Yup, because he's not an idiot risking brain damage by standing flat footed and swinging like a drunk ape at the guy standing across from him.
It's such a shame that an undefeated Olympian, master trash talker, with a crazy scrambling style and such an unorthodox Folkstyle wrestling style is not approached by UFC.
It's about entertainment at the end of the day, and I'm sure most folks would rather not see that one-dimensional wet blanket compete in the UFC.
Chubzdoomer Most folks are uneducated and are too lazy to learn any technical things in life but due to their poor uneducated ways, the educated ones suffer. A "wet blanket" is a term for a fighter who, upon completing a takedown, stays in one spot and does not attempt to pass, does not posture up or create any scrambles. For example: Chad Mendes last night upon completing takedowns. Askren brings such a unique style of takedowns and such crazy scrambles that his style of wrestling is way more fun to watch than other wrestlers.
To each his own but I think it's more a testament to how uneducated sports fans and society is in general when guys like CodyMcKenzie and Kimbo Slice are cheered on in the UFC while a undefeated and true athlete is insulted and rejected by the number one organization in the world.

I find it hard to take you serious when you refer to people as "uneducated" for not being a fan of Askren yet one of the good qualities you gave him was "master trash talker" like that's even a good thing. He does have great wrestling man but this is MMA and since he chooses to be one dimensional and not mix things up he's not a true mixed martial artist. Not only that but he's also really boring at the only thing he's good at doing! He finished his last 2 fights yes but over fighters who aren't really worth mentioning. He's not a fighter that people would wait hours for in line at an expo. Don't have to be "educated" to understand that

I agree with almost everything Dana says here except for what he says about Ben Askren. He should be in the UFC. Every time someone asks Dana something about Askren he changes his answers. Before he hasn't fought any competition, now he's not his type of guy. WTF! and yes he did suggest that he sign with the world series of fighting. Just say you didn't want him. Ariel knows this. What bothers me about Ariel is that he seems to always side with the UFC, He never challenges Dana on any issue It seems Ariel knows not to bite the hand that feeds you.
He just allows Dana to either be truthful, or not. It's for the people watching to say "that's not true"

***** There are only 5 ways to get the belt: Tapout, TKO, KO, & Choke out or forfeit. Which one did Hendricks accomplish? The optics of the fight say GSP lost on damage absorbed - that's it. Hendricks himself admitted he quit on the fight in the post fight because he thought he had it. A rematch is definitely required.

at about 8:00, Dana says, "you wanna beat the best, you want to beat the best", but Askren can't get into the UFC, while there are 80+ welterweights under contract to the UFC. Phuq the UFC, and their "The Best MMA Fighters fight here" bullshiat. Askren is now signed to the largest MMA organization, according to market size (have you phuqs checked the Asian population lately?). Once he owns them, like he did Belator's welterweights, the UFC will come calling.

Here after Askren signed with the UFC and is probably going to fight Robbie Lawler in January 2019. Anything's possible in this sport.
Its been sad to see the UFC go from such promise of developing a sports product to a WWE sports entertainment product ala WWE where competitors are picked based on whose the promoters "type of guy" and not whose actually the best.
The credibility in UFCs product has really been diminished.

Henderson's corner told him he was winning and he believed them. I don't know why he was celebrating when clearly the crowd had even witnessed no clear winner. A takedown at the end of a round does not win you a championship. This was an even match that could have been a draw, but we all know a draw decision in a championship fight goes to the champ. You have to take it TO and “undoubtedly” FROM the champ. I’m sure I heard the crowd chanting GSP throughout the fight and at the end.
For Dana White, to come out and publicly humiliate UFC's classist reining star is grossly sickening. I don’t think the Nevada State Commission hurt UFC here nearly much as Dana White done on this night. Where is Dana’s apology?
