A few years ago, when I was a principal in Compton, you and Ariana came and read to my kids. I will always remember the humility, sweetness and sincerity you both showed, when there was no media around. So, I know there is goodness in you. I have experienced it firsthand. I don't think people are looking for another apology. I think people are looking to see you take full responsibility for the hurt you caused. People who watched the show thought highly of you and believed in your character and your integrity. Their anger stems from empathy towards Ariana and grave disappointment in your choices. Every time that I hear you discuss the issue, there seems to be a lot of excuses, defensiveness, blame and comparisons. You don't come across as though you feel that you were completely in the wrong. You need someone else to be wrong with you. People want to see acceptance of responsibility and growth and then eventually comes redemption. And there needs to be an acceptance that it will take time. Give people time. It heals all wounds. Your impatience for it to pass and for people to get over it, will only slow things down and make the process take longer. Accept where you are. Slow yourself down and take the time to grow from this. Painful experiences can be transformative if we allow them to be. I believe you will get through this and come out on the other side.
I think Jerry hit the nail on the head when he said that the affair was so egregious, not only because people were invested in the relationship and have such major feelings around affairs anyway, but because of the righteous role that Tom always plays on the show. He and Raquel spent the season preaching about “being real”, doing the right thing, living your “truth”, even calling others out for their behaviors. Meanwhile, behind closed doors, they were the ones lying, cheating, and deceiving. I can totally understand how the cast was so upset after being publicly preached at all season by the two of them. To be lying to everyone is their lives but at the same time telling those same people that THEY need to be honest? It goes far beyond just a issue that he and Ariana need to resolve. Tom and Rachel need to take ownership for that part of it too.

Ive recently went through something with my fiance (who is 43 im 31) who slept with one of my friends and I found out because of his lack of skill hiding shit (moved the camera, didnt show up for work) and my intuition... and I have interrogated this man until no end, and theres never a good explanation. We will never get what we are looking for because they dont even why themselves.
It was Tom’s righteousness and how he always portrayed himself as the one who was walking the moral high-ground when others made similar mistakes. He was the first t one to insert himself in pointing out others (especially the girls i.e. LaLa and Katie) bad behavior as though he had THE moral compass that makes people feel so deeply disappointed in him. Also, the misogyny and fuckboy attitude that makes women seeth over his hypocrisy.
I don't think people need/want to hear and apology. I think it's just more about showing remorse and taking accountability without adding any type of excuse. And let me add, you don't owe us anything. You're you and tbh we don't have to live with you or speak to you or even watch you on the show but it is difficult for those of us that have grown to love both Toms to accept that you could be so heartless to shift the blame on other people for your wrong doing. I can't speak for everyone but it was hard for me to see you act like this especially because I have been a huge fan of the Toms since the beginning. But there is nothing you can really say now that will help your situation. Now it's going to be all about your actions and truly humbling yourself.

