I'm an American. Correct me if I'm wrong. But the kings guard is not a tourist attraction. The guards and the horses are doing a job. They are not there for the benefit of the crowds. I think they deserve a little more respect from the public. The sign on the wall says the horses will kick and bite. I would bite too if I was harassed all day by people that just want a picture. Just an observation.

As an American, (and yeah, I know what you think of the average American) I can't stand how the tourists I see disrespect ALL of the guards. GET OUT OF THE WAY!! It looks to me like tourists are becoming less and less responsive to their passing. The laughing and snickering chaps my hide also.
As an American who lives in UK, most Brits think well of Americans. We are a lot more respectful to police and armed forces than most of the tourists. There are ignoramuses who live in London too. 🤓

Define torture. They stand guard one hour, march in parades, have the best quarters, food, water, and training, and retire to live pampered lives in various places in England. They are better off than many humans across the world. That's not to say they they don't earn those benefits! Sometimes, they save lives, including at least once, Queen Elizabeth. They are trained for combat as well as parades.
Now, a lot of animals in zoos are tortured. Get a reality check.
