I'm having a PlayStation kick myself playing my Vita 2K model constantly. But I tend to gravitate more to my Switch because of the better hardware and it's easier to charge it next to my phones with USB-C. I'm trying to figure out what is my favorite video game of all-time? Since 1997, it's been Final Fantasy VII. I beat it in 1997 and 2002 on PS1. Then 2011 on a modded PSP. Then 2019 on a Vita. I also have the game for Android and Switch. But do I really replay it? Not really. If based on replay value, it would be Ridge Racer on PSP. I would play that game a few times every year since 2005. Then by PS4, I still felt out of the loop. I'm not into first-person shooters. Not aware of the many new franchises that were released during the last 15 years or so. I would get this device if priced under $300 consistently. But I hear Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us are not great PC ports. I don't want to buy a $300-$400 handheld only to play a few games like FF7 Remake, God of War (2018), and Shenmue III only to get less than 2 hours of gameplay. Sony still remains my favorite company in gaming but Nintendo does have better replay value in their games. They have the timeless cartoony look. Nintendo established a gaming culture that Sony never really succeeded in. While Valve doesn't make their own games and lacks the personality coming from Sony and Nintendo devices. Emulation Chinese handhelds lacks even more personality. Like when you see a Vita, you know that's a Sony PlayStation product. Nintendo has their first-party exclusives that you won't find anywhere else unless you wait 10 to 20 years for it to be emulated correctly.
I actually got a Switch V1 to hack (before the hardware mods are easy enough to obtain) to play Switch, PSVita, PSP, Gamecube JRPGs and other games. Kinda more budget to my pocket and light. I love the size of the Ayn Loki, Aya Neo Air, GPD Win 4 but their prices :(
Mine is the preview version(changed from release version because I get it in 2 days, not a month), they said the only different between preview version and release version is the fpc. Hope it won't effect the experience.
Hi Taki, sorry to comment off topic, but wondering if you could point me in the direction of a handheld that might best suit my needs. The systems I want to emulate would be GB, GBA, NDS, 3DS, PS1 and maybe some light Dreamcast/PS2 stuff. All this in the smallest possible form factor. I've got a modded 3DS which is decent but it doesn't handle the Playstation stuff too well at all. Air Plus looks okay but wanting something quite a bit smaller, if possible. Probably being a little unrealistic here but would love to hear any advice.
Ayn Odin (base and pro handle 3DS emulation quite well, the odin lite currently struggles a bit with the citra opengl build. However, once citra vulkan gets more mature, also the odin lite should be better regarding 3ds as well as smaller handhelds like the rp3plus). In general, the t618 android devices are a clever choice when some compromises can be done regarding gamcube and ps2 (and 3ds with the current opengl citra build).
It's cool, but Aya will just release another one 6 months from now. That's my biggest issue with Odin and Aya - they aren't sticking with one sku long enough to drive down cost & really polish the user experience.

Strangely enough, the AMD devices seem better spec-wise, but the intel devices still have something special that the AMD's cant touch. All intel need to do is get their mobile gpu game in order or team up with nvidia and let them handle the gpu side of the processor.
Great insight on this video as usual, Taki Udon! Love the videos. As for the device... Unfortunately, I think the temps, constant adjustments, and cost vs ROI (especially with their handhelds released less than a year ago!) is not worth it on the AyaNeo Air Plus. The GPD Win 4 and the supposed upcoming ASUS ROG ALLY handheld consoles, tacked on with AyaNeo's horrid customer service and support, make me want to skip this entirely. Maybe AyaNeo could stop throwing out so many consoles annually and put some more attention to 1-2 per year, at most. The idea of releasing these devices & varied models as frequent as a mobile phone, does not seem like a viable strategy year-after-year.
Hi Taki, I am wondering if you can check what's the SSD pcie. If it gen 3 or gen 4. I am now debating between advance version of 16g+512g then upgrade SSD myself vs getting 32g+2tb grey. You think it is worth the 400 extra? Thank you for your opinion.
Mine reports as PCIe 3.0. They told me that the first batch of units will all be PCIe 4.0. As for your second question, I've never found a difference between 16GB or RAM and 32GB of RAM for the kinds of games that I play. There are very few situations (with Steam games) where you will notice the difference. If I was going to use this as a main PC, I'd probably go with 32GB because it is way easier to use more RAM outside of gaming.

