    The guitars dont need tuning, thats how the song is supposed to sound

      For real. If they were perfectly in tune I don’t think it’d sound as good. Kind of a really charming quirk about a lot of Modest Mouse songs.

    Extreme energy to slow and pretty, love this song. I especially love the whole concept of this album. the disenchantment of and disdain for corporations, just how ever-present and infectious they are, constantly forcing their way into government and communities, sticking god-awful malls in towns, killing the environment in the name of capitalism, forcing their brand with brainwashing ads. It's just a very hollow kind of society, one that always puts money ahead of humanity (maybe i'm getting too hippy-preachy now). Well, I also like Brock's trademark religious theme in here, as well as his reflections on mental disorders, which I and probably a good chunk of MM fans can relate to. And most importantly the music kicks some unique ass

    • @matthunterrlf
      @matthunterrlf 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      but yet here you are , using the evil Google corporation..every time you log into TH-cam you are giving a big thumbs up to the "evil" Google corporation...you sound just like those idiotic "occupy wall streets"...holding a sign that reads "down with capitalism"...in one hand while having a death grip on an Iphone in the other..pathetic hypocrites... try and listen to good tune and the first comment I see is spouting some leftist ideology bullshit...you have problem with corporations and capitalism..stay off of fucking Google..throw away your fucking Iphone..throw away your fucking PS4..or else, shut the FUCK up...

    • @mishm5915
      @mishm5915 10 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      matthunterrlf
      Lmao. I guess my Modest Mouse related post struck a political chord with you, you sure came out swinging and swearing. TH-cam wasn't initially owned by Google, and I hated when they bought it (and I've been using youtube since before I was a teen and before Google's purchase). The occupiers actually have a pretty good message. are you oblivious as to what's been going on in the banking world? were you there for 2008? Hear about what JP Morgan and Wells Fargo and HSBC and just about every other major bank have been up to? Or how corporations have bought their way into politics, lobbied for the deregulation of Wall St that led to our depression and are paying the bank CEOs who helped destroy our economy, how oil companies skirt around regulations and pay phony scientists to put out climate change denial "reports" and in some cases have actually paid them to go through actual climate research and alter the wording to make it seem less sever, or how retail companies invade the poorest countries to exploit desperate workers and turn them into slaves so they can have more of that bottom line $ (because in this system, the bottom line is more important than the humans who made that bottom line possible). I don't have an iphone or ps4 but thanks for assuming.
      One of the frustrations of being against unfettered capitalism/corporatocracy is the fact that you're born and brought up in that system. It's virtually impossible to survive without having to deal with corporations and even if you do, the effects are unavoidable. The environmental damage can't be stopped by any one person. The economic damage can't be stopped. The human rights violations can't be stopped. And half the time you object to the evil being done, some hyperconservative dickwad chimes in on how you're an anti-American hippie commie.
      Also, if you know anything about Isaac Brock or Modest Mouse in general, you'd know that "leftist ideology bullshit" is stuffed into the good tunes you enjoy. Anti-capitalist sentiments are perhaps most present on the album this song comes from (Lonesome Crowded West should've been a slight hint). If you have such a problem with musicians and liberals stay the FUCK off modest mouse youtube videos and pretty much throw away any good movies/music/art/etc you own because the majority of it's made by bullshit liberals
