I've been watching the skid factory since day one, I've watched and enjoyed every minute of Al's shit talking about the details. I'm not sure what the future of the skid factory holds, but I was definitely here for Al sharing his knowledge.
I'm sure Al will want to be back on, just more like the MCM days where he does work and occasionally stares menacingly into the camera when they bother him.
I came here from MCM and haven't watched any of their videos for years (I'm sure they are doing just fine without me) and connect more with this style of show / delivery. I'll definitely miss you Al, really enjoyed the mid week fix of dry humour, banter, engineering and wisdom. A very unique vibe from this show, thanks for all the entertainment.
These guys were the true stars of MCM. Marty is great, Moog tries to hard to make his content relevant, and their projects majorly lack variety. I like the skid factory because they aren't in your face trying to hype up their boring projects. Instead you get different cars, different power platforms, organic humor, and just general good vibes. One day I'll manage to make it to Australia and finally get to sample the wonderful taste of a lemon squash drink.
@@emersonc1210 agree about MCM. its either VAG, Subaru or other Jap rubbish. nothing ever different, and nothing relateable to the average guy now. EVERYTHING seems to have THOUSANDS worth of Haltech gear etc.
The end of an era. Thanks for the memories Al, I'll miss your dry sense of humour, and all the banter between you and Woody. I'm also looking forward to the new era, with Woody at the helm, and hopefully we'll still get some banter. Good luck to both of you
Thank you Al, Turbo Yoda, thank you for the inspiration and encouragement to get down the shed and do your stuff, the courage to get some Haltech gear to put squirts into my Datto 1000 wagon, And for making me miss my 300zx an awful lot, How to keep your chin up and keep going when you loose your best mate by his own hand, Talk to your mates! How to motivate me to keep going after a Prostate cancer diagnosis, Do what you love. Keep your good mates close. Luv ya Al, we'll miss you mate. MickyD.
Wait, is Al behind the scenes battling cancer? I lost one of the most amazing people I've ever known to prostate cancer. I know it may be no ones business but I'd also hate to be blindsighted later if this is the case.
@theskidfactory now that makes me smile Al, the ad said, Datsun 1000, it's got the lot 🤣 I'm not on socials, but have a lot if spares, and contacts, hit me up if you need bits for the Datto. Cheers, 🤘
I must say, when you spoke initially about hanging up the hat I was bummed but now it’s officially happening and the handover is happening, I can’t say this isn’t kind of emotional for me. Been here since day one of TSF, haven’t missed a single episode and have in fact rewatched many episodes just for the information Al provides in such a way that resonates with me. Been a mechanic for 10 years now and seeing the stuff Al creates is the reason I became a mechanic in the first place. Has been a pleasure watching the show evolve over the years and I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours Al and Woody🏎️💨
Thanks Al! Glad youre not disappearing forever, but we'll still miss you every week! Good luck, keep yourself safe and enjoy the well deserved time off
Honestly can't say thank you enough Al!! I've been watching since Day 1, with the folk that were introduced to you as the Turbo Yoda. I've learned a lot as a mechanic and auto-electrician watching your builds, you make a fantastic teacher. Please keep passing your knowledge on, and enjoy what the future has in store for you!! You're a legend.
Normally i am waiting eagerly for each video. As much as i have loved this car I kinda didnt want it to end as I will miss Alan too much 😂 Thanks so much for all the entertainment over the years. Sending love from the Uk
There's a lot of comfort knowing we'll be seeing Al at times in the future. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, wit and humour Al, all the best for the future. Roll on the Wood Factory!
Enjoy your time away Al, we will be here to support Woody and make sure The Skid Factory remains a significant place where you can watch, learn and generally feel good after watching an episode.
From Turbo Yoda on MCM to TH-cam Superstar - it has been great to watch Al get comfortable on camera and share his world with us. Good luck to both Al and Woody as they head off into their future endeavors.
End of a fantastic era on my favourite channel but I've got faith in ya keeping it going Woody. Hope Al's still planning on getting his pill in frame from time to time
I will say as a long time fan and a guy who wastes way too much time on TH-cam, I must say this channel has always been criminally undersubscribed. The fact that it still only has 280k followers is sort of wild to me, but I’d like to think that it will grow and I certainly hope that the Skid Factory continues to be successful. I really appreciate all that Al has done to teach us. I also really appreciate his talks about mental health as a guy who really struggles with that. Watching your guys show has been a highlight of my week! Here’s to another successful 7 years! ❤🎉🍾
All the best on your future adventures Al. I've been watching since the start. Thanks for being such a massive pit of information and inspiration over the years. Also a massive shout-out to Woody! The channel is in more than capable hands and I'm very excited to see the future of The Skid Factory. You guys are legends.
