    Great job mate! They fogot the darn dipstick bolt! It's a wonder they never noticed the dipstick was loose huh? Probly tell him you fixed his loose dipstick mount for free lol!😅!

    good to see you actually did a proper diagnosis , and ruled things out . A simple mistake ,from a transmission change was all it was .

    Very helpful I bet the other mechanic before the car got to you charge the bloke at least $500 for labour that was not even an hour hope you were honest and charged the person for the amount of work you done and not exaggerated it to the owner as I have seen with mechanics these daysThey want politician wages specially here in Canberra as I am a mechanic offsider and I see all the rip-offs that goes on

    I've done a full rebuild on the same engine on my ra rodeo and it came up with the same codes and was running when we took out 1 3 5 aswell gotta replace the coils cheers

    What if when u went to go check groud u have ground snd powed but still nothing same thing i did the bull plugs out and see if it affects anything

    Thanks a lot man for this Video, it fixes my car, I really appreciated.
    That ground cable was unplugged from the nut that mount's the transmission oil dipstick, thanks to my morning mechanic, he changed the rubber for dipstick.
    Now I guess I have CAM bearings problem, caused by that 3 misfires :(
    The engine is not smooth after 2500 rpm ! any advice?

      Thanks for subscribing. I am happy I could be some help. I have personally never seen misfire damaging engine mechanical. There could be other issues. I would need more information on how engine behaves over 2500 rpm.

      Its a 2008 Caprice with V6, bought it last month with 330km, changed the oil with 5w30, then bearing sound came so badly, like this video th-cam.com/video/MPXODzIBycU/w-d-xo.html
      then at the same time I added 2 friction modifiers, went smoother until the misfire issue yesterday.
      The engine now has a sound of big friction inside it, when you throttle the engine shakes the whole body of the car, and you feel it's heavy as something jumped inside it. It has to be noticeable by inspection. I drove the car to my house garage on 3 Cylinders :), about 15km.
      Before the misfire issue, at cold start you can hear and feel the bearing .. you feel that there's something loose inside engine like the cam shaking inside the head, like if I take a hard right-turn, the noise stops and if i take a hard left-turn, noise came more louder and noticeable. No Knocking sound or bad timing chain!

      I'll try checking the cylinders bearings from spark port like this video

      @@a1mechanicaloakey639It's a timing chain ,, left bank at certain point during the loop ,,Chain becomes loose .. a tensioner issue I guess

      @@WelcomeToDieBaby these engines are very common for stretched chain. I have seen hundreds of them. Usually they come with engine light and fault codes like cam and crank corroletion or engine position out of range, something like that.

    I have a mate with an 05 sv6 190 6spd and it runs like absolute shit. 6 new packs, plat plugs and plenum gasket and made no change.
    i d/c 2 packs on the rh bank and 1 on the left and made no change in its idle. belt tensioner is flopping around while it tries to idle.
    no dtc's (i have a snap on ethos)
    it would throw dtcs when i unplug the packs though
    originally i thought it could have jumped a tooth on the chain but it has no cam codes and it doesnt fall in the chain recall period as its the older model.
    then i thought it could be the ecm as they are notorious for failure.
    it has spark from the packs that i disconnect and the injector pulses are all even, its like the timing is waaaay off or something -_-

      nah they were gonna get another motor but the 190 is hard to find in perth apparently and expensive.
      i told them to go to a wrecker and find a ecu/bcm key set to suit but they didn't bother. cheaper than a new motor and odd how no dtcs show up yet struggles to idle lol

      @@R3cKi7 cars can be absolute pain sometimes. Usually I start with checking vacuum leaks and throttle cleaning for idle issues, If it smooths out on higher revs.

    Well, I hope you change all spark plugs and ignition coils 😏 coz that's what I would do
