Imagine charging into war and being back up with this heavenly music
Good for those who got into this unit and even better for those who manage to stay on in it with a full time contract after the 2 year conscription period is over. Because you want to use musical skill to earn a living in Singapore you have to very lucky to made yourself into a renowned musical artist whether its overseas or in Singapore. Only a very small number can have the luck and resources to get into this field. All the rest if you still want to persist in music in singapore you have to secure yourself a job in a bar or lounge then and vacancies are limited as hotels, cruise ships and local art bars are limited and cannot support all with musical inclinations in it.
Worse come to worst you can end up doing gig jobs at getais, funerals and temple fair events then. These count as musicians too. 🙂
In Singapore schools and saf are cradles for Singaporeans. When you leave these cradles you will be welcome into the real world and how much you understand how Singapore is structured and govern and what kind of choices you made will determine and made your life for life in Singapore. Use the time while at school and military to think of what you want to do once you are kick out of these institutions. Don't start to think only when you are outside in the real world.
I am a very good consultant and parent in life. Many people with kids but don't know how to express themselves and impart their knowledge and wisdom to their children have send them to me and I basically use the same tone and style in these words to convey important knowledge to clueless people. Some appreciate it. Some won't. They lack the maturity and brain to process and digest these informations and then they go on with their lives as they see fit. I show them the way and the door and told them once out of the door you are on your own in this world. Don't bother crying for friends,parents or me for help,advise and second chances in life. I am doing your parents aka people I am warm to a favour not you. So good luck and good riddance.

Very hard to keng into this unit during preliminary body medical check up when being call up for enlistment. They won't be around during outfield and on the battleground. Mostly appear at gala shows instead.
Heard all their 2.4km are below 8min
It's so obvious that PAP is the only competent and effective party that has the capability to build up a strong armed forces in the country. Remarkable!❤❤

Its a conscript army, not voluntary.

Orchestra and CO are made up of mostly strings. Saf band is one of the few sole wind bands of Singapore and are known for international standard. And it takes alot to join this band too not Keng only can go in a lot of professional musicians don’t even have a chance to enter.
You do know that most armies in the world have their own bands right? Even in other conscript army countries. Furthermore, if they hire other professional bands to play their music, do you think those professional bands would want to/are trained in drills and marching?
