Wait, you submerge the roots/corns in water while they grow in pon? Doesn't that mean you're just growing it in water?
My self watering pots with clear bottoms and wicks don't turn greenðĪ·ââïļ
Perfect!!
Ok, so as I've added a lot of semi-hydro to my collection, I've done the self watering pots with the indicators (that always get stuck) and a lot of clear nursery pots in cache pots, but what I find easiest but definitely not pretty is just my nursery pots with a filled saucer so I can see when it's empty. How do you see or know in those 3D printed pots when your water reservoir is dry? Do you have to lift up each plant to look? Or just ques from the plant that it's thirsty? I like to be able to scan the rooms, so I can see who's empty. So solid reservoirs on a lot of plants seem a bit trickier.
what was the tissue culture plant and its says there is a part 2. i cant seem to find it ,
Hi Claudia! I ordered a few pots from Rare Plant Bae the other day after hearing you talk about them so often. I love pon so Iâm excited to try them out! Just an fyi, your discount code doesnât work on the website. I ordered them anyways lol, but just thought Iâd let you know in case others also canât use the discount code! Very helpful video btw ð
I moved my first plant to Pon three months ago, I think. Since then Iâve moved 14 more over. My black velvet just gave me leaf the size of my hand and its roots out grew its pot soooo quickly. Youâre videos gave me the confidence/ knowledge to move that plant to pon and Iâm so so happy I did. Pon takes a lot of error out of growing so many plants b/c im such an underwaterer!
Very useful. Thank you. I am currently using 2 Lecuza Deltini for Porthos and they work great. I have been looking for smaller ones for 2 mini Orchids.
Just found your channel. Your plants are beautiful! I donât use PON, but I use soilless soil for my aroids and some are in Naked Root Planter. So far no algae, but I am not sure what is âto wetâ for Alocasia. Some always want water, where some do not. I guess itâs like children they arenât all the same.
Sitting in my office waiting for my husband, because weâre going to ikea for a Rudsta tall. They have sage green! ðĪŊ Of course Iâm going to check the plant selection. And Iâm getting the little propagation station, because I can!
I just like the bitter flavor of coffee. Even if i drink decaf, i enjoy it. Cold coffee with cinnamon dolce ð i have made some self-watering pots for my sensitive plants. So far they are doing fine.
Iâm curious about transferring plants from soil to on. Do you have the video? Or is it pretty close back in your videos that I could find it.
I remember watching in the water straw. How often do you Ned to replace the water in the bottle.
I havenât beefed to replace the water at all. Itâs clean and clear and gave only refilled twice. Itâs so easy going
The first two plants Iâd put in to that pot would be my variegated maranta and my calathea feathers. They are two to at always have crispy tips. I am 98% sure Iâd try this. I think youâve got me converted.
Please report back if you try!
Where do you get the tall ones.
The 3D printed are from rare plant bae
Thank you for this report Iâve been thinking if trying pon. So this is very handy for me.
So glad you found it helpful ð
Iâve never drunk coffee except when I sat for a friends attempt to get her black apron at. Starbucks. She took extra classes to learn. Part of being there was to taste some coffee. It was vile!! That was the mild one. I couldnât do the bold one. It was much stronger. But I was there for her
Thatâs so sweet of you! To be fair I donât like Starbucks, super unpopular opinion but I find it very bitter
I actually started using APIâs Algaefix in my clear self watering planters with every watering and that definitely seems to help with the algae growth!
Where did you find the algaefix?
Iâve been meaning to try this!
@@iamclaudiaq def try it!!
I am very happy about this video. Thank you! So very helpful. I would love it if you had a BEST Trellis video. I need wide ones for my hoya, so hard to find! Anyway, which pot would be your favorite for Hoya of the self watering pots? Or do you not put them in self watering? Much obliged!! <3 Thank you again!! Loved this very important video.
Iâm so glad you found this helpful! It took a lot of trial and error to find pots I liked. For Hoyas id either the starter version or these if you have in pon amzn.to/4fF5pqS or these for soil amzn.to/4i9KopM
@@iamclaudiaq Thank you so much!