I lost my ex husband and close friend to suicide in June. During all this VPR shit and it honestly made watching that reunion awful bc i know that words can push people who are struggling over the edge. Its never ok to tell someone to kill themselves. Tom didnt murder anyone. He cheated. We all can be better and grow if we take accountability. It troubles me where society is nowadays bc of social media. People say things thinking just because they can, they should. I wouldn’t wish losing someone to suicide on my worst enemy. Its become an epidemic in this country. Anyways that’s my spilz. Glad to see Tom take accountability and I think everyone is allowed room for growth if they admit where they were wrong and it seems Tom has.
So sorry for your loss. Trauma changes people. It makes us far more conscious. I forgive those who are less conscious far more easily now. In order to become more conscious, we often have to face hard reality either through our own actions or the actions of others. I don’t wish that on anyone, but it’s a journey that we all must take at some point. There is no coming out of this life unscathed. Hence why I’m so happy that Tom is showing up and facing his stuff. It’s very brave in a World that wants to see people suffer, usually coming from people who’ve either never truly experienced hard realities or haven’t dealt with it and hate on those who are facing it. Tom you should look into your astrology… birth chart. It explains a lot about you and your nature (without judgement)… Sun in Cancer and Mars in Cancer/Gemini moon is your attachment to your past and why you generally struggled to leave Ariana officially and decide to make the official call. Venus in Leo is why you fell for Rachel’s attention and what you felt was lacking with Ariana. Gemini moon is your ability to over intellectualise your emotions (and often seen to justify vs “show emotions”)… it’s really fascinating.
Words mean nothing. Actions speak louder than words. And it needs to be both genuine and sincere, not pre-planned as a strategy to get people to just think it is. It needs to be organic and in the moment. People get vibes from their senses when it's a staged thing because it isnt real. And it will just make getting true forgiveness harder to achieve because no one will believe it's genuine. Forgiveness takes time. And everyone deserves a chance at redemption. He shouldn't be punished for the rest of his life. Why the vitriol is being aimed at others associated with Tom is beyond me. That's not ok. Everyone is entitled to have a support system for their own well-being. Tom has never been a favorite of mine since day 1 season 1. I think he is a huge narcissist. He's always rubbed me the wrong way. But that's ok. He doesn't even know I exist, so who cares. Applauding Tom for realizing alcohol was a problem. Hopefully from here on out he will make better decisions with clarity now that alcohol isn't clouding his judgments. Make amends to Ariana. It's more important that she forgives Tom first. At least get to a place where you both can be in a room together and be civil. Obviously, you both wont be best friends, but at least have a civility. Make things as right as you can to Ariana. Make your money so you can buy out her half of the house or pay off your half of the house so she doesnt feel strapped to you financially forever. That's not fair to her otherwise. You both can decide which one of you should get the house. You are the one who did her dirty not the other way around, so keep that in mind. We havent seen the new season of VPR yet because it hasn't aired. Maybe once it does and viewers see how you and Ariana were during the season that the viewers will ease up on the vitriol. I truly hope Tom made the best out of his time during the season working towards redemption for his goal. Both with Ariana and the VPR friend group. Keep going to therapy, Tom. Learn to humble yourself in your everyday life and actions. Use this horrible era of your life as a lesson to change your ways. I think to some degree you do realize that since you gave up alcohol. I do applaud you for that. Hopefully over time your life gets better as a result.

I REALLY like what the Principal from Compton wrote. That was right on and if you could only truly hear that and think about how betrayed your fans felt. We supported you and Arianna and from our perspective, she didn’t do anything to merit what you did to her. If you’d broken up with her, I’d have felt sad because I thought you guys had something really special but I wouldn’t have been upset with you at ALL! I’d have wanted good for both of you and would’ve watched to see what was next for you and cheered you on as I had since Season 1 when you were with Kristen. I’d love to hear you explain why you felt you needed to lie to Arianna and especially if you were in therapy with her. You must know the difference between right and wrong. You don’t always have to be the hero or be doing things for others to have people love you as fans. But, you can’t expect to have fans when we can’t trust what you’re saying is real and unscripted. Seems like everyone was in a reality show except for you and it’s confusing. That said, I hope you’ve learned something from all of this and maybe one day you’ll be able to share it in a meaningful way.

What Tom has had to go through is absolutley ridiculous! He made a poor choice and fell in love and came back to life after Ariana had drained him. He wasn't married and Araiana never wanted to get married. Seems like she got a new boyfriend in a hot second who she shows way more affection to than she ever showed to Tom. People judging him for this are so brave behind their keyboards. But, I was in Anaheim at the concert right after the news broke and was so happy to support him. I only saw true fans at that show. Quick story cuz you guys are talking about forgiveness, and also talk about these trolls on social media. While my daughter was in hospice my only child fighting breast cancer in her last days my best friend a 30 years and my husband of 9 years got caught in my backyard doing inappropriate things with one another, mind you while my daughter was fighting for her life. I know this sounds crazy and nobody will understand this I forgave both of them. A lot of alcohol was involved on their part. The Betrayal what's excruciating, a hell of a lot worse than you could ever have imagined to do to Arianna, girlfriend / roommate. I was the victim. Never once did I tell people that they couldn't be friends with my girlfriend that betrayed me with my husband months went by after my daughter passed away, and I decided to choose forgiveness just a quick story I wanted to share. My friendship with my girlfriend will never look the same when we speak from time to time and we are cordial. I decided to work things out with my husband, because I love him and I knew he did not know what he was doing because he was inebriated. Needless to say he doesn't drink anymore.
Why doesn’t Tom give an honest accounting for what he did and why he did things the way he did them? Cuz this isn’t about cheating on someone. It’s about the masquerade that was played out on someone that you said you loved. Rachel who’s certainly not a master of words, managed to express her remorse much better than Tom has. He’s never been short on words when it came to moralizing with Lala or Jax or any number of people. I don’t believe he’s truly remorseful about his actions. He is however, very sorry for himself and wants it to be forgotten as quickly as possible.

