proper random, but i remember ages ago my sister got a free pair of bright yellow boxers from her uni health service that had "i've been tested" written on them in massive pink bubble letters. I shared a room with her when she'd come back for christmas and they were her go-to comfy pants. Makes getting tested for STI's and taking care of feminine health a lot less of an embarrassment or taboo for me now, all creds to my sister's no-shame underwear choice! #getcomfortable

I’m so happy that a young, intelligent woman is discussing these issues so candidly! I had to very quickly come to terms with all of the ups and downs that go along with being a young adult woman, and having a video like this would have been invaluable. Thank you for putting out truly valuable content to the best of your ability!

same! I didn't even realise it until I read this comment but yes! you can't shy away from touching and dealing with anything when you use a menstrual cup, and it makes it so much more normal and less... mysterious and scary. which it shouldn't be in the first place!

@@iknowexactlywhoyouare8701 I mean, first of all they replace all tampons/pads etc, which in itself saves you loads of cash, and is way more environmentally friendly, so that in itself is a great reason to start using one! and then there's the added bonus where it might help you get to know your body better :)

also wanted to say how much i like you raising the topic of privacy and sharing your life online, because i feel like it's not talked about enough. every time i see someone, especially a youtuber share absolutely everything that's going on with them, i think about how that can impact their mental health in a negative way

I think 2018 was the year I really started to #getcomfortable with my body. I started doing yoga, unfollowed bad influence on instagram and added more wonderful women whom I relate to and make me feel better about myself, and I just started to wear whatever I wanted (high waisted jeans, crop tops, tank tops). The focus for 2019 is skin-care and mental health!!! Bring it on! btw Lucy, your highlighter kept distracting me, it is amazing

I'd love a part 2! I was going through some of you 2016/early 2017 content and was wondering if you ever regretted talking about your alcohol problem so candidly online? Not in a bad way, but for instance, your "Hi, I'm Lucy" video was how I discovered your channel and was what I associated you with for ages (and to be honest, seeing someone my age talking about those kind of issues really helped me not feel alone a few years later) and I thought that maybe a few people probably had similar instances of associating you with that topic. Do you feel tied to how vulnerable you were back them even the your content has changed?

One thing that I would advise young women ( and men of course , but since I'm a young woman myself I talk from my perspective ) to do , is to spend time with your bodies! Literally. Look at your bodies , "embrace" the flesh "clothing" your spirit. Realise it's yours. When I was a teen I didn't want to look at my body. I felt uncomfortable. And now that I'm twenty I say to myself , what was I thinking? Not only did I not want to look at it because it's not tall enough , fit enough etc ( which is also wrong ) but just because it was. It's hard to explain it really... Love your bodies people. They're not eternal.

This is more directed at canestan and brands in general (and its not just Lucy who had to do this) but I wish they'd stop giving youtubers scripts to say, it makes a sponsored video sound forced. I've got no problem with ads, you've got bills to pay, but when you have to say a set piece it never sounds genuine. Great video either way, I'm really enjoying moonuary(?)

Loved this video - such important topics. I became more comfortable with my intimate health by having candid conversations with my close friends about it. Also watching people like Hannah Witton made me realise these things should not be taboo topics; everyone feels awkward sometimes, everyone has questions, and ultimately we're all much better off being open + honest. #getcomfortable

Weirdly even though going to an all-girls school gave me a bad relationship with my body, it really made me open about my intimate health. Nothing was really off topic and girls would shout across classrooms asking for tampons. But I think I really became open when I was camping with my then boyfriend and unexpectedly got my period. I felt so ashamed asking him to do an hour round trip to the nearest village to get me pads which on reflection seemed ridiculous to me. Anyway, I really enjoy when influencers get open with this sort of stuff because it normalises it, especially where a younger audience is concerned, thank you for this #getcomfortable

I really enjoyed this video! Super chilled - made me feel calm and it was really nice to hear someone talking about "taboo" topics in such a casual way! I became more comfortable with my intimate health as I got older, by realising that everybody has to deal with intimate health! There's absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about, and if we're all a little more open and less embarrassed about it, then it will help others to feel more comfortable in there bodies, and less embarrassed to seek medical advice if they need to. After having more honest conversations with friends, I realised that most of my friends had experience all the same things as I have done, and it really alleviated the shame I associated with intimate health. Thank you for the great video! #getcomfortable

I hope you don't mind if a tell you some of my struggles bc I believe that you will relate based in your answer here.... well, I have been having anxiety& depression mixed for like 3 years, and I have had many different crisis in the las t 2 years.... the last one was awful bc my mind was telling I was failing at a class, just cause the activities took me longer than my classmates and I felt I wasn't good at it all-one time, i was working with my best friend at uni, and she did it so well, but i was crap at it that day, i was about to quit school bc of it, due to the fact that i wasnt in a good mindset and that affected me in other classes. Until one day, i realized that it didnt matter if i wasnt as good as my classmates, because I also can succeed in other areas.

Last September I went in to have the 6 week check for my coil. I wrote down on my form paper: "Been getting brown discharge since 2 weeks after I had it fitted. I'm not too worried about it as I had the same reaction with the implant that has the same hormones. But you can check for anything sinister if you want to. P.S. Sorry for the essay"
And when I got in the office we had a bit of a laugh at my "...Sorry for the essay" line lol. And we agreed, it's best to get all that info out there.

people forget that it's not just something to think about thats ''gross'' or whatever, they're medical issues that cause discomfort. A lot of vaginal discomfort can't even be explained as well or treated effectively because of some sort of absurd phenomenon. These are issues that NEED to be discussed. Someone's first reaction should be concern not disgust.
Thrush/yeast infections are common and normal
    BV is common and normal
    UTIs are common and normal
always see a doctor if you're new to it and don't know what's happening. STIs are also something not to be ashamed of, get the help you need.
And I pray you don't have something complicated. Vaginas are needlessly complex in not only ways to do with the bedroom, it *f cking sucks*
