So of course we are back and with more X men 97’ and this is episode 5 and it’s titled REMEMBER IT! In the mutant utopia, the series spotlights the love triangle between the aforementioned trio, as the subtext between the lines goes deeper to establish profound character dynamics. On the other hand, the X Mansion becomes witness to Scott and Jean Grey's rocky relationship. What a wild episode you all and looks like we lost Gambit probably my favorite X men and it hurt to see it I can’t lie

Showrunner confirms it's not a premonition. The intention was to make the first four episodes "feel good" and "safe" and then to pull a 9/11 to remind us the 90s ended and innocence was lost.

Yes, that was The Watcher. The watcher shows up whenever something big is about to happen. That's how they record events for history.
I just watched with my brother's munchkins. They sat their totally silent. Heavy stuff. I'm glad they're watching because I think it makes them think about a lot of intelligent parts of life, but whoa.
It’s like they understand what they’re seeing but don’t fully grasp it. They see people getting upset and know it’s not a good thing but the adult relationships are too complex for them to understand.

That was 100% the Watcher...He only shows up when a big event is about happen and what happened in this episode was a huge part of mutant history... When I saw him, It took me a minute for it to register that something crazy was about to happen..... I was like "hey the Watcher!!!!..cool....wait...oooooo shiiiiiit.."
1. The song Magneto and Rogue danced to was Happy nation by Ace of bass
2. This episode truly pulled at the heart strings
3. Remy LeBeau getting his flowers in an epic way was masterfully done
His last 2 lines is a callback to the original series where he said it. The title is the hint..😊

Gambit Is A Beast! He has always been one of my favorites, since X-Men was first aired! This episode tore me up the first time I watched it. When Magneto was taken out, then Gambit’s sacrifice…😲🫢😫 That was beast though! And Rogue touching his face gloveless and saying what she said… 😭😭 I’m all the way dialed in!
Why do people keep suggesting this be in live action. We saw it in live action and it was mostly trash. They had to go back 30 years and revive the only show to do it right. Keep it animated!! X-Men 97.... X-Men are back baby!! 🥹

I Feel Bad For Gambit
Scott psychically was still connected to Madelyn and that moment one could say that he was mentally cheating on Jean...but the original story was with Emma Frost.
Magneto always wanted to protect mutants. And he fought back sometimes preemptively. He has also protected or tried to protect humans who had also bn oppressed. He let his anger and life experience overwhelm him and take it out on humans without remorse or the civilian casualties.
If cyclops lost an eye, he could go eyepatch and monocle.

I don't know you two were getting in on this show. Hope you are doing well btw. There is a lot I can say about this show and parts to breakdown I will say it has no business being this good. I was a fan of the old series. I was expecting they would compliment that well enough but damn, I did not see them raising the stakes on this series this high. This episode of course then. My jaw was just hanging and flapping against my neck at the end. What an awesome cartoon.
Last episode. It was explained by one of the elder dorks to me that when that Storm story was published it came out of the blue then suddenly it cut off and switched a different story. Then later Part 2 was published. So I guess that is some sort of deep Easter egg basically where they released the episodes in the same sequence as the old published comics.
I watched this one and thought about the same premonition that happened to Maddy in the 1st episode which appears to have been a psychic communication from Cable who had been trying to stop this event. But then I thought the Motendo one and how it was all foreshadowing this. Jubilee and Sunspot are at home I think while this is happening. They go into a game Genosha but things are wrong and mutant haters with Sentinel tech are trying to take the mutants out (also it's a shout out to the game Mega Man 1 which was cool). Then it shifts and she's in Days Of Future Past fighting Sentinels. Her partner is taken down. Then meets a future version of herself who helps her beat a giant boss. That seemed so random but it was all hinting this episode too.

What if the genocide of genosha is a nexus event? I'm not sure how many time cable tries to change the event but he couldn't achieve it. That's for sure. The watcher showed up when dr strange tried to change a nexus event which was an absolute point time.

Eh. This makes the X-Men series stay on a dark path only. I feel like, without professor X, there can only be, a dark path. Like there can never be a good future for the team. Like team up with Erik and only a bad future will happen. I know in comics Erik is a leader and in a bad world, but come on.. we gotta stick to that story? Can't be nothing else?

The watcher is in this episode if you look well, he is watching genosha big event, so this is a canon situation that CAN NOT be changed, is one of those things that has to pass you want it or not, can't be changed and I believe that cable already tried more than once, because he said "not again" before saying "I'm sorry, mom"
