Gloriosum are crawlers! Thats probably why they haven’t been doing well. I have one that I’ve definitely under watered but he is in a long thing of soil and I’ve never had an issue
You don’t open the tabs in the front of the pole? Thats why they are in the front like that so that you don’t need grafting tape or certainly not as much as you’ve used.
I tried it with a few plants but had issues with the plant growing inside the pole, totally my fault as I didn’t stay in top of it right when it happened

Gloriosum’s are crawlers and the stem needs to be above the soil/pon otherwise it could rot ❤