I loveee iced matcha! Something Iâve noticed is that hot matcha isnât nearly as sweet as my iced version although I hardly use any ice.
I still need to try some hot recipes, I wonder why?!
Thanks for the info!ð
So glad you enjoyed! ð

First to comment! I love your videosâĪ
Thank you so much for watching ðŦķ
That what happened to my alocasia low rider, ðĒ I had to put it in leca instead and I Don't give it a reservoir I water it with nutrient water about every 3-4 days growing alot more better now.
Good luck with the alocasia-mine did the same & I lost it-it was a rescue & I didnât act as quick as you so fingers crossed xxxxx
Youâre not by yourself with the mess..even with a mat I manage to make a mess on my floor. Thank goodness for hardwood floors. I am considering a Clarinervium. I purchased a Forgetii. It came in a little rough shape but looks like itâs hanging in there. Iâm leaning itâs care.
So glad to hear itâs not just me ð. The mat helps but yea, lots of mess everywhere haha. Highly recommend a clarinervium- such a rewarding and beautiful one!
Nail polish remover will get rid of the name branding in the pot.
Doing this right now! Thank you!!!
Hi Claudia!! First off I love your videos very informative. I purchased the same seedling trays with the light. How long do you leave the light on each day? I look forward to your next video ð

I feel your pains with the corm. I had 9 corms in stratum that grew lovely little plants. I transferred them into pon and everyone of them struggled . I have 4 "survivors" that have roots put no growth. I just took two of them out of pon, put them in a chunky aroid mix, they seem to be doing better than the two in pon. Time will tell how they do. It is like solving a puzzle.ðð
I think your sheers are probably dull. You should try bonsai sheers theyâre fantastic.
That anthurium is beautiful. I think the shears just didn't go all the way across the corm is why it didn't do a good cut.
I think youâre right! I should have used my larger ones
ððŧððŧððŧ
The stump is too big for the shears.
Yep. Iâd go until the bubbling stops.
I always make a mess too. But I bought a small broom and dustpan just to clean it up.
Looks great. Good size pot for it youâll get big leaves and it will size up fast.
Root porn!
I guess itâs time to repot. ð
I was not expecting that many roots! No wonder it stopped growing leaves ð
Canât wait to see a âglow upâ of this plant.
Where did you order the big pots from?
Amazon!
Those are cool. Iâve seen @plantsbymelissa uses those in her Alocasias too
Good afternoon Claudia. I hope you have a nice weekend.
Do you think the alocasia went dormant? I have two living in not so great conditions (season change ) that did the same out of nowhere! But others are fine. 26:24
I would use a knife, like a chefâs knife to make those cuts. ðĪ·ðžââïļ
Hi Claudia, love your content. I noticed your ficus in the video and wonder if you keep it in pon, as well or what substrate do you keep it in. I have many ficus plants but one in particular that has been with me for over 10 years and it needs a repot soon. Since I am transitioning into pon I was thinking about placing it in pon too. What are your thoughts? Thank you.
Hi! Thank you so much for being here and watching ðŦķ My ficus trees are in soil, I find them super easy to keep in a well aerated mix. I havenât tried ficus in pon, my guess is it would shock pretty bad as it transitions but for should bounce back with good care and light.
@ Thank you do much.
Omg your Crystal definitely needed a repot! Lol Iâm sure it will be super happy in its new pot ð
Those roots!!! ð
Any planters you like that are self watering but tall? My 7 inch pots are nice but not deep enough for some of my anthuriums
This is my exact complaint too. I like the 3D printed pots from rare plant bae but the largest is 6.5â rareplantbae.com/products/matching-self-watering-pot-set?variant=47534406304040
Hey! Love your videos :) How long have you been a plant mom for? Or got serious about it? Also how much did u pay for the silica? That brand for me in Canada is over 100.00! We're supposed to add silica before anything else?! I was taught we have to add the cal / mag before anything else! Am I wrong?!
Hiâ thank you so much for watching ðŦķ I got my first plant in 2017 and a few months later I was we filling my space with them ð And this small bottle of silica was almost $50 which is still a lot but geez, 100 is crazy! So silica needs to be added before anything otherwise it causes a nutrient lock out, you can add cal mag after that- I try to wait 15min after silica
