If they want to travel by a different method they can pay for it out of their own earnings from whatever their daily business is, be it farmer, baker or candlestick maker. For lodging, until we can build a dorm in DC they can get a room at Motel 6 or equivalent; what is that something like $35 a night? We should probably set a generous $10 limit to start. They can attempt to justify why we should pay for the inflation they caused. 3 meals a day for reimbursement for lets say up to $7.25 (aka Federal Minimum Wage which is probably unconstitutional) per meal including tip. We'll give them a 30 minute break for meals. That's about $22 a day for meals. Isn't that about what they pay for jury duty? Why should Congress get paid more than a jury?
