To me in a way, Lip finally felt how Fiona was feeling after all those years. Taking care of everyone and their problems while simultaneously dealing with his.
for like 1 day. when fiona has been doing this since she was 9. screw Lip
@@rgb2219 but fiona made the choice to do that when she legally took guardianship... lip did not.
@@rgb2219
She told Lip that his job was school while hers was keeping the house running. And now he's doing both, he has every right to be pissed.
@@biclopse8731 lip quit school bitching about not wanting to be he golden goose. Fuck lip
Generational curses, she decided to take up raising the kids not Lip
Its sad because lip was mostly hurt cause the only responsible adult in his life who he looked up to the most ended up like their parents
That's why its so hard for him
Exactly. It's painful to watch.
he should give her some slack since shes taking care of them since she was 9. LIP should cut her some slack.
@Rena_beena given everything she has done and sacrificed for them and especially in the situation they are in i think some forgiveness is warranted. She gave up her childhood and life to take care of everysingle one of them at 9. Look at their father and mother. Is it any surprise that she would slip? Also ap what if lip has to take care of the family. Thats not a valid point. Fiona did it at 9 Lip ia old enough and keeps shoving all parental responsibility on Fiona whxh isnt fair. And when fiona told him all he has to do was go to college, he lashes out and said he wouldnt be the families golden goose. Lips an ungrateful hypocrite. If it wasnt for Fionaa all of them would have been seperated and thrown in the system.
@@rgb2219i love fiona but idc when she started to raise them, i started to raise my siblings around the same age and had to do the thing bullshit and i know better than to leave an illegal drug that can kill someone around a baby
Mickey just standing there eating while everyone's arguing, like it's a normal tuesday morning.
He’s a Milkovich. It IS a normal Tuesday for him. Probably just with less racial slurs, hate speech, and gun shots
Me as a kid lol
When??

Noel Fisher could say so much with just a look.
When the people in comments starts fighting fiercely, by writing big paragraphs, explaining examples from past, providing instances, lists and everything, taking side of 1 character or the other, it shows the creators have done pretty well in character development. Its not like the Disney characters, that the protagonist is all good everytime and antagonist is all bad everytime. Someone resonates with Fiona more, someone resonates with Lip more. Great show!
Please stop mentioning Disney like they don't have complex characters. You people are getting ridiculous at this point.
@@CirilloRucacomplex characters are rare with Disney.
@Solar_Corpus No it isn't.
Say what you want about Fiona but hitting a bulls eye on the smoke alarm while drunk was pretty epic
Yuh
Fiona screwed up so much with the Liam thing and Lip had a right to be angry. But even after that, Lip never gave her a chance, he always put her down with arrogance. Even in situations that didn't affect him. His karma was Tammy and his babies.
stole the words out of my mouth, brotherrr.
@Andy-nv6ys exactly, Lip is such a Hypocrite. how is Fiona's screw up worse than what Lip had done in the past, or Ian, Carl, and Debbie. they all screwed up and Fiona just takes care of them but yet they never thanked her for it
@@rickymoranjr9609Dawg she almost killed her baby brother.
@@rickymoranjr9609 Fiona was good at 1st but she became as bad as Frank. Fiona brought everything on herself
nobody brings up how her actions further traumatized those kids. at least they knew they couldn't trust frank or Monica but they never expected it from her.
Lip is honestly incredibly responsible, but his issue is he lacks empathy. He isnt willing to give Fiona an inch when shes going through a tough time because of what Frank and Monica did to the family
well you can't blame him, here is the example he left fionna free of any responsibility and she ended up almost burning the house
Ya too bad he didn’t have empathy for the sister that almost killed their brother
Imo she would've done the exact same to him.
It’s disingenuous as fuck to say he “lacks empathy”. I don’t think that means what you think it means. If he “lacked empathy” he wouldn’t care about what this situation would do to Carl and Liam.
Stop treating females like children, someone needed to give Fiona a reality check and Lip did it for the good of his other siblings
What about when she left coke out on the table for Liam to OD on? Or got Lip's sponsee drunk? Lip and Fiona had the same upbringing. Why would he be empathetic to any of the things she's done. what a weird comment.
If i ever feel the urge to rewatch the series, I always tell myself that season 4 is the hardest one to go through because of the sheer darkness and pivotal changes majority of the main cast faced. Fiona hitting rock bottom the first time is the cherry on top. Didn't care that much of Frank almost dying from liver disease.

