Try this, use aa1680 powder, 150 gr sst made by Hornady. With a Remington small rifle primer. My Ruger gen 1 love nosler 165 gr ballistic tips. Use the 1680 powder. It works well. Keep your bullet weight in the middle of the road
I have had a few Ruger Americans and they have all been VERY ammo specific. I mean from 1/2" groups to 4" groups and not much in-between. I just bought the Gen 2 classis in 223 and it was the same. I've been told by some shooters that pulling the muzzle brake off made all the difference. I haven't tried that because I finally found ammo it likes. Shoots 1/2" to 5/8" groups now. I'm sure your reloading is excellent but I would suggest trying a few factory ammo brands. I did have a gen 1 in 308 that never would group with anything.

Im very glad I watched this before jumping on the gen 2 ranch. I had a gen 1 ranch that I liked a lot at first, then the light primer strikes began happening and I lost faith in the firearm and traded it away. Im going to hop on the howa mini barreled action instead..
Glad that I saved you from disappointment. It has only happened with reloads using CCI #41's. I have shot many rounds since with no problems, but you never know and it could happen at the worst possible time. It definitely makes you lose confidence in the firearm. Thanks for the comment.
I had a Ruger Ranch rifle in 300 Blackout once and also experienced light primer strikes. Didn’t seem to matter what ammo I used. Sent it back to Ruger and they replaced the bolt, but I still had occasional light primer strikes. Accuracy was NOT good and was generally disappointed. Have never been happy with Rugers and since gotten rid of that Ruger Ranch rifle. Stick with an AR if you like 300 Blackout.
I have the first Gen and it shoots good all the way to 245gr but wish it took AR mags. Make sure the front of the stock doesn’t touch the barrel when you squeeze it , I floated and filled mine so pressure from a bi pod won’t effect it . Light strikes could be as simple as shoulder but I’m sure you have a case gauge. I heard some get light strikes and there might be a fix for that. BUMMER about feeding , they have a stupid shoulder around the chamber and thought that was a rotary mag thing and I had to wind mine to kick some rounds up. I’m sure there help out there . 🤷♀️ keep us posted and I’m sure you know you are at a crossroads of sending it in or modding and voiding warranty. 🤭
I use small base dies and thought maybe the chamber on this gun is bigger. The longer magazines would wobble back and forth too much and caused feeding problems. I tried taking the bolt apart to look at the firing pin, but it doesn’t look straight forward and there are no instructions in the manual. I sent an email to Ruger about the problems. Interesting. I've never had a light strike or a mag issue. Although I hear the rotary mags are problematic. If you're shooting subs out of pmags, file the internal ribs down by half.
My friend has a Ruger American Ranch that I reload ammo for him. (Not the Gen 2 like yours) He was having light primer strikes as well. The ammo I load has always worked flawlessly in my 300 Blackout ARs. I do not have a bolt rifle. Doing a search, I found it was a common problem due to a wee bit of extra headspace on the Ruger rifles. I bought an extra set of dies and have them adjusted out so they don't bump the shoulder back as much and that solved the problem. It seems the issue was never corrected by Ruger based on your experience...assuming it is the same problem. I also use Lancer 300 Blackout magazines. The Magpul that came with his did not work well. I gave him a Lancer 10 round 300 Blackout magazine, and it functions in the rifle with no problem. He only shoots subsonics and pretty much hunts with Hornady Sub-X 190 grain. It is an accurate bullet. 300 Blackout can definitely be a picky round to work with.
Ruger said that I could sent it back, but I really think it was mainly the relaods that I was using. I reloaded them with RCBS small base dies and CCI#41 primers. They work great in my AR's but not in this rifle. I reloaded some with regular dies and used other SRP and they all shot great. I am trying other magazines, but most just have a little too much wobble in them when seated. I just made a video with the Sub X 190gr and they shot and performed awesome in this rifle. A Nice Look at the Ruger Ranch 300BO I have always used the 41 primers in my .223 Ar platform reloads but not any of my other ammo loading. I had always heard they were harder than the standard small rifle primers so i kept them for the Ar loads. I am curious if all other primers worked fine in it. Maybe Ruger needs to improve their firing pin or spring. I hope it works out well. It looks like a nice rifle otherwise. It is one I have thought about purchasing as well. It should be a great one for your can. Maybe pick up a box or 2 of factory stuff and see if its just as bad before calling Ruger. I would think Ruger should help you get this resolved. They surely should be testing for things like light primer strikes and 41primers, but these days one can never tell. hopefully it works out. Paul

Also check your chamber depth. It's really helpful to know were you can move the bullet in the case . This helps with accuracy