I might be in the minority here with this but the only person that Tom owed an apology to was the other person in the relationship and no one else. I don't understand how complete strangers got so upset as if they were in the relationship with him and were wronged by him.
Reality TV works because it sucks people in to the drama and convinces them they are the unbiased observer of all sides of the story. The way the situation was presented was just very very bad for Tom Sandoval (and rightly so). Some reaction definitely makes sense, but everyone who isn't one of the cast members on that show should've forgotten about it or at least let it go after 24 hours... but they can't. Clearly people are addicted to the show and the drama. The fans and review bombers just need to move on. Sure he sucks, but he also contributed to a crazy television show that provided countless hours of entertainment.
I agree with one exception. I know Rachel and James were not together anymore, and he cheated on her so many times, and trust me I am not a James fan. He owes James an apology because him and Tom were legitimate friends, and he broke bro code by getting with Rachel without a conversation with James. Even just a heads up, I'm interested. Other than that, I totally agree! People need to let it go!!
I’ve been a Vanderpump Rules watcher since season 1. Throughout the show, I’d always think of how Tom wanted marriage and kids and Ariana didn’t. Enough is enough why do we feel the need because of social media to comment on someone's mistakes when we do not know someone personally🤷♀️. We as viewers an humans in general should just advocate to be kind an be mindful that even though we watch these people on our screens they are humans with feelings. Spread love and kindness❤️
Tom is an imperfect (human) dude caught up in the hustle of being a reality TV star and living the LA lifestyle, and I've got bad news for everyone, he's far from the worst out there - not even close to being deserving of undying harassment and hatred. You just think so because you binge watched a TV show. Realize that these people are public figures because they were part of a perfect storm of morally bankrupt youth and reality television editing. This show doesn't work without people making mistakes in the way that Tom did. They put their lives out there to entertain you, they did a major favor to the fans by baring all. None of us have to tip-toe through complicated relationships, living situations, etc. for the benefit of TV show ratings. We don't know what it is like to be in that headspace. This is so much more than a simple relationship disaster, remember you are only seeing what is on the surface. Anyway, I really haven't seen the whole show since I only catch up as my girlfriend watches, but even in my isolated view of tabloids and social media I can see that people are just treating Tom like the worst person walking the earth. Let him move on, learn from his mistakes, enjoy your television show. The guy deserves a crack at life.
I have always liked Tom the best. I always thought he was accountable. The reunion showed everyone’s true colors. Nasty awful friends. He was always a wonderful friend. Had your back. Paid for parties, everything. He Was there for the underdog when Katie and the girls would bully everyone. His treatment this year has always pissed me off. He fucked up. He said he did. Again. And again and again. I wish him nothing but success.

I noticed recently the tide is changing about Ariana. She's getting blasted in social media. All her dirty transgressions are being brought back up. I'm speaking of noticing it the last several weeks.

From day one of this drama, I have firmly stood in Tom's corner. I have been abused and received the most disgusting comments from hundreds of people from all over my life. I have been in exactly the same position as him and I understand how it happened and also how much the hate takes a toll on your mental health. It's like people won't be happy until you are unalive. I am a publicist and I live in Australia but I have worked and toured with the biggest bands in the world....People love to hate and it's a bloody sickness in society. You're clearly doing the work, keep it up and feel good that as long as these assho*** are hating on you, they are leaving some other poor basta** alone that may not have the strength to carry on.

