Can one get pulled over giving the finger to a police officer?
No, that is not an illegal act.
      However if he was driving.
If you tend to make rude hand gestures (yes, that includes sticking your middle finger up) while driving you could be prosecuted for "disorderly conduct".

Makes me laugh how people think that US freedom of speech tolerances somehow apply to the UK. Offensive and rude behaviour in public is not tolerated and saying ‘Freedom of speech’ as some sort of protection is irrelevant.

In the UK, while it’s not a criminal offense to make rude gestures like flipping off, it could potentially be considered a breach of the peace or public order if it’s done in a way that might cause harassment, alarm, or distress to others. The Royal Guards are on duty to protect the Royal residences and are highly trained soldiers. It’s important to remember that they are performing their duties and should be treated with respect.
If someone were to flip off the Royal Guards, it’s unlikely they would be arrested solely for that gesture. However, if the action escalates or is part of a larger disturbance, it could lead to intervention by the police. It’s always best to behave respectfully and courteously, especially around individuals who are serving their country.