Flip 3, Vita, and Switch contains all of my top 10 games. Perhaps up to 50 of my favorites. I was really out of the loop by the PS3/360 eras.
Glass Canon build enjoyer i see :)
The offer grows... now let's see those prices
I got one of the 100 ryzen 7320u ayaneo air plus at 269 usd 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Ayyy me too!
Every time I’m going to buy one another comes out. I’ll just keep waiting.
I expect Aya neo 3 next week
19:19 Taki It looks like you accidentally named God of War as Elden Ring
Just wait on the ROG Ally with the newest Processor
Correction in the testing display. God of War is labeled as Elden Ring. Stats look correct, just mistitled.
Wouldn't surprise me if they announce a new handheld next week and make it cheaper. Ayaneo announces a new handheld every week or so😅🤣
lo-key jealous about the 6 in screen 🤔
I wanted to use this one, but I never could.
So tempted... do I wait for AOG Ally further announcements regarding the custom AMD Chip, or do I order this awesome unit?
Wait!
@@eskimofo9i6 yeah I decided to wait
Depends, if you like smaller size devices yes go buy this
Steam deck and ROG ally are too big for my hand, hence I'll probably prefer this or loki max
@@dafaqu694 ah I didn't think about that
@@andrewbrooks2001 I had steam deck, but it really tires my hands so I decided to sold it, and get loki max lol (hasn't released yet)
@@hadouken2123 Probably a bit too big for what I'm after. Anything smaller that can do the job?
@@CreepyOz then i would just go for the retroid pocket 3 plus. It has a really nice size. Price per value is also best here imho.
It's cool, but Aya will just release another one 6 months from now. That's my biggest issue with Odin and Aya - they aren't sticking with one sku long enough to drive down cost & really polish the user experience.
Honestly,. after I realized that I spent $1300 on an Aya device that was obsolete my the next model a week after I received it I said "F this im just going build a 4090 PC and be done with this foolery" best decision ever
nah it's great that they do, wish valve was already making a new one too, but yeah nobody is forcing u to upgrade, u can chill until u are ready or feel the need, same as PC gpu's lol just play your games/visuals that satisfy u until again u feel the need to upgrade
@@melxb I have to disagree because the gains are not much more and also they don't finish debugging one device before releasing another one. Steam deck owner here also and I love how valves is taking their time and fixing, adding things to this one before the next one
@@JohanMGO i mean hear u on that part, but 9 times out of 10 games just gonna play on windows even more than on valve own OS to be such a need for that constantly
@@JohanMGO If the gains are not much more, than how did your device go obsolete because of the next model..? That makes no sense..
im excited for the air pro plus max lite XL S gen 3.2x2 featuring dante from the devil may cry series & funky kong edition TM model coming soon
19:17 looks like GOW to me but the video says it's Elden Ring...
I’ll still probably get one, but I agree about the thumbsticks. It’d be nicer if they weren’t joycons
Dang that 269 price would've been nice. I would've taken one over my steam deck at that price.
Thanks for the video. How is the ergonomic with respect to the right analog stick? Is it more comfortable than the odin?
Great video taki, thanks!
What is the DBZ game you play around 6:00?
DBZ Kakarot
@@TakiUdon thanks. Love your videos
I used to own a PS Vita way back, sad that rough diamond didn't survive.
Indigogo is always a no go go
Can't wait to see your review of the 405m. Not a fan of it at all cause of the d pad and no linux. Would love your perspective!
Fujiwara Tofu Shop in the top left😊
Great Video Taki, Can you tell us if the display is native landscape?
It's portrait
Is that Turtle WoW at the end? That could even run on lower specced handhelds. Maybe you could do a video on how to run WoW Classic/Turtle in on an ARM based with the Box64 + Wine and show how to set up the controls
I did most of that in a big video that I put out last month.
@@TakiUdon I don't recall seeing WoW! I will recheck it.
I think it is at the very end of the video. It was one of the last things that I tested and is ultimately how I found Turtle.
I had never even heard of Turtle WoW until this video! So glad I watched all the way to the end! Are controllers supported natively?
@@TakiUdon Should configure the UI mod you have, immediately recognized that stock look lol. Used to use the same UI mod, and you can configure it to be a lot more friendly to handhelds
hall sensor joysticks are great but man I cannot be asked to use those switch joystick clones they are so uncomfortable and makes it harder to be accurate
Hi Taki, I'm also in China and have bought the recently released Redmi Note 12 turbo and its running everything so well. Could we expect a review from you for this product? I have been thinking about making a video review but I'm sure you could cover it better than I ever could
I like the Note line, but I haven't considered this.
I was gonna get the air plus but then saw the lowest model cost the same amount as the air lite but is weaker than it and plus I will get the air because me and my older brothers love playing fighter games and more together so I'm getting air lite and a steam deck docking station for my birthday. Its next month on May 18th
Strangely enough, the AMD devices seem better spec-wise, but the intel devices still have something special that the AMD's cant touch. All intel need to do is get their mobile gpu game in order or team up with nvidia and let them handle the gpu side of the processor.
What’s the something special?