Tom - I've been a long term fan of the show and you, in particular, and that hasn't changed. I just now found Tom’s podcast. While I don’t like what he did & feel bad for Ariana of course. I’ve always liked Tom from what I’ve seen on VPR. And I’m hoping as his podcast series goes on, people will stop asking/talking about the situation. I’m sure he is just ready to move on. I know people are curious, and he doesn’t seem to mind talking about it. But he needs to be allowed to move on
I remember always thinking how selfish Ariana was to try and hold on to you when she obviously never wanted children. You made it very clear that you did.. It really was all about her. It still is. I think what made me so upset is because Ariana was grieving the loss of her grandmother and her dog while you were sleeping with her friend. Thats what really made me want to dislike you. A few years ago, when I was a principal in Compton, you and Ariana came and read to my kids. I will always remember the humility, sweetness and sincerity you both showed, when there was no media around. So, I know there is goodness in you. I have experienced it firsthand. I don't think people are looking for another apology. I think people are looking to see you take full responsibility for the hurt you caused. People who watched the show thought highly of you and believed in your character and your integrity. Their anger stems from empathy towards Ariana and grave disappointment in your choices. Every time that I hear you discuss the issue, there seems to be a lot of excuses, defensiveness, blame and comparisons. You don't come across as though you feel that you were completely in the wrong. You need someone else to be wrong with you. People want to see acceptance of responsibility and growth and then eventually comes redemption. And there needs to be an acceptance that it will take time. Give people time. It heals all wounds. Your impatience for it to pass and for people to get over it, will only slow things down and make the process take longer. Accept where you are. Slow yourself down and take the time to grow from this. Painful experiences can be transformative if we allow them to be. I believe you will get through this and come out on the other side.

I think Jerry hit the nail on the head when he said that the affair was so egregious, not only because people were invested in the relationship and have such major feelings around affairs anyway, but because of the righteous role that Tom always plays on the show. He and Raquel spent the season preaching about “being real”, doing the right thing, living your “truth”, even calling others out for their behaviors. Meanwhile, behind closed doors, they were the ones lying, cheating, and deceiving. I can totally understand how the cast was so upset after being publicly preached at all season by the two of them. To be lying to everyone is their lives but at the same time telling those same people that THEY need to be honest? It goes far beyond just a issue that he and Ariana need to resolve. Tom and Rachel need to take ownership for that part of it too.

Ive recently went through something with my fiance (who is 43 im 31) who slept with one of my friends and I found out because of his lack of skill hiding shit (moved the camera, didnt show up for work) and my intuition... and I have interrogated this man until no end, and theres never a good explanation. It was Tom’s righteousness and how he always portrayed himself as the one who was walking the moral high-ground when others made similar mistakes. He was the first t one to insert himself in pointing out others (especially the girls i.e. LaLa and Katie) bad behavior as though he had THE moral compass that makes people feel so deeply disappointed in him. Also, the misogyny and fuckboy attitude that makes women seeth over his hypocrisy.
But it still doesn’t mean he (Tom) should be publicly crucified until he is contemplating suicide.
I don't think people need/want to hear and apology. I think it's just more about showing remorse and taking accountability without adding any type of excuse. And let me add, you don't owe us anything. You're you and tbh we don't have to live with you or speak to you or even watch you on the show but it is difficult for those of us that have grown to love both Toms to accept that you could be so heartless to shift the blame on other people for your wrong doing. I can't speak for everyone but it was hard for me to see you act like this especially because I have been a huge fan of the Toms since the beginning. In order to become more conscious, we often have to face hard reality either through our own actions or the actions of others. Words mean nothing. Actions speak louder than words. And it needs to be both genuine and sincere, not pre-planned as a strategy to get people to just think it is. It needs to be organic and in the moment. People get vibes from their senses when it's a staged thing because it isnt real. And it will just make getting true forgiveness harder to achieve because no one will believe it's genuine.
Forgiveness takes time. And everyone deserves a chance at redemption. He shouldn't be punished for the rest of his life.
Why the vitriol is being aimed at others associated with Tom is beyond me. That's not ok. Everyone is entitled to have a support system for their own well-being.

We havent seen the new season of VPR yet because it hasn't aired. Maybe once it does and viewers see how you and Ariana were during the season that the viewers will ease up on the vitriol. I truly hope Tom made the best out of his time during the season working towards redemption for his goal. Both with Ariana and the VPR friend group.
Keep going to therapy, Tom. Learn to humble yourself in your everyday life and actions. Use this horrible era of your life as a lesson to change your ways. I REALLY like what the Principal from Compton wrote. That was right on and if you could only truly hear that and think about how betrayed your fans felt. We supported you and Arianna and from our perspective, she didn’t do anything to merit what you did to her. If you’d broken up with her, I’d have felt sad because I thought you guys had something really special but I wouldn’t have been upset with you at ALL! Quick story cuz you guys are talking about forgiveness, and also talk about these trolls on social media. While my daughter was in hospice my only child fighting breast cancer in her last days my best friend a 30 years and my husband of 9 years got caught in my backyard doing inappropriate things with one another, mind you while my daughter was fighting for her life. I know this sounds crazy and nobody will understand this I forgave both of them. A lot of alcohol was involved on their part. The Betrayal what's excruciating, a hell of a lot worse than you could ever have imagined to do to Arianna, girlfriend / roommate. I was the victim. Never once did I tell people that they couldn't be friends with my girlfriend that betrayed me with my husband months went by after my daughter passed away, and I decided to choose forgiveness just a quick story I wanted to share. My friendship with my girlfriend will never look the same when we speak from time to time and we are cordial. I decided to work things out with my husband, because I love him and I knew he did not know what he was doing because he was inebriated. Needless to say he doesn't drink anymore.
Sorry my point of my story is go easy on yourself, and forgive yourself. You deserve nothing but the best

