My adansonia gets yellow leaves too and I think it’s because it doesn’t like getting dried out. Same with my monstera Peru and the white wizard and pink princess. The rest of the monsteras and philodendrons can get dry and not yellow leaves. Do you find that also? What plants yellow for you when they dry out? The philo silver sword too
I’m about to put my adonsonii into a self watering pot. I killed 2 and this one is finally thriving and I don’t let it get dry. As soon as the top inch or so is dry I water again.
At the bottom of the pole on the adansonii mint, the roots looked like there were so many that they were clogging the bottom of the pole. I had that problem once and ended up chopping and restarting the base because I thought it had outgrown the inside of the pole. Would the roots have been able to adjust with just a larger pot upsize?

I think you’re right! In general these don’t want to dry out all the way to begin with and when they get rootbound, eeeek

Why not extinguish the wick before dipping.. those poor burning roots :(