I will say lip has had a Bad habit with Shaming people rather than taking account for his own responsibilities but when it came to Liam, I would completely be on his side. I wouldn’t trust him around Fiona after the stunt she pulled.
He is self righteous and arrogant
@@FireArtVids21and Fiona became irresponsible and selfish, what’s your point?
@@Rexis102 was anyone talking to you. My point is that both of them are not innocent.
@@FireArtVids21 nobody was talking to you and you felt the need to reply. Like, this is the internet, everyone is speaking into the void.
But yeah everyone in this show ends up deteriorating or self destructing at some point. Unfortunate but sometimes that’s how life goes, just sad to see it happen.
@ FireArtVids21
No your “point” was one sided and now you are moving the goalposts.
Funny, that’s what Lip would do too.
0:12 mickey face 😭
I feel bad for Fiona. Almost every time in the show when Fiona fucks up, it affects the whole Gallagher family. But when lip fucks up he usually only sabotages himself. It makes it easier for him to scold Fiona and act all high and mighty
Even when Fiona has faced challenges, I will never hate her. She made mistakes in the past but has learned from them and strives to avoid repeating them. When she left, she felt happy and free, wanting to live her own life away from her selfish siblings like Lip and Debbie. Fiona loves her siblings but felt they were holding her back.
Yeah, she learned by running away
She left coke out and Liam almost died, she is one of the worst role models and a coward. She dates drug addicts and is a drunk. She is the female frank who eventually leaves.
Lip wasn’t selfish. He did a lot for that family. The only reason he was even going to college was to help them.
Yeah bc it wasn’t her fault that Liam got coke into his system right? You wouldn’t hate her for almost killing her brother.
honestly, I don't remember any episode in the show she did learn from her mistakes
New title: Fiona's lack of self awareness drives Lip crazy
1:04 “later get off my ass” me asf

People hate on lip but he gave her every out. She should have got sleep like he asked.
Kev: “somethin’s burning” 💀
“And poured it down her throat?” Hmmm interesting that Lip holds Fiona accountable for accepting the drinks here, and then later doesn’t hold his then sponcee accountable in the same way. In each role it’s Fiona fault.
(Btw lol I’m just stirring the pot). I can see both sides and why Lip is so frustrated both times. But he could be a little less aggressive with his blame.
I never thought of that before. That is so true!
Lip was arguably one of the worst people on the show. Every failure of someone else’s was him projecting.
The obvious difference is that his sponsee was a recovering addict. This doesn’t even make sense
@@finnmacmanus5723 And Fiona had no idea about that fact. The guy could’ve told her he was recovering and asked her to leave or refused the drink but he didn’t. He made a choice. Just like Fiona did here. The only difference is Lip holding Fiona accountable here and not his sponcee later.
he just needed an excuse to yell at her like always
Fiona and Lip slowly became Monica and Frank, arguing about who’s more fucked up until one of them left (Monica and Fiona). Shows you that one bad day can turn into another and another into a bad month into a bad year and you start slipping and then boom! Not an excuse to keep going downhill but an explanation that ANYONE can easily be an addict even if they have a promising future.
For all people hate where the show went, I do like how it ended on such an ambiguous note with Lip and Fiona. Did Fiona learn to run from her problems like her mom? Is Lip circling the drain and becoming like his dad? It isn’t clear, but there’s hope. At the very least, Fiona doesn’t circle back to the place that kept dragging her down, and Lip found a partner who stood up to his shit instead of enabling it
@@goodzillo yes! If you know, you know. This show shows how easy it is to become your parents even if you hate them and how you, as an individual, are responsible for how your life ends up. People don’t like the ending but the ending is real life. I think they want more drama on a Simpson on family guy level where the characters never develop and grow. Thank you for understanding! This show hits home and I can see myself, along with my siblings, in it.
When he says oh you poured it down her throat, but get all mad at Fiona when she brought drinks around his buddy Jason
Yep, everything is Fiona’s fault to Lip because she’s basically he parent so it must be all on her
I mean yes but theses were years apart when his mindset could change
Good point
SIMP
My God…. Veronica needs a good reality check because all she does is encourage Fiona to dig herself deeper into mounds of shit and laughing at it like it’s a joke…..a true friend would be working her hardest to make sure Fiona stays on top of things to ensure she’s not thrown in the slammer again or cause the kids to be taken by the DCFS.
