- In this video, I give a quick review of the Ruger American Ranch rifle. It is chambered in 5.56 Nato, and it accepts standard AR magazines. In the video, it does become apparent that this rifle has its "favorites" as far as how the various magazines feed. I received this rifle for my birthday and it is already becoming a favorite. Being chambered in 5.56 Nato, ammo is readily available and relatively cheap. The fact that Ruger made this utilitarian rifle to accept AR magazines, in my opinion, is a stroke of genius. Great work on this rifle and its price point.

Ive been rocking one of these for sometime now, suppressed. Fantastically accurate for a cheap rifle, never had a missed feed with the original PMag. Ive taken so many deer, goats, turkeys with it. Highly recommend it, from way down in New Zealand.
Ironically, I just started looking into suppressors for this rifle.
C-Products is far from generic, one of the better magazines out there
I got the savage axis ii no. 20rd jus 5 but she shoots and loads well.
Im pretty sure the weird jamming issues with the metal mags are from you holding it while trying to cycle another round. I played it back in slow mo and you can definitely tell the mag is being forced into a weird position once the bolt is pulled back
Yep.
I agree. I have the same rifle and when cycling the bolt, any pressure on the mags (pretty much any brand mag) will cause a bad feed. Also, unlike an AR, you really don't want to tap the mag into the well. You can cause the mag to over feed into the well, especially if the bolt is open. Aside from that, it is an awesome plinker and averages 1moa consistently. 😎
@jtrourke667 makes sense, I've done some more testing, and while nobody seems to like that particular magazine, when resting the rifle on something that puts upward pressure on a magazine, it can get finicky.
I agree with you. I have 7.62 and it's doing the same when holding the mag.
I had some failures to fire when it was new. It worked itself out around 60 rounds. 800 rounds later its a go to for coyote and nutria
My favourite rifle.
El 223 es un calibre hermoso y los ruger son maquinas de alta calidad 💪
Estoy totalmente de acuerdo
great Video ,love your Target Pit .......Man Hole Lid lol. Good Shooting
7.62x39 😎
Your twisting the mag by pushing on it when you try to reload. That’s why it’s jamming genius.
Nice review! Any chance you could measure the barrel outside diameter? Near the muzzle and again back about 4 inches? I have an Amtac over barrel suppressor that can accept a barrel up to .76 inches diameter. Got my fingers crossed - I think this would be a great combo. Thanks!
.62 inches across the flats of the thread protector at the muzzle, and .79 four inches back
The fact that you’re wrenching on the mag with your off hand every time you chamber a round might have something to do with your feeding issues. It’s not a handlebar
What scope are you using? Looking for an inexpensive for plinking
It's an Osprey 2.5×20. I picked it up at a gun show years ago, and it has been a good scope that has been bounced around various guns. I think I got it for 50 bucks.
Hey there just wondering what scope and ring are you using. Thanks
Weaver rings and an osprey 2.5x20 scope
Thanks. Any suggestion for an iron sight? Would have been nice if it was originally included@@halfassoffgrid1036
2:50 look at those Chiken
Where you finding that super cheap range ammo?
North idaho.
My Friend... Good video, bery good you rifle Ranch gift and bery good you Ranch house ... ha ha... beautiful field (place) ... embrace
Feed has nothing to do with accuracy.
Loud?
Yep
I ask just because I don’t live there
Is this legal in California
Probably not. But I live in free America.
I put bells and whistles on a rifle. Not much good for hunting.
I couldn’t watch anymore of your video, I can’t take that weird bouncing it does everything minute. I’ll watch if you ever get rid of that camera issue.
That's a transition between clips. I use different ones in my videos. Thanks for your input.
@@halfassoffgrid1036 call me old, but it’s too much for me, sorry.
