    That’s such a great idea for better range without buying new wheels. I love my KS18. I will update too. Thanks for sharing.

    I’m about to add the two extra half packs I have to my S18. I’m wondering if I might have any noticeable change in the way it rides if I were to secure them to the front sides considering the front already has more battery weight. I’m sure it’ll ride ok if each side is in balance but just curious whether it’d be better to try to secure them towards the back sides to make the wheel more balanced front to back. What do you think?

  • @yiwu7299
    @yiwu7299 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Kevin, I have a question, did you just solder the new wire to the X90 connector or you desoldered the wired X90 first and then re-soldered the wires and the connector?

    • @eucupgrades
      @eucupgrades  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Best to cut it off and joint the bold wires and solder it to a new x90 plug. Because if you desolder and reuse the plug it take a lot longer and sometimes the plug can be damage by the heat.

    So I'm planning to do a battery upgrade myself and my plan is to get 20 (genuine tesla model 3 4800mah 21700 cells) and then try to add 1 cell to each of the 20 (3 cell) packs ( I believe the S18 has a 20s3p 21700 battery array, correct?) So this would create a 20s4p array adding 4800mah to the existing 13Ah that the 3p setup currently provides (1100wh ÷ 84v = 13Ah) so effectively I should end up with close to 1500wh plus a 4p setup which will increase the Amp output and reduce the risk of cutout and add 15-20 km range
    ...
    According to my math at least. So my question is: how difficult is it going to be to isolate each of the (20) 3cell 21700 packs so that an additional 21700 can be added in parallel? I'm hoping that this type of mod will not increase the overall size of the machine and possibly the additional cells will be able to be concealed in some custom "powerpads" (hehe.. no pun intended)

    Amazing I was thinking of doing something similar but either creating an external battery basket to set in the front and the rear and and batteries based an the distance I was trying to travel or have a backpack version with a long chord that I can plug in for long eides

    Hi, mate! Do you know what are the thinner wires in battery backs for? Aren't they serve for battery balance infromation for the controller? I suppose it's not a good idea to just put them parallel.... Please, correct me if I'm mistaking...

    • @quadkidd
      @quadkidd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Correct, sort of. They serve the function that balance leads would normally fill, giving you access to the individual cells. IF they are put in parallel and kept balanced well by the charge controller, there shouldn't be any issues. By putting the cells in parallel, your just increasing the capacity of the cells.
      DON'T PUT THEM IN SERIES!!!! YOUR EUC MAY EXPLODE. Series increases voltage by stacking the cells electronically, the controller board probably won't be able to handle that, where-as it shouldn't have that issue with parallel.
