hold on. Ariel is getting paid to do exactly that. I dont deny he doesnt like it. in fact i think he loves it. He asks a lot of questions nobody else dares to ask and he definetely does his homework. anyway for dana to deny answers in that bullish manner is pretty low imo
Ariel asks Dana White so many dumb questions! Can you imagine what it would be like to deal with Ariel? He's a constant fly twitching in your ear and Dana does his best to answer most of his questions with respect so cut the guy a break when he acts like the billionaire that he is once in a while. Most billionaires are assholes to the public and the press, Dana White is not.
***** Ariel asks the tough questions to which the fans want to know the answers... It is a hell of a lot better than the regular ass kissing basic asked by most of the other analyst/journalist.

Hugo Stiglitz They have a very interesting relationship. He's always clowning Ariel, yet he always gives him those long-form interviews through MMA Fighting. I have to give Ariel credit, though, because he can take a joke and doesn't take the mocking serious. It's just joking around, but their relationship is good I'm sure. You, obviously, don't give interviews to someone you don't want to talk to.

Ariel's question about Demetrius Johnson was retarded. I'm a fan of his and I like how he stirs the pot sometimes but man, sometimes he makes me laugh. That question made me laugh. I liked Dana's response on that one. "I'd have to say yes".

Condit won his last fight and lost a very controversial decision (in which he was supposed to win) in my opinion.
Rory would get whooped by Condit, not to mention the fact he doesn't even deserve to fight him right now.
Dude, people can say what ever the hell they want about Dana White but the man is a beast. I can't even imagine how hard he works behind the scenes. Mainly cuz it seems the camera is always on him and when he speaks like this, about what's in store for the UFC it's hard not to get excited. 2014 is going to be a fantastic year for the UFC.

I enjoy the scrums, but some of the MMA 'journalists' need to think about the questions they want to ask before speaking. Ariel, leave the PPV/ratings questions to Dave Meltzer, he knows what he's talking about.

Fighters having problems with getting sponsors are directly resulted from UFC policy on sponsoring and charges that they put on sponsors. Smaller sponsors can not afford to pay UFC for the rights to sponsor a fighter simple as that.
Yeah, he said they were re-structuring it. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

I love that Dana says the economy is bad and people aren't spending money while also announcing an increase in PPV price. The hypocrisy of it while also railing on piracy is astounding. BTW no way is this raise in price point a one-off. Either they'll do it for every "big" card or they're dipping their toes in the water to see if the buys don't drop with the intention of raising them permanently for all cards in the future.

Yeah, I could never understand how hard is job is... Just imagine having to deal with fighters career ending injuries, watching people get punched in the face for entertainment, and then going to bed on a stack of 50 million dollars that the fighters deserve to have... I wouldn't be able to cope.

It might seem crazy, but add up the total paid to the fighters that night including bonuses. Its like $530,000. not mentioning the rest of the staff and other bills they had to pay for setting up the event. The gate was only $322,742.50. I know that isn't including sponsor deals and what not, but you gotta take that into account for the fighters too. Not saying I don't want fighters pay to be better though.
Thekentkennedy i know, but Diaz wasn't garanteed a bonus when he signed the contract. when they lose they still have to pay the trainers etc. you're right about all of the staff end expenses ufc has, i bet thats a shit-load of money.

Well that can be considered a good thing though, since they are encouraged to fight harder and go for the finish to get the big bucks. The good thing about paying trainers is that its a percentage of their purse most of the time, not a set amount. I hope that percentage doesn't include taking it out of their bonuses though, that would be pretty fucked up

If Dana and the UFC wanted to be smart about the Primetimes, then they would try to get it on the regular FOX because not everyone has Fox Sports 1. That's why the views aren't good, it's pretty fucking simple to me.
It's simple, yeah? The reality is it isn't that 'simple'. A UFC Primetime type show doesn't have a viewership numbers to air on 'Big Fox' during a peak time slot.
It could actually, they could also put it on FX. But it being on FS1 when the channel is new and not everyone has it is a bad idea and that's why the views are so little. Just like this past season of TUF, it did horrible in views being on FS1. As opposed to TUF 17 on FX, it averaged over 1 million viewers an episode.
