are in makng videos. Keep up the good work. :)
Love it. You always look so happy when you have your glasses on and smile in front of the camera in a time lapse sequence. Never stop doing that brother. Makes me smile every time. 😊 -Nick
What about adding a covered deck onto your shop to add more work space?? It could be screened in for summer use then figure a windowed closed in solution for winter time. More space for all the orders you are getting😃👍🏽. And a more cohesive work area you want to be in-:). Warm and dry in winter, and hopeful cool and breezy in the summer.
"Sawbuck" is also a slang term for a U.S. $10 bill, derived from the similarity between the shape of a sawbuck device and the Roman numeral X (10), which formerly appeared on $10 bills. A "double sawbuck" is a twenty dollar bill.
Great video, I made a very rough saw buck for the new homestead as we started clearing this year. Wish I had made mine fold cause its a pain to store. Guess I have another new project. PS. I thought you did a great job taking about digitizing your homestead at HoA... as a new homesteader it was very helpful
Helpful hint when using your Speed square put the edge against the side your pushing from with saw. This will hold it there and you dont have to hold square so tight Just a F.Y.I Also you can do that Japanese thing? when you burn wood Just another F.Y.I
I see that you have a dewalt battery chainsaw, any chance you can do a review about it. I’ve been looking for a small chainsaw to do small work around my farm.

It made me ashamed of how easy it is to do. I go there in the yard to look for the materials. Edit: I came for the smile, I want this for my life. Edit 2: I built one, not foldable, but it works great!

nice tip! thanks!
Thanks Captain Obvious
@@cominatcha6223 that was unnecessarily rude.
That is so neat. I like that it folds for easy storage and that it keeps you from having to bend to cut. Helps your back.
Nice build as always I would put something underneath it to catch the wood chips to put into the garden
good idea, thanks!
That's what my dad built and used when I was a kid. 😁 brought back good memories...might just build one myself. 👍👍

Nice simple to the point video. Thanks Jason!
I’m definitely gonna make one of these Jason 🙏🏻
I will have to build a saw buck once I build my house in Missouri. Best Wishes. Grandpa Jones. 😃
Best to add diagonals between parallels on sides. Adds more stability. Cheers P.

Your to clever Jason. Well done. Xx
Good project mate, ill make one the same size as my 4x4 roof racks so I can take it out bush with me and cut my firewood to length on sight
You're having way too much fun brother. Good stuff. I'm going to have to make me one of these real soon.
Nice I had built a four legged horse works good ( 8 legs in total )
If you had put a washer between the 2x4s before you bolted them, there'd be no rubbing, friction etc and it'll be easier to open and close.
Hey this is definately a doable project for my husband! He will love this! Thanks Jason!😊🔨🔨🔨
You make things look way to easy😁 so you can use it to cut wood and when you need a break sit on it and drink some hot chocolate😆
Have a great day 🌻🌻🌻
Thanks Jason
You make everything look so easy . Good idea for cutting firewood. Thanks
That was a maze job what you build there it was good to see it. 👍 👍
Just found your video and Subscribed. I plan on having my carpentry students make this as one of their first projects. Thanks so much for the video.
Thanks for posting this. I cleared out a small section in the woods and was wondering about sawhorses for cutting firewood

I love those I need to build one thanks. I also want to build a shave horse..
Yay Lorraine!!!!!
I always thought a sawbuck was a 5$ bill. Nice work Jason. Love it
Amazing, love that it folds flat
Also what size drill bit did you use. The details are very important
You can also weld these together out of 3/4 inch rebar. That makes an extremely strong one.
ooh, like it. That would be fun. thanks!
Thak you ,this Is a good idea👍🙏
OMG this is AMAZING!!!!!

what lengh are the the 4x2 and what measurement for the holes? Great video and build by the way Jason
Would be nice if u gave dimensions
Nylon nuts would be a good choice. Wood be less likely to move
Awesome build!
thanks man!
Nifty, quick and sweet!! I could sure use one of those :)
WOW!!

We just made one of these as well, for our wood cutting operation 😃 looks great!

Hey Bernice!!😂

cool thanks, Have a blessed Thanksgiving
Can you tell the length of the wood you cut.For the legs and the cross bar please BARRY
Is there a reason you didn't miter the feet? Maybe to better dig into soft ground?
Helpful hint when using your Speed square put the edge against the side your pushing from with saw. This will hold it there and you dont have to hold square so tight Just a F.Y.I Also you can do that Japanese thing? when you burn wood Just another F.Y.I
What size of 2x4 were used here?
