Arlovski does have really crisp boxing. It's kinda crazy how JDS has been able to impose his boxing on tons of guys when the UFC heavyweight division has never been stronger. Maybe part of it is that the wrestlers have squandered their opportunities with him. But there's something to be said for fighters who always figure out how to win and keep their game plan in tact. I mean, when Rodgers took AA out, I don't think that was a chin issue; I think anybody would go down from a combo like that.

lol, I don't know which video or comment, but someone told me about "mma fighting", a channel Ariel runs here on youtube that had some more recent videos. Shame he abandoned his original youtube channel without announcing on that channel where he was going, but at least he's still on here. There's a really great interview with Rory Mcdonald on there. Thoroughly enjoyed.
because they weren't letting him fight enough, had a contract dispute and left iirc. i wish he'd come back, he's entering his prime and he'd show all these young fighters how to strike. lets just say he'd dominate Anderson Silva in a k1 fight. :D

I also agree that JDS is better then Overeem, but the fact is Werdum is a lot improved fighter since he fought JDS.
hands has a very good chin he has the best hands in hw best meaning accuracy knock out power speed his form is great and he has great combos and a very good ability to read the person ive watched all his fights and he seems to be in another realm against most his opponents the cain fight i will give it to cain that he vastly underestimated jds but i say 2nd round ko also one thing jds has against most hws he has a much greater understanding of his limitations and fortitude which is something

Yeah Dana really didn't like Hawani in this interview. He seems to be pretty ticked off at Ariel.
Actually, now that you mention it, I do think Dana exaggerates and has a bit of a bias despite his claims to the contrary. He would say that Fedor didn't fight guys like Gonzaga, who was one of the best heavyweights in the world, and then Dana cut him. Werdum was "a guy who couldn't make it in the UFC," even though he was doing pretty well, and didn't renew his contract, only to bring him back where he's won twice.
I was looking at his record on wikipedia, and it looks like he had 3 wins in a row in the UFC, and then he made his way to Affliction. Do you know why he left the UFC? Seemed like he had a good thing going.
i didnt like dana for a while but to be honest he seems like an alright guy i think people look past all of the bullshit this guy has to deal with he speaks his mind and really respects his fighters idk just seems like a pretty cool guy and he called out ariel halwani so he gets props again
I'm actually more interested in JDS vs Cain because I think the fight would last longer, and Cain hopefully wouldn't waste time dancing with JDS, shoot, and then we could see JDS off his back or maybe in trouble. It's fun to see JDS knock guys out, but none of the wrestlers or BJJ artists have tested him yet; they've all squandered their opportunities by trying to go toe to toe with him.
Think what you want about Dana White, the UFC wouldn't be the same without him...

As much as I want to see JDS vs Overeem, champions picking their fights is a terrible precedent to set. It's understandable with Anderson, but JDS should still be fighting whoever is put in front of him. If JDS fights Overeem, the UFC is obviously making fights that make sense for the business and not the sport.

And it's telling that you would discredit his Shogun win, but completely fail to acknowledge the controversial 'loss' to Rampage, who was visibly shocked when his own name was announced. Ryan Bader (who just beat Rampage) is ranked #5-6. Machida dominated him and knocked him out with ease. That's how he's ranked in the top five.
Hmmm...Title fight on Fox? Why not - maybe Interim 135? it's not "real" title, so we can put it on Fox, right? And Renan going against for example - Mike McDonald could be awesome fight. With "Fox Magic" that delivers outstanding cards thus far it could end up as Fight Of The Year. What you guys think?
actually Zuffa (the UFC) is responsible for all the production on Fox events. So it was a choice Dana and the Fertidas made, to have that music and the robot fighter guys similar to the NFL guys. Personally, idk if I like it or not. It doesn't bother me though.

Agree with Dana's reason 100% for why he gave it to Machida. Machida wants Jones bad. Been following BlackHouseMMA on facebook and he's in there every day training hard. The guys he's been training with over the last 3 months are better than most of the guys Jones has beat. Machida's camp also says they think they found a huge hole in Jones' game and that the next fight will be "very different"... Dragon is back baby
I think Cain and Overeem are the only dudes with a legit chance of beating JDS. Cain because hes not coming off a long lay off, its not an excuse but having a year out and coming back against someone as good as JDS was never going to be easy. Overeem because of his sheer power, striking and hes got legit submission game. I would love to see JDS and Overeem. Crazy Punches vs Crazy Kicks and Knees. Overeem can punch but not like JDS. Dont be surprised to see Cain win the title back though

Well, if 2 powerful strikers throw down, there's a good chance the fight won't go the distance and somebody will get knocked out. That's why everyone was stunned when the JDS vs Carwin fight went the distance. But if Cain roughs Junior up against the cage, maybe takes him down, and they grind for awhile, unless Cain cuts him like he did Bigfoot, or unless JDS snatches a limb and submits Cain, it stands to reason that the fight would last longer. Cain won't be dumb enough to dance a 2nd time.
One woman reporter near the camera mic has a really cute/sexy muffled laugh. Like a little short laugh while mouth is closed. I liked that.

Werdum is really but really much better in stand up then he was when he fought JDS. JDS Is much better for sure too, but you cant look at it that way.

I think most people want to see Cain fight, Overeem is cool but Cain is next in line.

If Overeem couldn't fuck Fabricio Werdum up, a guy JDS put away for his UFC debut early in round 1, then explain to me why you're so confidant that he would fuck up Junior Dos Santos, who is undefeated in the UFC and has the greatest boxing in the history of MMA heavyweights.
There aren't very much superheavyweight.. in the ufc you only got overeem carwin and hunt.. (there are other ones just over 250 but they would cut weight)

Well, your opinion of these fighters is obvious in your nicknames for them. Don't think I'd have enough space to give an adequate response. I'm extremely impressed with a guy who has 9 consecutive wins in the UFC heavyweight division and has never been in trouble. Not too many human beings could do that. Aside from Fedor, a guy whom people either praise or shit on (he's my personal fav) what heavyweights have truly impressed you in this sport?
Apparently Lauzon is only a purple belt in BJJ? And he only received that 9 months ago. Is it too soon to promote him to brown? Because after last nights performance he definitely deserves it.

He's no joke, in his prime he was the most dominant heavyweight in the world, but he didn't have the competition that we have today either, but he just got old, one day you cant move like you used to, and not to mention his managers sucked and wouldn't let him fight often, so he just deteriorated.

I know where the 'money' can come from, I just find it funny how his fight contract was for only 50,000 on the biggest fight in revenue for the UFC. I'm sure he got alot from the UFC in their undisclosed bonuses for ppv buys. Dana White admits to paying fighters this but says that part is private and doesn't disclose those numbers.

I do respect Werdum. He beat Fedor, my fav fighter and one of the GOAT. The point was, Overeem never hurt Werdum over 3 rounds, and JDS has put away almost everybody - including Werdum, and JDS was a UFC rookie when he did it. He could barely speak English. So it's dumb to say with confidence that Reem will "fuck JDS up." Maybe he will, but it's an overzealous, unwarranted position to hold. BTW, my "pathetic arguments" have 5 thumbs up after only 2 days. Evidence and logic can take you places.
The Ref's were not amazing, herb deans stoppage in the main even was a bit late, you could easily see that Vera was out when he landed on his own fking head.. It was something else i didn't like but overall it was a supercard! xd

Well it is a legit question because they volunteer to have their drug test release prior to the fight when usually it doesn't come out until after the fight for good reasons so the fight can still be on but nevermind now since Rory cut himself to avoid the drug test and the fight.