how about this ?UMA size tune?heaat cooling?over clock?RSR?
Is 45hz mode a new native option on the AYANEO Air Plus? Or is it also available on other devices of AYANEO?
You have to set it up through CRU as custom resolution.
Found it. That's the one.
I want to see how it emulates the PSvita because I'm not gonna be playing God of War on a small device. :D
I think the best option is the Steam Deck until they produce the definitive one or you get obsolete very soon.
19:27, man Elden Ring looks funny. Not what I remember.
The back seems like it's the same colors as the triggers on the PS controller.
Dude, Taki, use chapter markers. Please.
Hi Taki,
I am wondering if you can check what's the SSD pcie.
Hi Taki, hope this gets to you as i needed some help on how to factory reset my Ayaneo air plus 7320u. Went thru Reddit but it does seems to work. Thank you in advance
Has AYANEO confirmed that all ayaneo air plus models have the same display?
Yes!

How many fps you get for final fantasy 7 remake on highest tdp and what settings? Also does it stutter on chapter 3?
I would need to use an addon to disable dynamic scaling. If you go over 30 FPS, the game will turn that on and it will make the game look really bad.
@@TakiUdon that’s true. Can you add the mod and run the test? I’m curious if it can run higher fps consistently
This one seems relatively close to Steam Deck in price. Is it comparable?
I Have Some Questions
Will It Be On Amazon
Does It Play PS2 Or GameCube Perfect
how much power does the system draw aside from the soc, if i put the soc to run at 5 watts what would the power draw be
considering this top maxed version of ayaneo, in price of twice of steam deck, how much performance this will have at lowest configuration ryzen 3 7320u with 16ram 512Mb ??
I’m looking for PS2 emulation without frame drops? You guys think this is powerful enough or I should wait for a more compatible handheld for PS2 games
Could you not run the games at higher graphics using a higher tdp? Would be nice to see the 6800u pushed to it's limits, even a stable 30fps is enough for me
yep that's what id do, just play plugged up/while charging, already do it with every handheld i have anyways, and yep pick the settings that show the most meaningful graphics difference and set at 30fps + highest necessary tdp, 9 times out of 10 u can definitely play most games looking nice as on a ps5/series x at least if not better, but i guess these channels tend to focus on the go gamers, so it's all about battery and performance...soon the 7000 series chip are coming so it will be even better/easier to do
@@melxb I've got a gpd win 4 coming real soon for my first handheld! I'm excited! However I've just seen the Rog ally! And that looks gooooood 😅 it's probs cheaper and performs better knowing my luck!
@@VideosWithNexus right, i myself almost jumped on the win 4, it was btw it and the aya 2, but then i started hearing aya talk about the aya next 2 or something like that looks like a steam deck coming with pads and new amd chip so i decided wait and yep now they showed the rog (is it me or does the rog oddly look like the buttons/design from the onexplayer guys, which also make some sleek looking devices, the onexplayer mini also tempted me, but yeah wouldn't be surprised they partnered to make that device or same part maker)
@@VideosWithNexus or actually i may have rog button/design confused with aokzoe 2 device, but yeah odd it looks like they have same buttons and design from both them and onexplayer, but i guess that's china they just take and copy things as they plz lol

With a 6-in screen form factor, why isn't anybody sourced 6-in OLED screens from a cell phone manufacturer?
60 Hertz would suffice for most PC gaming at 720p. And a 1080p OLED screen from Motorola or Samsung
What actually make these handheld Windows PCs much more desirable for the price point.
hope u try the i3 version with egpu
How is the Aya Space app behaving on this device? I hear nothing but bad things about it.
I remember getting the game NBA Shootout free and having it a year before getting my PS1 to play it. Shaq was a big white guy.
Would love to get this, but not the Chinese level support (none) that comes with them post-sale.
Wish it wasn't so expensive

Chinese domestic buyers are saying screen get hot when going above 20W, similar observations from your unit?
No. Maybe their fan speed is too low.