Instead she gets her drunk, causes them to lose food they desperately need and Lip to take the kids away.
I always hated how they treated her. She is the only reason any of them have a chance in life, and when she finally cracked under the pressure of raising her entire family (including her addict father), they all shamed her and put her down instead of helping her back up. Fiona will always be the best character in the show to me, she has flaws and made mistakes but she deserved so much better. I’m glad she finally got to leave and have a better life.
Lip watched her struggle so bad, fully let her take care of him, until she literally couldn’t carry the weight of six people anymore. and then he treated her like she was just garbage like frank and Monica. His character acted like it was some massive betrayal from Fiona that she eventually needed help with raising the kids after years of hell. He was so resentful about taking on a portion of the family responsibilities that he forgot she did EVERYTHING for all of them since she was a little kid. Sad development to watch
What are you talking about? He only acted like this because Fiona nearly killed their little brother in case it wasn’t freaking obvious lol. And even here when he takes all responsibility away from her, she still manages to nearly burn the house down. Lip was resentful, because the ONLY person he looked up to in that household had become a carbon copy of their parents and he didn’t have the patience or the emotional capacity to be able to deal with yet ANOTHER deadbeat in the family, nor should it be expected of him.
@@spacedandy4545How many times did Fiona save their lives tho? She fucks up one time and now she’s Frank & Monica? Seems super unfair
@@_Dee2nd you don’t come back from almost killing your brother. Fiona fans always defend that shit
@@Rexis102No one s saying she didnt do wrong, But it doesnt make her just like their Super-irreponsable parents either.
@miguelangelrodriguez9578 Actually it does. She did coke in full view of a toddler and it almost killed him. Plus it took Lip giving her a reality check for her to actually accept that she screwed up. Lip has every right to be pissed at her.
how she hit that throw so clean
I was happy when lip jumped in for the kids
Fiona was on a bender this season
Imagine replacing her scream with godzilla roar.
Fiona spent most, if not the majority of her life, looking out for siblings. Missing out on so much. She never got the chance to experience a lot. Yes. It was irresponsible to have drugs in the house. But, she's not the only one who lives there. They all should have been watching him.
Lip doesn't even appreciate what fiona has done for them. So i dont even take his viewpoints on fiona seriously.
So he’s supposed to appreciate her… by giving her a pass after nearly killing her little brother and nearly burning down their home after getting drunk? Lmao I dunno, most responsible adults would take the fact they nearly killed their little brother and went to jail as a serious wake up call and swear off that sort of thing period and turn their life around. Not delve deeper into it. I think what you mean here is that Lip isn’t babying her, which is fair given her antics. You don’t baby people that have substance abuse problems - that’s how you end up with nightmare situations like Bam Margera.
It’s no one else’s responsibility to watch out for the coke she knew about and they didn’t. She makes stupid decision after stupid decision
I think you forgot that she signed on to be a legal guardian. I don’t care how hard you’re life was when you willingly sign those papers you don't have an excuse to allow your 3 year old brother access to the cocain on your table that your drug addict lover gave you. If you think that's ok, then that's worrying
Yesssssssss!!!!! Finally somebody said it!
@@KARTOONOG not to mention that most of them weren’t even home at the time. Only Fiona, V and Kev were home and they knew he was downstairs
I relate so much to shameless, I’m from Chicago and grew up around nothing but drunks and addicts. I hate that people constantly make it a point that Fiona does everything for the kids and family and now lip knows how it feels, that’s not the point. She was doing drugs around the kids including her baby brother! That is more than enough to be angry about but the fact Liam damn near died doesn’t make the situation easy to forgive. Yes lip lacks empathy, but when you grow up in a life like that it’s not easy to care about someone who is purposefully fucking up their life. Adults should act like adults, like it or not but people who’ve never gone through this wouldn’t completely understand.
It's what happens when cozy suburbia meets real life.
And good writing xD
People seem to forget one major thing. At this point, she was their legal guardian. She took the kids away from frank because he was a drunk and irresponsible. And she is doing the same thing, she took the kids away for.
