    Better than advertised (120 kW Peak) 👍. Great that there is a HVAC Power-Bypass while charging. This should be better in all EVs. Not only in e-Tron and Model 3. Hey Car-Manufacturers : Listen to uncle Bjørn! He knows best! Thanks for your Video.

    3:00: Heater and charging.
    When charging on CC (Constant Current) part of the charge, the car communicates with the charger telling it the maximum current (in amps), this is based on what the battery can take.
    When Bjørn states that the heater bypass the charger, what really is happening and s that the charger adds the current draw of the heater to the max current that the car communicates to the charger...
    A very smart implementation...

    • @T1bolus
      @T1bolus 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, but the car also communicate that to the charger. It's only a software feature and has nothing to do with hardware. Every car can do it

      @@thelondonbroiler No, the Bolt have not implemented this in the charger.
      You are talking about the constant voltage (CV) part of the charge. On the CV part of the charge, the laws of physics have already implemented this feature.....
      In addition, when you charge on a low C-rate due to a cold battery, the CV part vil start at a higher SOC, so the problem is greater when it's cold....

    What do you think about the new Ionity pricing Bjorn?

  • @CybertuxSpain
    @CybertuxSpain 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why is it called 50 or 55? Just because it's an indication of power class. E.g these figures can be compared to an Audi A6 50 tfsi or A4 40 tdi. This method is introduced to make it easier to compare models without bothering about the type of engine.
    By the way: I followed your advise and bought an Audi e-tron 50 Quattro S-line. In Holland it's called Black Edition.
    It was a good advise! :-) Thanks!

    Like I actually think that 50 is better deal than 55, as 55 is too expensive for its range and 50 is a good option as a second car, or only car if you dont drive for more than 200km too often, 55 cost 20k more and you only get like 60 - 70km of range more. I would rather save those 20k and rent a fossil car if I would need to take a long trip.
