I don’t think she loved chaos. When you are an abused kid, you cling to the familiar, because at least you know how to navigate that. When somebody is genuinely healthy and nice, it’s terrifying because their demons can erupt at any time and you have no clue what they are. I have a few issues with this from a story standpoint.First things first, they dropped the ball with not having Liam show any long term effects.He turned out to be the most well adjusted of the kids, in fact.Second, and this is a controversial one but I stand by it, Kev and V are nearly as responsible as Fiona was.Yes, it was her coke, but not only was Kev doing it with her, but V was stone cold sober.She absolutely could have kept an eye on Liam at all times.
Though I partially agree, Liam is her responsibility and hers alone. As the signed legal guardian it’s her who needs to be aware. She can't expect her friends/neighbors to be a parent while she cokes up in a house with a 3 year old
Lip staying was such a huge growth moment for him. He watches his older sister that usually takes care of everything get arrested for putting his youngest brother in danger and the responsibility of it all washes over him all at once. Like regardless of whether in that moment before knowing everything, he may have wanted to follow his sister and see her until he couldn't. But he has to be there for Liam. No one else can.