Stockholm syndrome
I love Fiona but I’d get angry if I was Lip too
2:43 there's a room under the stairs!?😮
That is so not fair of Lip to give Fiona that much shit. She’s doing the best she can with the tools she’s been given. But, she should’ve known better not to drink. Didnt her parole officer say ‘no excessive drinking’? Also, poo on Veronica for bringing over the booze in the first place. As Fiona’s best friend, she should’ve known not to bring booze. It’s also unfair of Debbie and Carl to be pissed off; Fiona asked them to clean up and they didn’t, and as for Carl’s taser, he didn’t seem to care if Fiona would go back to prison if it was found. He was willing to take a chance just so he could have something like that. Also for Lip, he’s determined to be angry with Fiona no matter what she does; she should’ve told him to ‘f*** off’ and did whatever she could her own way
Your just a werid Fiona defender she left drugs out that a child got into he had a right to be mad.
@@Targaryens_ I get that. It was very irresponsible of her; but she doesn’t deserve the hate she gets other wise. Lip seems to think that because of that one incident, Fiona is a completely bad person
@@BrittKGM Hard disagree. Lmao, raising the kids was awesome on her, 100%. She's not a horrible person, but she's a horrible parent and role-model. While she took up the mantle, she failed in the most horrible way possible by almost letting one of the kids die. To coke. That was left on the table.
As someone that has done a copious amount of drugs, even I wasn't stupid enough to do it around KIDS of all things man lmao.
Ya, that's deadbeat behavior through and through.
Fiona didnt deserve to be treated so poorly. She did everything for everybody and helped her family when they were struggling with addiction.... So lip was harsh but fiona did piss me off with the decisions she made. Still wasnt right.
Fiona grow up in a bad environment that's why she is the way she is i'm not defending her with the liam situation but where do you think she gets it from she's South Side
This is the whole premise of the show...
@@justindzaI Know I'm just saying
Fiona was hard to like that season. She ruined a good employment opportunity for a side dude and drugs
Sadly, Fiona is slowly turning into their parents while Lip is being a responsible adult for the rest of the kids. . . and Debby
Alcohol...make friends with it!! Lol
The thumbnail did Fiona dirty 😭
“Bang the bosses brother” Ha!
All I see is that Fiona was slowly breaking down yes she made poor choices but be honest she made many good ones feel like they just only recognized what she didn’t do never what she did and that made her lose her mind faster how people treat you can really mess you up especially after all you sacrificed
NGL Fiona became a lot more worse towards the end of the seasons NGL
They all had a moral decline starting in the fourth season. It's realistic, considering the environment they grew up in.
You lying?
2:52-2:54 when someone makes me angry!!!!!😊😊😊😊
Ik Fiona worked hard and everyone wants to give her a pass but this is terrïble for the kids to be around. Lip was right, and the fact Liam wasn’t crying shows he’s used to constant noise and fïghts. Not good
I felt so bad for Fiona. Lip was so harsh. They all fucked up many times, she got mad yeah but she tried to help.
Seasons 1-4 were great. Everything else after felt like Degrassi.
Everyone saying Lip was being too hard on Fiona is ignoring the reality of a young child getting into a pile of coke.
I love how V was heavily intoxicated while pregnant...& didn't suffer any repercussions. I swear this show made no sense in terms of human anatomy
She wasn’t drunk LOL. Fiona was extra drunk because V wanted her to drink for them both

Love Fiona,My Favorite Character
Lip got too used to fiona handling everything, they were not supposed to be her responsibility, she was like 23 and had been playing mom since she was a little kid. Lip had no right to act like that after all she sacrificed for them
No one has the time to put up with Fiona’s house arrest in this episode
I understand lip
Monica left because I'm pretty sure this would've happened with her Fiona might be there but she's worse because she's fucked up those kids
I'm watching this season and fiona is a mess she fucks up in any chance she is given
Season 4 was toxic.
carl”s numb chucks in the closet
Debbie needs to grow up
all of you do that realise that these are only clip of a much larger show right. Chracters evolve or fall within shows. Were they start and were they end arent necessairly the same . that why we call them character arcs in fiction media. That said
Wether or not you think Fiona had a hard life, she,s responisble of her own action and how it affect others, everyone in life does. Coming from a mother who was dealt the same cards, both my grand parents are alchoolics , one was abusive and the other didnt care. My mother took care of her littles brothers. As she became and adult shes could have turned to alcohol to deal with the trauma and the stress but she didnt. If your parent are shitty person you have the choice to either become them or to be better.