Sad to see Alan going, been watching the skid factory from day one. Loved the tech talks and banter between friends. All the best, to you Alan your endeavours and family. Good to see, that woody is going to continue the channel will still be watching all the best woody.
Thanks Al for your vision and drive. It's completely understandable to step away for lower level of pressure. Thanks Woody for your on-screen and off-screen work on the show so far! I look forward to what's next!
It’s been a pleasure listening and watching your automotive brilliance Al, sad I won’t get to see you every Wednesday evening, good luck for the the future. Looking forward to see what Woody has in store for us all.
Love your work Al, the world would be better if there were more like you. Woody, you're a legend and I'm sure you'll keep smashing out everything in front of you. Keen for the new chapter!
Thanks Al. You boys have been a staple for me every Saturday morning with a large jug of coffee. Loved every second. Bring on Saturday morning coffees and the Wood factory 🪵🪵🪵
I can't believe it's been 7 years mate. Cheers for all your hard work and dedication. It has been an awesome experience to share. Looking forward to seeing you again. Absolute privilege. Cheers
That “talking shit” Al mentioned is one of my favourite parts of the show. Love hearing your thoughts and ideas from your years of experience. But glad to hear you’re now taking some time to focus more on you and the things you want to achieve. Very happy that you’ll still be a feature from time to time on the background. Will certainly continue to support the channel and support Woody. Skid Factory has been my number one show out for many years.
😢 I've also been here since it was MCM2. It's kinda like having a dear friend move to another country. I know I get to see him again, but it's never gonna be the same. I've been on Patreon for years. Actually the reason why I made it. A sad goodbye. Thank you for every minute! This has been my favourite show for years. Getting to know you, and a bit of the family too. Oh, how life goes around. Hey Woody! I'll be here still. Don't worry. It'll be tough, and ya hair will be all gray by the end of the year, but I have full confidence, that you'll be doing great as primary host! Maybe take on a young bloke. Now you're the wisdom-giver. All love from me to you. Thank you for all the years. Can't believe how time marches on. Cheers. ❤
Good on ya woody! I’ll be glad to keep watching what you do next. Al’s the OG and I remember first seeing him as “turbo Yoda” and wondering, “I wonder what that guys working on?” It was a great run and super glad to have enjoyed it for this long. See ya soon Al and enjoy being able to work on cars without having to stop every second and move cameras or do another take!
Thanks Al, and Woody. Been here since the start. You inspired me plenty. I have a built RB30 Patrol now, pretty much thanks to the enthusiasm that you project. I don’t know if I’d have made it through the build without your tips and tricks and solid advice.
Thanks Al, your ability to share knowledge and sense of humour are amazing. Thanks for the last 7 years and looking forward to seeing Woody continuing the great work!
Going to miss you Al. Its a little bit delayed for us in America- cars are different for us than what you guys deal with down under. Different engines and different chassis. Just enough in common to make it really interesting. Watching you guys work with LS swaps and slightly different Ford products as well as JDM. Watching you guys deal with the different laws and regulations - i wont take for granted our freedom to do basically whatever we want most of the time when compared to you guys in Australia and New Zealand. Makes the builds more interesting. So i will really miss your skills on display. Your sense of humor is a real bonus. Good luck in what ever you do.
Cheers for the memories Alan aka turbo Yoda. End of a era. Been watching since day 1 on this channel. Built some amazing machines. Will be greatly missed on the channel. I'm sure woody will keep the torch burning bright in your honor mate! 😁🍻 All the best with the future builds and in life! 🤙
So keen to see what you have in store for us Woody, I know Al won't be able to stay away as he love for cars will have him poking his head into your garage a fair bit I reckon!
Save your shit talks for a radio show and I’ll have you on again! Haha thank you for hosting and hanging around! Glad to hear you’ll be taking a break and relaxing with some builds instead of “we’re gunna lose the shop” builds !