Why doesn’t Tom give an honest accounting for what he did and why he did things the way he did them? Cuz this isn’t about cheating on someone. It’s about the masquerade that was played out on someone that you said you loved. Rachel who’s certainly not a master of words, managed to express her remorse much better than Tom has. He’s never been short on words when it came to moralizing with Lala or Jax or any number of people. I don’t believe he’s truly remorseful about his actions. He is however, very sorry for himself and wants it to be forgotten as quickly as possible.

I might be in the minority here with this but the only person that Tom owed an apology to was the other person in the relationship and no one else. I don't understand how complete strangers got so upset as if they were in the relationship with him and were wronged by him.
Reality TV works because it sucks people in to the drama and convinces them they are the unbiased observer of all sides of the story. The way the situation was presented was just very very bad for Tom Sandoval (and rightly so). Some reaction definitely makes sense, but everyone who isn't one of the cast members on that show should've forgotten about it or at least let it go after 24 hours... but they can't. Clearly people are addicted to the show and the drama.
The fans and review bombers just need to move on. Sure he sucks, but he also contributed to a crazy television show that provided countless hours of entertainment.

Tom is an imperfect (human) dude caught up in the hustle of being a reality TV star and living the LA lifestyle, and I've got bad news for everyone, he's far from the worst out there - not even close to being deserving of undying harassment and hatred. You just think so because you binge watched a TV show.
Realize that these people are public figures because they were part of a perfect storm of morally bankrupt youth and reality television editing. This show doesn't work without people making mistakes in the way that Tom did.
They put their lives out there to entertain you, they did a major favor to the fans by baring all. None of us have to tip-toe through complicated relationships, living situations, etc. for the benefit of TV show ratings. We don't know what it is like to be in that headspace. This is so much more than a simple relationship disaster, remember you are only seeing what is on the surface.
Anyway, I really haven't seen the whole show since I only catch up as my girlfriend watches, but even in my isolated view of tabloids and social media I can see that people are just treating Tom like the worst person walking the earth.
Let him move on, learn from his mistakes, enjoy your television show. The guy deserves a crack at life.

I have been in exactly the same position as him and I understand how it happened and also how much the hate takes a toll on your mental health. It's like people won't be happy until you are unalive. Tom - I've been a long term fan of the show and you, in particular, and that hasn't changed. People get caught up in stuff in their personal lives all the time but aren't on TV for all the terrible mean bored people online to comment on it like they know you. I think you would be cool to hang with and be friends with for what it's worth.

I just now found Tom’s podcast. While I don’t like what he did & feel bad for Ariana of course. I’ve always liked Tom from what I’ve seen on VPR. And I’m hoping as his podcast series goes on, people will stop asking/talking about the situation. I’m sure he is just ready to move on. I know people are curious, and he doesn’t seem to mind talking about it. But he needs to be allowed to move on
I remember always thinking how selfish Ariana was to try and hold on to you when she obviously never wanted children. You made it very clear that you did.. It really was all about her. It still is. You didn't leave in the right way but it's clear your happier without her. She is putting on quite the show that you lost something so great but shes getting what it is she really wants now..Go after what it is you really want Tom but just do it right next time. I have watched Vanderpump Rules since day 1 and i was upset with you after learning about the affair. I think what made me so upset is because Ariana was grieving the loss of her grandmother and her dog while you were sleeping with her friend. Thats what really made me want to dislike you. As time goes by i realize people make mistakes and grow. I feel optimistic that you will grow and learn from this. I hope more people will too.