I never understood why there are so many Lip haters. I use to watch this season and think how COULD you blame him!? The one person he counted on was making stupid decisions that affected the family, I would have been mad too!
he blames her for anything she does. like when his friend decided to drink on his own and his dumbass kicked her out of the house.
Whoa debbie lol
God I couldn’t stand fiona
Get off my assss lmao
I'm not surprised at how their respective lives is fucked up: they all have figure things by themselves, without the support, supervision & proper guidance of atleast one parent. Usually m, thats how people turn out mean and cold.
I finnished watching it yesterday for the first time and the first 4 5 seasons were the best. Overall rating in my opinion 8.5 favourite character Frank worst character Fiona
if you think lip is in the wrong or lacks empathy, you lack any accountability in your life
Bro even if you're drunk you're legit staring at the oven Fiona andyou can't leave the house meaning that all you can do is wait for the food to be done and you couldn't even do thatand then it's somehow never her fault and the worst part and the thing that makes me hate this show the most is seeing all of her bad qualities in most of the woman I try and talk to and then when I call them out for doing something bad I'm somehow a bad person
Lip is such a hypocrite dude
Lip's mistakes never amounted to nearly killing one of their siblings from drugs, or nearly setting the house on fire due to being wasted lol. You know, the kind of behaviour they've all come to expect from their parents.
@spacedandy4545 With the amount of burden Fiona had been carrying around, why would you be surprised if she makes a few critical error along the way? Maybe I'd be more on your side if Lip himself had not been so self-centered himself, to the point that Fiona was the mom AND dad of the household
@@stevennguyen4993 You act like as if someone forced her to do that. She's the eldest, that's why she decided to take on that position and it's the whole reason why Lip looked up to her and respected her in that nightmare of a household. Her decision to take responsibility for them, isn't a shield from legitimate criticisms regarding her actions. Especially with her 'so what?' attitude when her errors are highlighted to her. In fact, it's even worse as she is supposed to be the responsible adult in the house. It's one thing for their parents to act like this as it's a given. Fiona isn't a child. She should know better, and her nonchalant attitude to her severe lapses in judgement isn't going to make it easy for anyone to give her a free pass when she clearly refuses to recognise or acknowledge the severity of her actions. You guys fail to recognise how her actions would have traumatised the kids, especially Lip who had a first row sit to her bs. They expect this behaviour from their parents, but they trusted Fiona. And she ended up exactly like their parents.
@spacedandy4545 You act like taking that type of burden doesn't lead to disaster. Her responsibility to take on that responsibility is a moral one, and Lip, who spent most of his time trying to "discover himself", has no foothold to criticize her. You give Lip mor credit for looking up to her despite being one who keeps almost ending up with the same demons that their so-called parents fell into. A genius with a future who spent a share of his spotlight doing a bunch of wrong things as if his lack of "taking responsibility" is better than taking responsibility and failing some of it. No one forced her to take responsibility other than herself, and she burned out as a result. And as the responsible party with the burden of the entirety, she is bound to make critical mistakes. Or, according to what you imply, she would've been better off leaving and letting her family crash and burn like her mother did. Oh wait: the reason why she's falling apart is cause THEY LEFT
@spacedandy4545 You wanna talk about trauma? Fiona seems to be the one who's most resistant to it. And you saw that when she left with her willingness to move on. You see that when she's willing to stand up and raise her siblings as if they were her children. Everybody else is busy fumbling around with their "trauma", yet you gave them the all-clear as if none of them are capable of understanding this concept of burden. End up expelled from college with alcoholism, end up in prison, and up gang-banging, all the drugs, broken relationships, etc. Those flew past you cause "they don't affect anyone else", not realizing that these are part of the burden that Fiona was facing. Cause if you shared that concept of responsibility with all the other siblings, then you'd have to hold all of them equally accountable with what they've done and how they're all in the same mess that they've contributed to. You're forced to recognize everyone else as morally-capable being with the same level and capacity of agency as Fiona. The capacity to do the right thing and to contribute so that they could rebuild that broken family. Why do you think Fiona got a standing ovation from the audience when she finally pursued her own dreams elsewhere? Cause that was the victory that the directors want you to empathize and sympathize with.
I always feel sorry for Fiona
