Lol I visited Penang before the pandemic and told my friend the same thing! It looks like Singapore from my childhood 😂 It was lovely though, you have good food over there!
Well... Singapore had been modernized while Malaysia.... kept their own culture and traditions, never to change, expect some big development cities like Kuala Lumpur etc., but they still kept old buildings
Cool groovy music. Nice footage. Can imagine my primary school self walking around orchard with my mum. One thing definitely didn’t change in Singapore …. The weather! ie … hottttt haha
Nice singapore back in the 1980, i was there few years back. Such a great nation! those u see to be 40+ years old is now 84+ year old. Life is short! enjoy life !
I’ve lived in Singapore for the past 20 years and it seems that no matter how much progress, there’s one thing this government doesn’t get right: It’s always been and still remains a city designed around and for cars. I’m glad to see that in Europe there’s been real progress towards public mobility in the past 20 years…
yeah , i get what you mean , im Singaporean and i feel cycling isn't considered a serious mode of transportation , but rather for recreation . i've given up the idea of commuting to work which is 23 km away ...im too chicken to cycle on the road(you know how we drive) so i take the PCN which will take me 2 hours

All the places shown are so familiar to me yet I can't recall the locations.
I am sitting in Penang today. This is exactly how many Malaysia towns look like in 2024!
But this was Singapore 40 years ago 😂

This is call old world charm, if u want city life go KL, that's the problem with SG, everything too new too modern, not bad but something is missing.
@@robertb4000 I thought Penang has build a lot of big malls and condo by the seas. A lot of Singaporeans bought there.
Oh my... those young men & ladies in the video. They should be in their late 60s or early 70s by now. Time really flies😢😢😢

To be honest, not to be negative, I am really glad that life is short. It's quite stressful to me.
@@flexibleguyAre u going to make life shorter?
@@12347873 I didn't come to this world by choice, so it feels wrong to make it shorter unnaturally. I'll just let the end come naturally.

Those days without Grab deliverymen speeding around or people poking smartphones on the streets😂
Lots more bookstores too. And kids playing sports and marbles. Simpler life, but we got by. I miss it, somewhat.
