@@hihihihihello I have a 1970 roadster and was going to stuff a vq35hr in that, and it’s been done well with the single intake version- however sourcing one was impossible so I just got a vg30 for the time being so I can get it goin until some of these 08-09 Z get cheaper haha But if it will fit in a 1600 roadster it will fit in a z32 cause heck the vg30 in the z32 is huge anyways
The S-Chasis is one of the best all around chasis. I really think people don't exploit s13s, s14s, s15s for circuit track use as much as they should. 2 door coupe with back seat, long enough wheel base, can be balanced between over-steer or more grip, RWD. Nissan really needs to bring it back after the new Z. Love the S-Chasis trying to get a s15 as we speak lol
No roll cage? I fuckin love this car. I love seeing these kinds of builds where literally everything is super clean INCLUDING the interior. I hate seeing guys build a cool-ish car, only to turn it into yet another race car (talking to you Adam LZ, you have 20 already, pls build street cars). I hope this guy keeps this build street friendly. There's just something about looking at a nice and clean interior.
Damn! I was thinking about how nice it would be to have less power steering at higher speeds for stability reasons. So cool to see that can be possible, with the right tuning... Super sick!
This looks like what engineers do when cars are a hobby. Edit: that exhaust guy made it sound similar to the old all motor straight sixes out of Japan. 👏🏽
Surprised by the sound on this. Glad to hear that the owner also hates the sound of VQ's with crap exhausts. Those interior shots during the pulls have a sound kinda reminiscent of the Honda VTEC motors. Slightly buzzy, but when coupled with the spool noise it gives such an awesome multitonal sound. Big props to the builder on keeping it clean and classy.
Surprised that he kept the rev limit stock with the upgraded jw valve springs. Hey, whatever works. This thing is obviously built right. Although, I was also surprised he didn't go in to internals right out of the gate with a 1000hp goal. The vq is pretty notorious for not liking that kind of boost stock
Great video, great commentary, really interesting and informative, love the customization of this build. I’ve had both s13 and s14 and miss those lightweights compared to my g37 coupe. I’m definitely a Nissan fan but much respect on the hand built solutions and commitment to see it through.
Love how you guys are upping your production game! kudos! and I've known Dre' since 2001. back when he had a Mazda mx6 turbo! and Street Legal! back when we had pizza's and projectors on the wall !
Love the build quality and attention to detail. That said, you showed an E60 M5 which is a naturally aspirated V10, not the F10 twin turbo V8 M5 mentioned. Easy mistake, but the later model V8 M5 has a much better transmission.
Shangpoos Amazing life yeah bro, I really wanted to build a lightweight balanced track/ canyon car but the VQHR is still way to expensive. Instead I found an aluminum 5.3. Can’t wait to get it up and running.
That's a proper mad scientist build! I used a lot of VQ parts in my pignose turbo S13 before some jackass stole it and wrecked in. The dream would have been a single snail VK45 but life...
I'm curious to know how much torque was lost outside of where he dialed the factory cams in by eliminating the VTC, and if it really matters? It would probably really benefit with some cams designed without phasing in mind. I'm a huge fan of VTC, but it's hard to argue with that weight saving and especially simplication.
I know this is a year old, but for a right hand drive car would the steering rack have fitment issues too, or was it just because of LHD and starter on the same side? My Silvia is a JDM RHD and I really want to do this swap, hard to get info.
One of the coolest car guys ever. Andre has been a huge part of Baltic supra also. This 240sx is beautiful
Tracks opening up down there soon?
Tracks are open..... Bradington anyway
Nice s14 🤘
FreshKiicks when he is older and still repping for the HRs :0
Lol 🤣🤣😭🤣🤣🤣
Lol no lie, now he’s throwing an HR in the S15 he just got 😂🔥🔥
it's such sacrilege putting a VQ into an S15.
To be precise it’s a VHR that he’s is putting in his s15 .
@@ajg2094 that’s a VHR
A vq swapped s chassis is something you don’t see everyday, nice build!
I got 2
The owner of the car looks like he could be freshkiicks brother lol
Sheesh is that a tomei dahh
Bro his homie Adrian has a 800hp s14 too
Plot twist : He is the father .
I thought the same too! Sounds just like him too 😂👏🏿
Lmao 3 months later freshhkiicks bought a s15 and is now putting a vhr in there
This dude the Denzel Washington of 240’s
Can't argue with that.
Love the attention to detail, both mechanical & cosmetic.
Internet Internet right hopefully he has another drift car so this one won’t get to abused on the track
Nissan and kept it Nissan, that’s I’m talking about..
Andre is a joy to listen to. Really is a wizard with these platforms.
Equal length manifold, that's the secret of that VQ sounding so good
This is one of the dopest swaps ever and I’m glad to see him keep it in the Nissan family.
15 year restoration??? Damn i wish i had that kind of patience and dedication
That vr38/dct setup is gonna be crazy when it's done .
I appreciate that it doesn’t sound like a normal VQ😂 best sounding one I’ve ever heard
Turbo has something to do with that
one of the most beautiful vq set ups ive ever seen
Dre tuned my old 200sx SER backing the day. Nuff respect to him.
How can I get.ahold of him So that he can do my turbo Nissan frontiers ems4 map
Super clean build! Wow! 🤩
Love that he went the VQ route! 👌🏻
Damn this is such a detailed and tech oriented vehicle, it’s a total clean beauty, love this SX
hyped on that vtc delete he engineered... props!
This build is absolutely insane. I really want to do a VQ swap for my z32, but I don'y have the means to fab for fitment yet.
How much fab are you concerned with, that’s a pretty big engine bay!
@@bamuz ya the VQ is, its layout makes its footprint small in an engine bay, probably wouldnt take much to get it in a z32
@@hihihihihello I have a 1970 roadster and was going to stuff a vq35hr in that, and it’s been done well with the single intake version- however sourcing one was impossible so I just got a vg30 for the time being so I can get it goin until some of these 08-09 Z get cheaper haha