Woody hope this year is good to you will be for sure to tune in still to see how it all goes! Congrats on all the achievements
Have mixed feelings about Al not being involved as much and handing the reins over to Woody. I mean I understand why he is doing it, but I was first introduced to Al as "Turbo Yoda" through Mighty Car Mods many years ago. I have been with the Skid Factory since it began because I enjoyed Al and his knowledge. So I may not be watching as much, may become a "lurker" on the Wood Factory. I do wish Woody the best of luck. I am really going to miss seeing the "Old Man". Cheers to you all from the USA👍
End of an era for sure, but change is inevitable. Appreciate these years I've had with you Al, hope you continue to tell people on the internet they don't know what they're talking about 😂
Not sure you will read this.. but Al my man! Thanks a lot for the ride! Had tons of fun and learned a lot. I've been watching from the first video and it's shocking to hear the show has been on the road for seven years already! Time flies when having fun ;) Take care and have fun with the new projects! Cheers from the Netherlands.
Good luck guys! ❤️ Al, the VCT phenomenon could be cam timing. When you do a twin cam 30 engine the factory cam gear marks arent actually where the cam is meant to be degreed at in relation to the crank. ive found they can be out as much as 8 degrees!

Thanks for all the knowledge and laughs Al. Seems a long time since the early MCM collaborations, hope to see you back and looking forward to seeing Woody take things forwards
Thanks for all your work Al, it has really helped many of us live through some awful years lately, whatever those circumstances may be. Woody, you are a legend too so keep up the good work.
Good luck in all your future endeavours boys, going to miss Alan’s in depth shit talking but it’s nice to see him chasing his passion. You got this woody
I’ve been watching this show since 2018 I think when you did the td42 auto patrol. One thing I will say is my favourite part is your explanation of things. I’d say I have an above average understanding of mechanical stuff but for whatever reason your explanation of the little technical things just works for me and I’ve found that the most enjoyable. You provide great insight and knowledge in a lot of things that 90% of people would overlook when planning a build, most definitely myself included. Nothing against woody, and I do look forward to seeing what he has to offer, but that was the main reason I watched this show so much. Best of luck in the future mate, hopefully I can find somewhere to here you ramble somewhere else haha 🍻
Good luck to you too Al in everything you do from here on in. Been a pleasure to listen and watch and at least try and absorb the knowledge you exude. Brilliant work that man. Look forward to the new you too Woody. Will be watching with anticipation
I guess I might be a bit of a late comer, starting to watch a couple of years ago. I’m with the rest on here, you will be missed Al, all the best and hope you’ll still make regular visits. Cheers from Canada
Will defo miss the in depth knowledge segments from Al but excited to see what Woody has planned for us. Enjoy getting back to what you love Al and best of luck for the future of the channel Woody!
Al you've been an absolute legend, you've provided vast amounts of knowledge, great entertainment but more importantly an escape from the real world on a weekly basis. All the best for the future and looking forward to a few guest appearances.
End of an era... Turbo Yoda will be missed, but looking forward to seeing him pop in to both TSF and MCM! And I'm not going ANYWHERE. Quality content and awesome guys. Why go looking for awesome when it's already right here?
Nothing but love to you, Al. It has been as absolute pleasure learning and laughing with you. I can't wait to see your cameos on the new Skid Factory and over at that one channel with Marty and Moog. All the best to you!
Really looking forward to see where woddy takes this, I have loved watching and meeting al on the odd occasion but getting to watch woddy build this channel behind the scenes and knowing how passionate he is about it makes me think the best is yet to come, plus when al drops in it will be that much more special. We are here supporting you woddy!
Missing you already, Alan 😢 We'll see you from time to time, I hope! No doubt you will have to make sure Woody is doing things properly 😂 Thanks for all the entertainment & awesome advice along the way! Cheers. Leigh. 🏴
Thanks Al. You have grown and evolved with the channel. I remember when you first started in front of the camera, what a viewing experience thanks again :)
Thanks Al, ive been enjoying every episode and learned a lot from you, it wouldnt be the same without you but i am sure i will see you around both on here and on MCM. Thanks for all the knowledge you shared and all the laughs. Woody i will keep watching and supporting you and looking forward to all the new things that are coming to the channel.
Keep your eyes peeled for 300ZX SHIRTS! theskidfactory.com
That design is so sweet. Seriously thinking about grabbing one.
Was hoping this car build would drag out for another 30eps knowing this is the last build with Alan on the channel 🥹
They reckon he'll still be there but in the background actually doing work
