  • I had a rough sight in at 35 yards and then I've shot plates and water bottles with the rifle. This time I wanted to actually see where it was hitting at 100 yards and especially how it was grouping. I was quite surprised with my first five shot group at 1oo yards.

    Have the 5.556, 7.62 and the 300 BO. All of them shoot like this. The 7.62 puts in same hole groups at 85 yards with cheap steel case russian garbage. I have much more expensive platforms but when it comes to fun and practicality, these are hard to beat. I tried the Jard triggers and they are excellent if you want to tighten things up even further.

    • @cervus-venator
      @cervus-venator  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool thanks for the info. And that is pretty much why I got this rifle, for some good ol plinking fun. However, given the accuracy it has I can certainly use it for hunting too. I have a American Rance 300 BO and my friend has the 7.62x39, but he doesn't like the feeding of the rounds from the magazine. He changed out to the AR type mags and it is still difficult to strip the next round and move it into the chamber. We need to get it out and see how accurate it is.

      100% agree. I love how accurate this little cheap (priced) rifle is. I paid a grand for my Ruger Precision .308, but I also have a Ruger American Predator in .308 that shoots very well too. To be honest though, this little 5.56 Ranch is a tack driver. Thanks for the comment and stopping by to check out the video.

  • @Halfmilesniper
    @Halfmilesniper ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You haven't measured yet but I'm calling it a .6 inch group. Very nice.
    Edit: using your calipers, you can measure outside edge to outside and subtract .224" for your center to center size...or, set you calipers to .224" then zero the dial and measure outside to outside. You should get the same measurement.

    • @cervus-venator
      @cervus-venator  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes Sir. I measured it three different ways and they all came to the same of .6 inch group. I just now measured it outside to outside and it was .824. Subtract the .224 and it came to the the .6. Also I had measured it with the calipers from inside edge to outside edge and it came up the same as .6 of an inch. If I'd only shot the first 4 shots it would have been .315 of an inch group as the last shot was the one to the far left. Oh well, I'm quite happy with the group. I saw that short of the 6.5 PRC and man that is one nice tight group as well, but that rifle better produce those groups regularly. Looking forward to the full video.