The car looks perfect with that wheel setup. Really clean!
NICE TOUCHES, LOVE THE STOCK AIR FEED, AIR DUCT FEEDING THE TURBO! #thelittlethings
The Loooooooong awaited and overdue feature!! Shout out to Team #DreTuned

This is such a dialed build! I love the look with the Weld wheels.
This channel is better than school
That looks and sounds amazing. What an inspiring build.
This guy knows. One look at that engine bay and you know this guy is about it.
Makes a VQ sound good! Very nice. Usually they sounds like trumpets or chewbaca yelling
Awesome build, this guy and build is one of my motivating factors for my builds

That VQ is done up really nice! Awesome work! Subbed. 👍
Dope...I love your build and thought behind it. Nissan purist. 🇯🇲
Very nice build! I know where to go when it's to build my VQ35HR turbo kit!
Good build, love it.
Waiting on my GT35 to finish boosting my stock VQ35DE In my 04 350z. Had the car for 11 years and finally boosting it.
This looks like what engineers do when cars are a hobby.
Edit: that exhaust guy made it sound similar to the old all motor straight sixes out of Japan. 👏🏽
Bad ass build right here, props to the owner and the channel for featuring the 240SX. 🚗💨
You know when you ready to drag it hit me up for some shocks .....you will love the street ride as well!
pirsq314 it’s a drift car bro
Refreshing to see a 240 that wasn't completely destroyed

Larry Chen also needs to give Andre and his 240sx a spot light.
Excellent recipe for JDM power to weight ratio... I Look for a RHD S chassis S14 to build JDM specs
10:46
Absolutely GORGEOUS S14!
I’m inlove with the drivetrain in this car frankenstained together
The blue s14 dash is pretty rare.
Uggh dream build! Guess I'll have to settle for my 5.3..
Hey now ... nothing wrong with that especially for me since I live in the land of bald eagles and LS swaps. Looking at 5.3/5.7/6.0 my self
Shangpoos Amazing life yeah bro, I really wanted to build a lightweight balanced track/ canyon car but the VQHR is still way to expensive. Instead I found an aluminum 5.3. Can’t wait to get it up and running.
Some more details on that air box/fuse box set up would be nice.
*furiously writes down notes for my HR*
Thats clean
I like what he has done. I like that it looks mostly "stock". Was curious if the amenities like the AC/Heat work?
The weld wheels are 🔥
Dude is a damn engineer! Mad respect! I wanna learn more from this guy...@ me his info somebody please. He revolutionized the hr platform..
@andre_ems (thats dre’s IG page)
I like this build. Makes more sense to me than that boat anchor of a 2JZ. Hate me if you want.
I instantly knew it was the ugly duckling😂I need a built KA in my life
My inspo to this day
Awesome build. Well done
This is nice. I like the turbo VQ stuff.
Im in Florida where is this guy I need him to build my car. Excellent Job and I love the whole keep it NISSAN.
South Florida (andre_ems) IG page...
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 love this 240 and setup
Amazing work on the hr
Super cool car, im not too big on that specific engine but it’s awesome.
Sounds good and not that weird trumpet sound..and I only hear cracking and popping cars here..
21:38 that sound like money being lit on fire
Damn man! That is one tight ride!
This Dude Is A Fucking G. Literally Made Everything
Im glad he didn't go the 2jz or RB way. It's awesome the way he went with it.
So Flo had some of the fastest cars in the world lol
Super clean I love it
And they said VQs couldn't sound good. This one really does sound amazing!
Andy Andeeee i disagree the m3 straight six sounds amazing but nothing like a VQ IN MY OPINION
@@FaZeTask exactly i love vq sounds! One of the best sounding v6 out there if not the best...
Cars nasty! like the vid skills. thanks @TRC ✌
awesome guy, amazing car, very informative video
My guy said stock short block??? For 800whp??? Impressive but I don't know how long it can live there lol
amazing build!
Inspires me to build my track based 1000HP R33 GT-R 😊
Stunning
There we go! proper Nissan! :)
That's a proper mad scientist build! I used a lot of VQ parts in my pignose turbo S13 before some jackass stole it and wrecked in. The dream would have been a single snail VK45 but life...
Dang dawg you got your s13 stolen ? Can’t imagine the pain you went thru. Nope u bounce back even harder.
That does NOT sound like a VQ

Finally!!! not a jz I hate nissan but I like this lol
Who remembers when he was rocking the KA24?? 💪💪
Nothing not to like 🙌👊
Magnificent 👌
Sick af!
SUPER NICE, KUDOS to You! Does it sound like a 1JZ to anyone else??
How is this on the stock bottom end? At 600 wheel its already a ticking time bomb.
Freshkiicks gotta see this
I had the same 89 mazda mx-6 gt i love that car to death
I really like this 240 very different not many ppl use that motor in a 240
Damn this car is clean
Wasn't this car also the 900hp KA24 at some point?
Yessir, we plugged clips in the beginning of the video
I know this is a year old, but for a right hand drive car would the steering rack have fitment issues too, or was it just because of LHD and starter on the same side? My Silvia is a JDM RHD and I really want to do this swap, hard to get info.
Nissan is the best!!!
